OnePlus 8 Pro 60fps PUBG gameplay is better than 90fps - we have proof!

Hey guys, what's up- and you know what recently OnePlus announced- that it's going to introduce an exclusive partnership with PUBG for 90 fps gaming and since they did that, I really wanted to test it out and that exclusivity lasts just for a month. So all the other phones that come with uh, snapdragon, 865 or 855 will also get uh. You know 90 fps gaming pretty soon, so I really wanted to test out quickly how it plays on the OnePlus 8 pro. What kind of performance do you get? What is the fps stability at 90 fps? All of those details, I'm going to capture the fps data as well using game bench, so you can stay tuned and find out. You know how the performance is in comparison with 60 fps out here. So I have the OnePlus 8 pro, which is possibly the most powerful ones plus flagship out there, and this will give us an idea of what 90 fps PUBG gaming looks like I'm pretty sure that a lot of you guys are stoked and want to know how it performs so without wasting any more time.

My name is Assad you're watching. Mr phone and let's get this video started, but before we move on, don't forget to hit that red subscribe button and the bell icon right next to it to get notified. Whenever Mr phone puts out an awesome new performance comparison all right, so I'm starting off my session of 90 fps, PUBG, first, of course, uh I'll play 60 fps. After that, you can see that you know the game is already at around hovering the 90 mark uh, because I've already set it at smooth and 90 fps. As you can see, the graphics is that's more than 90 fps.

So let's get down to playing a game quickly and finding out how I fare. This is very important. This update is very important because PUBG gaming at 90fps is something a lot of gamers have been expecting for uh. You know high refresh rate displays of course, uh soon. We should be able to see 120 fps as well, if possible, let's keep our fingers crossed, but let's hope that 90 fps first comes to a lot of other phones out there, which includes phones, like the galaxy s20 series, the note 20 series- and you know- phones like the ASUS ROG phone 3, most importantly because those are phones that are dedicated gaming phones and I would love to see how PUBG performs on that.

But for now we have the OnePlus 8 pro, and we're going to test out how the performance is on the phone. So we are 15 minutes into the game and what I've seen is something very, very surprising. The game is not really playing at 90 fps anymore uh, it's gone down to 60, and it's and has stayed at 60 and the phone gotten kind of hot, which is very, very weird and very, very surprising, so obviously, 90 fps gaming is not going to be sustained, at least on the OnePlus 8 pro is what I've noticed. So please take these 90 fps gaming with a pinch of salt, because this is generally its state right. Now, anyway, I've been playing really badly.

So let's keep that aside for now and let me get back to my gaming all right. So this is the last five minutes of gaming. This whole uh castle thing or whatever. This ancient mythology thing that is there and in PUBG right now seems like a lot of fun. But I have to get a hang of how to play this because I'm keeping on dying so yeah, that's it I'm dead.

I'm going to start up again to see you know what I can do, but one of the things that I'm actually testing out right now, most importantly, is of course the fps, and we are consistently looking at only that, and it is really disappointing that you know OnePlus throttles. I don't know if it's OnePlus or if it's the game itself- and you know how it's coded, but after I think it gets a certain level of hot it throttles the performance, and it doesn't go beyond 60 fps at all, so it feels like a farce, and it doesn't feel like something that the snapdragon 865 can do with ease. So I'm going to be playing 30 minutes of gaming. So that's what I've set it at. So it's at 26.48 right now so yeah I mean: let's see how this goes alright, so we have about a minute and a half of gaming left. As you can see, the timer is running out here and no side of 90 fps gaming after we did that for the initial few minutes, so yeah pretty disappointed, so we're done with 30 minutes of 90 fps gaming on, or you know, pseudo 90 fps.

Let's put it that way, gaming on the OnePlus 8 pro with PUBG. So after this I'm going to be playing at 60 fps quickly. Let's do one thing, though: let's take a look at the temperature uh and see what it is at. It is at around all right, the 40 degrees mark and that's at a certain point. It's at 41.9 so around this area, it's at around 42! So that's the max! It has touched on the OnePlus 8 pro now, let's jump to our 60 fps gaming in a bit all right. Interestingly, you'll note that you know the game is currently going to 90 fps, because it does the phone is cooled down and there is no throttling happening with the heating.

So that's funny, but anyway I'm going to be playing at 60 fps right now, so you should immediately see that the fps has dropped to 60 fps. So, let's start playing the game now you'll notice that I actually am playing the game at HDR and uh. You know extreme, which plays at 60 fps. So at this uh you know at this level you're getting HDR graphics, which means that the graphics are gonna. Look phenomenal now considering the fact that 90 fps actually throttles after the phone heats up.

