2018 iPad Pro vs 2020 iPad Pro: REAL WORLD Comparison! By SimplyPops

So, as you guys know, Apple has recently refreshed the iPad Pro I. Have it here right in front of me and I also have the 2018 model right here using it for about a week now, I want to do a speed test to see. Is there a big difference between the a12 z chip versus the 12x chip, which is a very capable processor to this day? Now, as you guys can see, there's a size difference. This is the twelve point nine inch display. This is the eleven-inch display. I am working on the size, comparison, video so make sure you guys subscribe with notifications on.

So you guys don't miss that video, and yet this is a tough picking between these two sizes is definitely a tough decision. That's why I have to make a dedicated video talking about it, because what people like, of course, I'm going to throw down below, but while further ado, let's just move on to the speed test, now I'm going to do some app launching, so I'm going to test out some Apple apps, and I'm going to us out some third-party applications too as well. You have that same beautiful 120, Hertz display, so there's nothing new there. They didn't bump it up to 240 or nothing like that. It's the same exact thing now before I.

Do anything I'm, gonna, clear out all apps running in the background. Alright, so all apps are cleared in the background on both devices, as you guys can see, there's just no apps run in the background now the first test, I'm gonna, do I'm going to launch up some Apple apps. So we have the calendar and three two one: okay, very identical speeds: okay, let's test out the clock, three, two one: okay, it looks like the 11-inch was a bit faster. Let's test out the camera, three two one: okay for the home, app three, two one yeah very identical like it's, not even it's not even close like it's just it's together, it's literally together, okay settings, three, two one exactly the same, just test out the stocks app three two one: okay, this one had to load up the splash page. Let's test out the news application three two one yeah see exactly the same sequence and even probably the same loading times.

Alright, this one was a little faster to load, but for the most part, is not like a big huge difference, so you can see how much content you can fit on one screen on the twelve point: nine inch, so you see two news articles here and this one. You only see one at a time, and then you have you know the rows here. Let's launch up the App Store three two one, but for the most part, very similar speeds. Let's move on to third-party application, so I'm going to test out the YouTube app. So, let's open up YouTube in three two one: okay, so YouTube's opened up faster on the twelve point: nine inch; okay, let's launch up Twitter and three two one yeah that was fast definitely on the 11-inch Goddard 2018 iPad, pro Facebook in three two one: okay, actually didn't even log on.

Let's test out the Apple Store app three two one faster on the 11-inch actually taking a long time on the well, it's my first time. Okay, all right: okay, let's launch up Instagram which to this day there is no official Instagram app on the iPad, all right, so three to one and yeah very identical, very identical. Shout to the weekend. Alright, let's launch up my TV remote application, the Logitech harmony in three two one so yeah. This is actually my remote control on my TV.

Don't waste your money! If you have the 2018 iPad Pro you're gonna, be just fine in terms of the launch speeds, you guys get the idea. It's going to be very identical, if not maybe a millisecond faster on the 11-inch iPad Pro, but for the most part, is not a day and night difference. So your everyday applications launch up pretty fast. So, let's test out some heavier applications, so I'm going to go into this folder we're going to launch games like Call of Duty for tonight, Mario Kart, but let's start off with Mario Kart, first and three, two one: let's see which one loads up faster: no ok, game center, oh I hate this I really do hate this all. You can't even activate two devices aw.

This is gonna, make things difficult, and we got let this download I'll be right back, we have to see how fast is going to download. Oh great, is there going to be a hiccup any anything like that? I wanted to do.250 CC, but I need to unlock it. Okay, let's test out Call of Duty in three two one: okay, I have a cut in my hand, so I apologize for that. It's trying to heal, don't make sense to put a band-aid. Okay, I, don't know I hate.

Doing this having it side by side, yeah I can do this okay, so it did load up faster. On the twelve point, nine-inch, iPad 2020 iPad, now we're going to tap on start. Oh, it's a different mat. Alright, so the 11 inch was on Nuke town. This is on a different map, but for the most part we're just testing out the performance.

