Xiaomi Mi Watch: I bought it! Unboxing & in-depth first look!

Hey guys welcome back to another video with Lima reviews, so I'm super excited today, because um, if you've seen the video I'm done under me, wash well guess what I finally got my hands on the retail unit. This card is like a few minutes ago, and I'm super, super happy to bring this to you guys because um alright, just to let you know I've already unboxed it like I'm a few minutes ago and here's the watch guys. This is the watch. Look at that sexy baby, guys whew all this sexiness in my hand, right now. Look at this alright, so super excited because I just got a mean watch and the best part about this new watch is that I was able to change the language to English. So that means this works with English right now.

So let me just jump into the very, very quick unboxing and show you more about this mini watch, alright guys. So what we get in the box is fairly standard. Of course, you get. The mini watch itself a couple of manuals. We also have this pretty cool charger right here.

So all you need to do is just attach the watch magnetically to the dock itself, and it will charge up pretty well very easy to use. Sammy is also kind enough to provide us with a charging head, so pretty cool of Sammy to provide us with this, because you don't usually get this in a box alright, so that's it for what we get in a box. The main thing we're here to look at is the watch itself, so before we start on checking out the watch. Let's look at the build quality of this mini wash I'm really pleased to say that now everything here is very heavy. Very nice materials used around the watch.

This is stainless steel. At the front we have our AMOLED display, which gets very bright, and it is vibrant. The texts are sharp. More importantly, the brightness levels get really high, so you can see information very clearly, even when you're out under this Sun. Apart from that, we also get this very nice leave feeling rubber straps there we have here under wash itself.

These are stoppable, as you can see, through the little latches that we have on the straps here, so very user-friendly in the middle. Here we get this little crown that we can use to rotate just to navigate through the menus. Of course, it is a touch operator, so you can either use the touch or you can use this little knob right here and just to quickly conclude. The build quality is pretty good on me. Watch I have nothing to complain about here.

So in order to get your me watch running with your Android device, bear in mind, it doesn't work with iOS for now, so it only works with Android, and all you need to do is download the me where app as well as the where OS for a Google app. So you have to download these two apps and the setup is fairly easy. It is very straightforward. All you need to do is follow the simple instructions that shows up on the phone itself, and it will take you about six to seven minutes to get the entire set up. So you know, I have my watch that is already set up and first up because it is Android wear the watch is able to run natively on English.

So what I mean by that is just. Let me show you very quickly if I go into these settings right here, you'll notice that the language of everything here is in English. So that's great news right. However, the bad news is the apps that are running on this watch are all in Chinese, so everything else will only show up in Chinese that you see right here. So apart from the notifications and the calendar, that is on the watch itself, everything else all the other apps that are downloaded via the UI watch app store is all in Chinese.

So let me just show you really quickly. I have all this list of apps right here, and it's really cool that you are able to download so many apps onto the watch, but notice that this is the App Store and if you just enter it, everything shows up in Chinese. So if you're not able to understand Chinese for now, I would highly recommend that you just wait for the global version or maybe for a sell me to at least release more English apps, because every app that is currently in the App Store right here is all in Chinese, so good thing that I can understand. Chinese, so I have downloaded a couple of apps here. So let me just go through a couple of apps to show you what we're getting here.

So he have the phone app. As you know, we are able to make phone calls using this a Smartwatch. Sorry about that. So here I have my call history and thankfully my contacts books are all in English. So I have all these names here and, as you can see, the navigation is really smooth.

It is very comfortable to use alright. So if we go into the messaging app I, don't have any funny messages here. So I can just drive it to you. So this is in Chinese. Let me just show you something else.

If you go into your heart rate, so this will also be in Chinese, but you have a lot of information here. It will show you all the basics kind of information that you expect from a fitness Smartwatch to actually show you so moving back. Let me just show you what else it comes with. You have your standard alarm, so this alarm you can set your alarms to ring from the watch itself. One thing I found pretty cool is that the music app is able to play music.

So let me just show you really quickly. I mean it's going to this music app right here and notice that, because my watch is already connected to my phone, so it already is able to connect to the wireless data. And here let me just show you the watch plains of music, all right, I, better! Stop that music, if not I, might get a copyright claim. So this is pretty cool because you're able to play music directly from the speaker itself. It may be smart to some, but it may also be pretty silly because I'm I mean like who will seriously displace music on their watch.

