Oppo Find X3 Pro Pros and Cons: should you buy it?

A portion of this video is sponsored by skill share we're not even halfway through the month of march, and we're already getting flagship devices at a steady pace for 2021 and the latest device. Is the Oppo find x3 pro now I've been using this device for about 10 days now, and I do have a full review coming up within the next week or so make sure you subscribe to the channel and hit that bell icon as well. If you want to see that as soon as it's online, but I'm also going to be doing camera comparisons between this smartphone and other flagship devices that are already out on the market so make sure to stay tuned. For that now, while I was going to start my coverage off of this device, with a video of five reasons why you shouldn't buy the apple, find x3 pro after using it for this long. I honestly couldn't come up with five reasons why anybody wouldn't want to buy this device so to be a little more fair. I've shifted it over to these pros and cons list highlight the best and the worst features, or mainly the features that annoy me the most about this smartphone, but before we get into that, let me just go over some basics.

Here we get a 6.7 inch, quad HD plus display up front with a billion colors that it can reproduce and honestly, it's really, really good. It's powered by a Qualcomm snapdragon 888 processors, on the inside with 12 gigabytes of ram, and then we get a quad camera system on the back with two 50 megapixel Sony, mix, 766, sensors for the standard and the ultra-wide camera which we're going to touch on that in a minute, a micro camera which is completely unique from anything else that we've ever seen before and then a 13 megapixel uh, not an ultra-wide, already touched on that, but a 13 megapixel zoom camera on the back and then for the front facing selfie camera that peeks through the display. It has a 32 megapixel sensor. So now that we've gotten over the basics- let's jump into the pros of this device- and I think a lot of people will not agree with me on this one, but I think the design here is a big pro. As you can see, it has a shiny glass back finish on the back.

This is technically glass, but if you take a look at it, it's more of a silver color with the reflections and the downside here is, of course it is a fingerprint magnet, but it is so glossy on the back that the fingerprints are extremely easy to wipe away and if you're, not a fan of fingerprints, you can definitely get rid of them by just using the included case that comes with the device. That's one of the positives that Oppo has with their smartphones. Are they always throw in the case just so that you have one on hand without having to spend an extra 10 to 15 dollars in order to protect the device? But with that design I also want to highlight the unique camera module on the back of the phone where it's not a separate bump. But it's built in to the glass back gives it this cool, unique feature that looks more like a mound than anything else. Now.

A lot of people are complaining. I've seen complaints about this design simply because it doesn't look perfect when photographed, but honestly, once you get in get it into your hand, it looks pretty amazing, I'm a big fan of this design, because it's simply unique and there's really nothing else on the market. That's like it. One of the other items that I definitely want to put in the pros' column is the phone's display. Now I've already touched on some specs already, with its 6.7 inch size, quad, HD plus resolution and 120 hertz, refresh rate, which may sound like a lot of other devices that are currently on the market and that we saw last year. But this one is a little special.

The color accuracy seems to be perfect a lot better than what we've seen on some other devices, specifically Samsung devices, which seem to have a little more punch than they really need, and it probably comes down to being able to display one billion different colors. So it doesn't have to exaggerate certain colors to make up for some that might be missing in between one of the other things that I really love is that Oppo has also added a color calibration specifically for people who suffer from color blindness. For those who don't know, one out of 12 males and one out of 200 females suffer from some level of colorblindness, and they have specific tuning that allows people to individualize the colors on the display so that they see them more accurately more to what those who don't suffer from colorblindness do allow for a much higher level of enjoyment. On top of that, you also get a 1300 nits peak brightness, which makes this one of the best displays to use while out and about outdoors in direct sunlight, something that a lot more of us are doing. Now that the weather is getting better, of course, another item that I want to put in the pros list for the Oppo find x3 pro is its performance.

As you know, it's running a snapdragon 888 processors, with 12 gigabytes of ram. So if you are a mobile, gamer and love peak performance, this device will definitely do the trick. It can get a little hot if you are playing games for 30 minutes or up to an hour, but nothing that really slowed it down too much if you're playing Call of Duty, mobile or pub g or Fortnite. This thing will definitely do the trick, and those 12 gigabytes of ram also mean that if you're a multitasker you'll never have to wait for an app to load once you've loaded it the first time honestly, the performance of that ram and the ram management inside this device is phenomenal. But that brings us to the first con on the list and that has to do with the phone's battery.

