Xiaomi Redmi Note 9T VS iPhone 12 - Camera Comparison

What's happening everyone, my name is Alex and welcome back for this camera comparison. We have one of the latest phones from Xiaomi. The super, affordable, Redmi, note 90, and then we have the iPhone 12 Pro max. Now, don't get me wrong, throw this video. We are not trying to find out which phone takes better pictures and videos. We kind of know that already the main purpose of this video is to actually show you what an affordable device like the Redmi Note 90 can do when compared to a flagship like the iPhone 12 Pro max.

The camera systems on their backs are also a bit different. So on the back of the Redmi Note, 90 we have the main camera, which is a 48 megapixel sensor. We have a macro lens, another camera used for portrait mode pictures, so I'm not going to be able to show you any pictures taken the ultra-wide lens, because there is no ultra-wide lens on the back and with that being said, I think we should start by checking out some daytime pictures that I took with the main lenses on the back of these two devices. Alright, so the pictures that you are seeing on your screen right now were all taken on auto mode on both devices about a second, apart from each other, maybe less than that. The main difference here is the fact that the Xiaomi is using somewhat warmer tones where the iPhone is using somewhat cooler tones.

So you can see that the pictures taken by the Xiaomi look a bit more towards yellow, where the pictures from the iPhone look a bit more um towards blue. So this definitely comes to your personal preference. I personally prefer a lot of the pictures taken by the Xiaomi when compared to the ones I'm taking by the iPhone 12 Pro max. I find that some of those pictures taken by the iPhone are just a bit too blue for my taste as for dynamic range, it seems that the iPhone does seem to do better in most situations, but there are a couple of pictures where the Xiaomi actually does better, which is quite surprising, because this one is literally like six times cheaper. So I have to say for the main lens.

I was surprised how good the Xiaomi did when compared them to such an expensive device like the iPhone 12 Pro max. I've also done two times zoom. I use that because um this way the iPhone is not using the telephoto lens, so I've done two times zoom on both devices, and here it seems that the iPhone does do better um for every single picture. The pictures do look a bit sharper, but I do like that. The pictures from the Xiaomi when I do two times zoom, are a bit brighter in some situations, of course, so that was um two times zoom and I also took some portrait mode pictures of myself just in case you wanted to see more of me now here.

I have to say that I kind of prefer the pictures from the Xiaomi the iPhone changes, the color of my face way too much. So I don't really like um how some of those some pictures look so yeah main cameras during the day on the Xiaomi Redmi Note 90 and the iPhone 12 Pro max. So what do you guys think about those daytime pictures? Personally, I feel that the Xiaomi Redmi Note 90 did really well mostly taking in consideration the price because, as I said, this one is six or seven times cheaper than the iPhone 12 Pro max so for daytime pictures um. The Redmi Note 90 does really, really well next we're moving on to some nighttime pictures and for all the nighttime pictures that you're about to see. I use the night modes on both devices.

So all the pictures that you're seeing on your screen right now were done with the night mode. Of course, the sensor inside the iPhone 12 Pro max is much larger than the sensor that we have on the Redmi Note 19. Therefore, the iPhone can capture way more light, and you can definitely see this in all these pictures that I'm showing you most pictures taken by the iPhone 12 Pro max are way sharper and brighter. So, of course, there is no comparison here, but I just wanted to show you how the Redmi Note 90 does um in darker places, basically because there are situations when there aren't as many lights around you, and you do need that night mode. So I feel that the Redmi Note 90 does appropriately for its price.

Of course, it's not going to do anywhere as good as the iPhone, which is much more expensive, but good enough for the price. In my opinion, so yeah leave a comment down below and let me know your thoughts about those nighttime pictures that we took with the Redmi Note 19. All right. Next, we're going to move on and check out some sample recordings, so the Redmi Note 90 can actually do 4k recordings, but unfortunately we don't get any stabilization for 4k recordings. If you're recording in 1080p at 30 frames per second with the front and with the back cameras, then we have image stabilization now.

Of course, all the videos are better from the iPhone 12 from max. But, as I said the beginning of this video, I just wanted to show you how this device would do when compared to such an expensive device like the iPhone- and that being said, let's check out those sample recordings, and I will be right back all right. We have a quick video recording between the Xiaomi Redmi Note, 90 and, of course, the iPhone 12 Pro max for this recording I'm doing 1080p at 30 frames per second and, of course, at this resolution, both devices have image stabilization. Now I could also record in 4k at 30 frames per second with both devices. However, that resolution uh, the Xiaomi, doesn't have image stabilization.

So for that reason we are doing 1080p. So I'm just going to walk this way for a bit, so you can see how the image stabilization would do while walking and from what I'm seeing on the screen here. The image stabilization is a bit better on the show, but again I'll have to see how this footage actually looks. Um on the computer, so yeah 1080p at 30 frames per second between these two devices, and I also want to show you how 4k at 30 frames per second recording would look like, because I know that some people do prefer recording. So, as I mentioned earlier, this resolution of the Xiaomi doesn't have image stabilization.

But again you could always use a gimbals, so you can make your footage a bit steadier, so yeah main lenses on the back of the two devices and 4k at 30 frames per second we're just going to stop somewhere around here, and we'll pan right slowly up a bit all right. I have a quick video recording in low light between the Xiaomi Redmi Note 90 and the iPhone 12 Pro max for this recording I'm doing 1080p at 30 frames per second, as you can probably see for yourself, I am walking very slow, it's also pretty quiet, so you should only hear my voice, so we're gonna, pan left, and we'll keep walking this way for a bit. This way you can see how the image stabilization does on both devices, so this resolution 1080p at 30 frames per second. They both have image stabilization, so we're going to stop somewhere around here, just after we pass um this light, we're going to pan right, slowly and once again back left. So this whole recording in low light between these two devices would look like, and I also want to show you how recording, with the front-facing cameras on the Xiaomi, Redmi Note, 90 and, of course, the iPhone 12 one pro max would look like now with the iPhone.

I can also do 4k 30 frames per second recording and that's the resolution that we are using right now. Well, the Xiaomi, the maximum recording resolution for the front facing camera is 1080p, but at least we have any stabilization for the front-facing camera as well so yeah. This is how recording with the front facing camera on these two devices would look like on a freezing day and, lastly, we're gonna check out some selfies and, of course we are starting with some daytime selfies. Now the iPhone does have the sharper selfies. They do have more detail in them, but I personally kind of like the colors from the selfies taken by the Xiaomi Redmi Note 90.

They do seem a bit more natural because my face never looked as red as it looks in those pictures taken by the iPhone 12 Pro max so for colors. Yes, I do prefer um the pictures taken by the Xiaomi. As for nighttime selfies, the iPhone does seem to do better, but, surprisingly enough, the Xiaomi doesn't do bad at all, mostly considering that we don't have a night mode forum selfies. So there you have it. This is the Xiaomi Redmi Note 90.

What do you guys think about the cameras on the back and on the front of this device? Is it worth the price or not? Definitely leave a comment down below and let me know alright guys. Hopefully you enjoyed this video. If you did like it, don't forget to press that, like button, don't forget to subscribe, and I'll see you guys in the next one thanks for watching.