I'm kind of okay with that, let's hope that the phone doesn't heat up too much with HDR and extreme, and if it doesn't, then I would actually prefer better graphics and 60 fps gaming over 90 fps that gets throttled when the phone gets hot. Absolutely any day. Also note that this is really not a gameplay video, because I'm awful at the game itself. So I'm just gently playing to show you guys what data you get with PUBG and what kind of stability you get on uh. You know 60 fps, with HDR extreme and 90 fps with smooth and 90 fps gameplay, all right, so we're done with halfway through the game, I'm actually at 16 minutes right now, and what I noticed is that the OnePlus 8 pro got really hot, and it's still very hot, and it's about the same kind of heat that uh was dissipated when we played at 90fps.

But there's not. You know that kind of throttling happening here. It's not like the game is going to 30 fps, so basically uh, it's running fairly stable at 60 fps and of course I did die in between as well, because, obviously I am a noob, but I did manage to get a couple of h: shots um. You know when you didn't see on camera, but anyway, that's just me trying to salvage that you know I'm not that bad of a player but uh. The point is that we managed to uh see that you know it continuously runs at 60 fps.

Despite the fact that the phone is actually getting pretty hot after around 70-20 minutes of PUBG gaming, okay, so we're at the final five minutes of the game play, and I'm at the ancient temple. This is a really weird concept that has been added on uh. You know to air angel uh, or you know PUBG in general. I think uh. I don't know what this is about, but anyway the whole point is that uh it stayed a sustained 60, fps and the heat is kinda.

Sort of you know reduced right now, so I'm going to be playing five minutes more of PUBG to find out um. You know how it fares eventually and in the end I'm going to compare the data with you guys to tell you how you know: 90 fps compares um. You know in comparison to 60 fps, let's get going all right, so we're done with 30 minutes of gaming, and I have stopped gaming on the phone right now. Let's quickly take a temperature check to find out, you know what the OnePlus 8 pro uh is reading at right now. So it's similarly around the 41.5- and here you go it's at around 42.5, so it's gone slightly hotter than uh. You know when we played it at 90.

Fps just hold on for a second all right. So in the front, um, okay, but let it be known that you know the temperature rising is not linear to the amount of time that you played uh. There are a lot of variable factors that are also involved in it. So basically what you can expect after 30 minutes of 90, fps gaming and 60 uh fps gaming, is that the phone does get hot. The OnePlus 8 pro does get hot, and it goes up to close to 41 42 degrees.

Now, finally, let's take a look at the data, the thing that we've all been waiting for. So you know what first, let's start off by taking a look at the frame rate charts at both uh, you know 60 fps and 90 fps at the top. We have the 60 fps frame rate chart and at the bottom we have the 90 fps, and you can see very clearly that the dips are far fewer in between in the frame rate charts and where the dips happen at around. You know, between the 14 and the 16-minute mark on the 60 fps chart. It is because I actually died, and I had to start the game again.

So you know there was loading screens that were happening and even around the 20-minute mark, that's where it happened, that's where the dip happened. Now, if these dips are not there, then we're looking at almost 100. You know gaming stability, or at least 99. So that's great! Now, when you're looking at you know the 90 fps gaming chart, you can see that it started off playing at 90 fps and then there was a different. The loading screen happened at around.

You know the six to seven eight minute mark at around the seven-minute mark and this actually dropped drastically down to 60 fps, a consistent 60 fps at around 10 minutes, and that is what is completely disheartening for me, and that is something that's happening. The throttling is absolutely happening, and this is a shocking revelation. Uh, considering the fact that we were waiting for 90 fps gaming, but then, if 90 fps is not going to be sustained, then that is not something worth you know making a big deal of. So I would definitely play at HDR extreme on pub g with 60 fps, consistent, 60 fps, because then your gameplay will not get affected and now. Finally, let's take a look at the difference in the performance in the game bench chart to start off with the median fps at 90.

Fps is actually 60 fps and even at 60fps it's at 60fps. So that's definitely one thing. That's disappointing, but what's the most disappointing thing is that at 90 fps you get a fps stability of just 68, it's probably higher with when you take the load screens, and you know out of the equation. It should probably go to 75 at best, but with 60 fps HDR, extreme gaming, you get close to 98 stability, which again would go higher if the load screens weren't present and the whole uh. You know the scenario is actually pretty uh disappointing for the 90 fps gaming and temperatures, of course, are almost on par, but both the in both the situations the phones do get hot.

So I'm guessing that if you play it smooth and extreme at 60 fps, I think the phone won't get as hot, but it does get a little hot, and you know it does get around the 42 degrees which is on par on both. So these are our final findings of the 90 fps gaming on the OnePlus 8 pro. What did you guys? Think of it do. Let me know in the comment section below I had a lot of fun doing this test until next time. This is ashlar from Mr phone signing off goodbye and godspeed.

My friends, you.