Now it does have a 4 500 William hour cell, which seems like it should be enough to keep this device powered up for hours. On end and in regular use, it can make it through a full day without any issues. But if you are someone who wants to take advantage of the quad HD plus resolution and also the 120 hertz refresh rate, and you're planning on gaming on this phone for multiple hours a day that battery life takes a significant hit on a couple different occasions, I loaded up Call of Duty mobile and made it through a couple of hours of gaming and then finding out that I was already at 50 battery life, something that I didn't experience on devices like the galaxy s, 21 ultra. So just keep that in mind. Of course, there is a positive here, the pro with 65 watt, fast charging with opposite VOC charging or vouch charging, and they also have wireless charging as well.

If you have one of their wireless chargers that will also top off this battery in less than an hour. The nice thing is, though, they also have a unique battery management system that will, with artificial intelligence, detect when you're charging it based off of your usage habits, and if it figures out that you're plugging it in overnight, it will reduce the charging rate, so that will it will be fully charged by the time you wake up in the morning, so that the battery longevity on this device lasts more than a couple of years, because, as we all know, charging your device faster kills it quicker, but if you're charging it on a regular basis overnight, it's going to have that slower charging speed, which is a nice touch. Now, one of the things I'm most excited about with this device is the quad camera system on the back of the phone, which will allow you to take some pretty incredible pictures, but so will the sponsor of this video skill share if you're not familiar with skill share it's an online platform. That's designed to help you learn new skills, with unlimited access to thousands of classes with hands-on projects and community feedback. It honestly doesn't matter if you're looking to become a better cook, learn to photoshop for the very first time or become a master.

Coder skill share has a class for you personally. I've been using skill share for the last couple of months to improve my photography skills since it's something that I do on a regular basis for personal reasons, but also for work and videos like this. Anyone can take a picture with a DSLR or a smartphone, because the tools are really easy to use these days, but the knowledge that I've gotten through skill share's fundamentals of photo editing class have been invaluable and have allowed me to fine-tune my work and deliver images that are a lot more compelling than they were before. The courses are extremely engaging with great videos that allow you to follow along and a ton of extra materials that have helped guide me through the editing process and allowed me to learn on my own pace as a sponsor for this. Video skill share is offering a free trial of its premium membership to the first thousand of my subscribers who join by clicking on the link in the description below, and that brings us back to the cameras on the Oppo find x3 pro now.

As I mentioned earlier, both of the standard and the ultrawide cameras feature a 50 megapixel sensor, and this is extremely important simply for the fact that ultrawide cameras have always gotten an inferior sensor. Typically, one that's smaller and less color accurate than the main sensor, but both of these are Sony mix, 766 sensors, which are top of the line and were just announced in December, and I have to say, the color accuracy between those two sensors is spot on in daylight conditions and low light conditions, which is one of the areas where ultra-wide cameras have really always not performed really. Well. I really have to say that this is probably one of the best ultra-wide cameras that I've ever tested on a smartphone, and that brings us to something that's neither a pro nor a con, and that has to be the micro camera. On the back of this phone, it's a three megapixel sensor, and it's completely different from all the macro cameras that you see, they're, really focusing this more as a periscope, not a periscope, a microscope camera which allows you to get really close into a subject and capture an image.

Honestly like you simply have to touch the object, and it's illuminated by the ring light on the back now. This is very interesting because it's 30 or 60x magnification, which, if you put it up to the display another smartphone, you can see the sub pixel layout of that display or put it up to a piece of cloth or material, and you can see the individual threads up really close. If you have children, this is going to be extremely entertaining for them to run around and take pictures of things to see what they're actually made up of, but as a regular person, someone who captures photos of their family or something on vacation. It's not going to be something that most people are going to use that, often, after that initial phase of excitement wears off. But honestly, I'd love to see this.

As a standalone feature, something that can be paired to a smartphone or a tablet in the education space for children to explore the world around them- and you know really get up and close with the objects that make up our lives, which could be something interesting for someone else or even opp, to explore at that. And that brings me to the final item on my list, which is a con and, if you've seen any of my previous videos, you probably already know this by now, but I'm not a fan of the phone's size. I simply don't think that there's really much benefit of having a 6.7 inch display and having a device this large, especially if you don't get a larger battery to go along with it compared to the galaxy s21 ultra, which has an additional 500 Williams of battery power. This one here just leaves me disappointed if the device could last an extra hour or two into the day or give me an extra hour of gaming time on the device that size could definitely be justified, but with battery performance, the way it is and the size of this phone. The way it is, I think, a smaller device would have been a little better and that's going to do it for my pros and cons list for the Oppo find x3 pro.

Let me know what you think of this device and whether you agree with the items that I've pointed out today for my full review and camera comparisons, make sure you subscribe to the channel stay tuned for those. Thank you guys so much for watching, and I'll catch you in the next one.