At least I know I'm, not one of them, but I wouldn't laugh at anyone who is doing so. So if you have the radio app of course, once again, this is in Chinese, so you will be able to play the radio some podcasts running over the watch itself. I can just really imagine how cool is it if it is able to support like Spotify, because then you can play all sorts of stuff from the watch itself, so here I've got the particular podcast going. Let me just try and increase the volume right there alright. So this is the current maximum volume.

You can just try and listen to it and judge for yourself. The quality of the speaker I. Think it's pretty good here. Alright I think that's it for now for this application, let's go back and check out what else we have here. Let's see, oh, so we also have the Maps app, and this is because this is in China.

So obviously this is a Chinese Maps app and let me just show you quickly how it runs on the device, so GPS locks up pretty quickly. I've got myself locked in there. Let's see how long it takes for it to load alright. So, as you can see, the Maps app is able to launch up, and the good thing is because this screen is a pretty big for a watch. I know it's still like freaking small, but yeah you're still able to navigate through this watch here just to look around at the maps and of course you can navigate through this app as well.

If you want to search for a location, all you need to do is hit that tiny little search button, and you can either choose to type in using this very small keyboard. So you have fingers like me, then you will not be able to type in the place, but let me just try and key in something. So let's try it. He and her, and here I go Bob there we go and see it shows up right away. So if you're able to type on the watch itself using a tiny keyboard, you can try that it says that it is 2.6 kilometers away. Otherwise, you can also use the voice command.

So let me just try and check it out, so it says connecting IAN ha and there we go super easy to use all right, so Maps apps, it runs really well, hopefully we'll be able to support the Google Maps in the future. So otherwise, let me just show you how you really navigate to the watch. It is very standard if you swipe down from the top here, you get your own of duplication bar all your notifications are in here and if you swipe up from the bottom here, you get all your shortcut keys. A couple of stuff here, very simple to use as well. If you swipe in from the left here is where you get a couple of widgets.

This is your weather, your reminders, as well as a calendar, so you only restricted to these three widgets at the moment. Let's go back. Okay and of course, if you swipe to the right here, you will find your different colors so because this is running on where OS this stylus should be very familiar to you. If you're already using an Android, wear Smartwatch and of course you can add more tiles here by just long pressing it and have the plus button, and there you go, you can just add in all the kind of tiles that you have on the watch. So of course, because this is a fitness tracker, it will also be able to track a couple of activities such as walking running cycling and swimming, and here we have this shortcut.

Key and I have actually programmed it to launch the fitness app right away. So all I need to do is hit that button, and you will launch the fitness app right away, so I can choose here and the kind of activities that I want to do right now, for example, let's say I want to go for running, all I need to do is hit, go, and we'll be ready to go so. Okay, obviously I'm, not gonna, make a run right now. So let me get up there. I can just hit this.

Oh, I can just hit this to get out of the run and yep. So all right there, you go very easy to use me watch so far, I've been pretty satisfied with this device. I'm definitely going to be testing it out more, especially on the fitness side of things. Oh one, more thing, I forgot to mention is the always-on display. So if you notice here, we have this a very stop down looking clock and the downside about this always-on display is that it is very, very dim, so I know that the battery on this watch is only able to last about one and a half days on a full battery, so having this one on might actually reduce the battery to just one day, all right, so I'm not sure.

If you notice from when I started, the video I had like a bit more percentage of battery, but now it's down to 42. So, even while filming this video I've been only using it for like an hour, and it is already dropped like 10%, so battery life on this watch is not great I'm expecting at most this one day or one day plus, but like I said this is just an initial review. I would definitely put it through its paces and report back to you on my full experience. Alright guys, that's it for this video. If you have any questions, please feel free to.

Let me know down in the comment section below I apologize for the non-stop like out-of-focus kind of image, because the watch is tiny, and it is a bit difficult to focus on this tiny little frame, but I hope you've learned something from this video and yeah. If you feel good, don't forget to hit that like button, and I'll, see you guys in the next one bye.
