OnePlus 8T: 5 best and 5 worst things

OnePlus's latest and greatest is here: you guys know the deal before our full review, we're going to be taking a look at some of the best and worst things about the OnePlus 8t, as always starting off with the good stuff we're looking at the display. This is one clean panel. That's both a joy to look at and a joy to use it's a flat 6.55 inch, 120 hertz, fluid AMOLED display 2400 by 1080. So it may not sound all that impressive, but it really is one of the nicest a phone can offer it's bright. It's colorful and, as Ryan stated in our written review, it's exquisitely smooth, and even I'm really, really picky about displays- and this is perfect. So I think it's safe to say that OnePlus put out a winner with this one.

Next we're talking performance in just about every aspect. The 8t is blazing fast and very powerful. Everyday use is nowhere near being a concern there's more than enough ram with 12 gigabytes. There's UFS, 3.1 storage with faster write speeds. It can handle all kinds of multitasking.

It can handle all kinds of gaming, anything and everything. Furthermore, it's great when it comes to OnePlus phones, performance is top tier and the 8t is no exception. The 80s battery life is also on the positive side of things. With this 4 500 William hour battery, you can expect to easily make it through a full day's use on a single charge and, depending on your use case, you'll be able to make it to well over five hours of screen on time no sweat. I know in my use I'm able to get a good amount over six hours with normal use.

It's strong and reliable when the battery does eventually run out.65 watt fast charging is there to help with this technology. The ATS battery can charge from dead to 100 in just under 40 minutes and up to over 50 percent in only 15 minutes of charging and remember this is a 4500 William hour battery. So this isn't a small one. So this tech is legit, and those numbers are impressive. Next hardware, the 80s design is a little different from what we're used to seeing from OnePlus, but it's still a nice clean design with attractive color options.

The build quality is rock solid and the phone feels great in the hand the signature alert slider is still here. Of course, the camera bump isn't massive, so that's great, the haptics feel perfect and overall we like how well put together this phone is now before we move on to the not so great things. I just wanted to give a quick shout out to this video sponsor brand. They make awesome looking skins for all kinds of devices. I've actually been using one of their skins on my at because I'm just not a fan of the classy back at all.

You can check out all the skins, the cases and other accessories brand offers by using the very first link in the description, okay, so the not so great stuff. First up, there's no wireless charging for the price. This phone goes for. We feel that wireless charging should have been a thing. You can make the argument that, because of the superfast, perhaps more practical, 65 watt, fast wired charging wireless charging isn't necessary, but again at this price point, why not implement it speaking of price? Let's talk about that real quick 750 dollars is a solid price overall, especially when you consider what seems like countless 1, 000, plus dollar phones out there.

This price tag is far more palatable, but on the flip side, we're seeing just how competitive it's getting in this price tier and the main competitor that quickly comes to mind is Samsung's galaxy, s20 Fe, which not only starts at 50 less than the 8c, and has already been on sale here and there. But it also has a number of things the 8t just doesn't offer, which helps contribute to the 8t, not being the easiest of recommendations. Next, there's, no official IP rating, at least there isn't one for the unlocked model. The T-Mobile version does actually have one, and chances are the two models are the same, but without that rating on the spec sheet, we are unable to be sure of that either way. It is quite strange as to why the T-Mobile variant gets a clear-cut and obvious IP rating and the unlocked one does not.

Second to last the cameras. Now the main and ultrawide cameras are actually fine. It's the other cameras that aren't exactly hits. The 8t has a monochrome sensor that aims to enhance dynamic range, but we found that it doesn't appear to make a huge difference and in addition to that, the macro camera just isn't good it'll, be a neat little party trick for a couple seconds. But honestly, we feel that the traditional camera trifecta would have been the better move here.

Lastly, sell signal: the app team has been experiencing some issues with connectivity on the at David said that cell signal has been pretty terrible for him and in our written review, rein states that in certain areas his 8t would regularly lose connection where other phones wouldn't have an issue. In my use, I thought I may have been doing something wrong, but nope it hasn't been as bad as it's been for some other people, but it was definitely noticeable. It's pretty unfortunate make sure you keep an eye out for our full review of the 8t.