So remember. The 812 x chip has seven cores for the GPU performance. So for gaming, it's still a beast is still a monster, but oh I, don't know who I was thinking, I, don't know whatever, but it's still a beast is still a monster and even in 2020 this is still no slouch. It's just like the 2018 iPad Pro there's no lag alright, so Temple Run one and three two one and yeah they're off now any app that's run in the background, didn't kill and look they both run smooth argue they probably very, very identical, Wow, okay, so Temple Run 2 drop a like on this. Remember the Temple Run, the good old days of being in class. Trying to play temple run three two one, don't yeah they move very similar, maybe just a smudge will play temple run on both devices. Shall we let's play Temple Run 2 is a little more graphical, demanding I, don't have a have temple 1 ? do I, have Temple Run 2 3 2 1, let's see which one loads up faster? Ok, the 20/20 iPad Pro loaded down one a little faster and tons of frame rate very identical three to one though ok. So this is the real game yeah and, ladies and gentlemen, flappy bird is back. Don't think they support it for the new iPads they're not taking the entire display, but yeah still playable, ok, wow, it's really back! Are we gonna? It's just so similar to the point where it's like, whatever I like this move. Oh, let's move away from the games.

Man now before I get off the games. I want to test out fortnight. Fortnight is a heavy application. Wow, I was bad one more game, I want to test out asphalt, 9. This is an intensive game right here, so 3 2 1 and we going to flip these iPads around.

So you guys can see. I got the light clear right there, so I apologize for that yeah see if I get rid of that clear. Oh well, there's a glare there, so I apologize for that. Okay, I, actually finish. First on the 20/20 I just realized that no oh yeah, that's that one up all right: let's move away from the games and let's get on to productivity, so we got a launch of bloomer fusion.

So three two one so keep in mind all the apps are running in the background still including the games and everything and yeah. So I was editing. My Samsung Galaxy s, 20 ultra review on my iPad Pro 2020 12.9 yeah, so full-blown YouTube video right here edited on my iPad. What a time to pay a lot this one. So this is the footage that we're gonna work with, and we're going to put it right here on number fusion, and we're gonna.

Do maximum quality, so we're going to have the ultra quality I'm going to have everything max, so let's go for it and yeah. Let's go alright, so yeah, it's exactly the same. These two iPads are certified. Beast I mean whatever, which one you go with. You're going to have the same exact experience.

You might have a little more fun with that light. Our sensor on the back of the iPad here, but for now there's no app supporting the LIDAR really or taking it to the full potential, but it is very accurate, especially having with the measure app but performance wise. Exactly the same I mean exactly the same now as you guys can see both of the iPads are running iPad, OS 13.4, so there are no tricks up. My sleeve just want to have the older version, and this one doesn't it's exactly the same. All right, so we're going to do a CPU test with all the applications run in the background.

Okay, let's do the CPU benchmark three, two one. At the same time, all right so the iPad 2020 finish just right after the 11 inch, 2018 iPad Pro. So as the guys can see yeah this one does outperform it, but not by much. You know the single core score is still higher on the 2018 iPad Pro and the 20/20 iPad Pro actually has a lower single core score, but the multi-core score is slightly higher. I mean if I do this again results Mayberry, but it's going to be somewhere along those lines, and we're gonna start testing three two ones.

So it's going to test out the RAM, the CPU. This is the ultimate test, so it's going to have like some kind of game going to testing out the frame rate. To give you a score all right so that one took a while, but um I don't know these devices are probably hot yeah. This iPad Pro forget about it blazing hot the Tony iPad is hot, but this one here I need it. Let it cool I, don't want it to create a battery life, and this is where I'm going to end out the video.

So, as you guys can see, we have 653,000. Alright and then this one here, we have 521 thousands, so we have a hundred thousand difference between it. Okay, so let's go back. We're going to go all the way back to the beginning, so we have the calendar app and yeah. They both have to refresh they very quick to get back into the app let's test out temper one and yeah, so they both have to refresh let's go back into Lima fusion actually and see if it memorized that okay, the iPad 2020 actually remembered Lima fusion.
