Oh, guys welcome to the big unbox, where we do that small tech, and today I am back with another big unboxing for you, and today we're back with the tempered glass screen protector from top ace for the BlackBerry key to the first tempered glass screen protector I did for the BlackBerry key to be a definite epic fail, probably one of the worst ones I've seen in a long time, especially for a phone that really doesn't have any curves. So it's pretty much a straight shot of should be easy to build, so we'll check this, and I'll from top ace 999. It looks like its free shipping, I'm, not sure if it's on prime, at this point it's going to have those black borders, which I'm aren't really even sure it's necessary for such a small phone, but it does say full coverage out of 4. Review has gotten four stars, so we'll check it out ourselves and see if it's a hit or a miss for that blackberry. Presentation-Wise looks decent enough. You get a little summer, glass screen protector top ace, which is the company that makes it that's pretty much it Harper's 100% original machine size and on the backs of the more details about the company itself, I've actually used a couple of their cases or tempered glass screen protectors, I should say I, guess cases as well a lot for the OnePlus series.
So we'll see this one if it's a hit for the BlackBerry key to you guys liking that blackberry key to I've, been using as my daily driver for about almost a week now and I. It's its definitely interesting. It's definitely weird to go back to that keyboard. So it's taking a little of adjustment, I'm, not gonna, say I, love it, but I'm, not gonna, say I hate it either. It's definitely got some nice I really like the actual screen size in terms of build quality.
It's actually very compact, lightweight, and then I just think it's its definitely a different type of phone. Anybody else has rocking on the market right now. So it's definitely a very businesslike, which you know. If anybody in the business you're rocking with the BlackBerry you're, getting that full coverage that full protection as well so as I'm struggling to get this box supplements, give you some details about the actual installation, but we'll go ahead and try it ourselves. So you got the little instructions right here.
Your tempered glass screen protector and it is a little weird how small the screen is. But obviously this is going to be one of those full edge-to-edge. You do have that black border up top on the bottom and that sides as well we'll check it out and see if it's full adhesive, it doesn't appear to be I'm. Looking and I'm. Seeing something I will double-check, I'm, not sure how to % there may be just adhesive on the sides, which would be really disappointing for a screen protector again.
I. Don't really understand this, because there's no curve at all to this, at least that I'm not seeing eyes there any curve to this looks like a straight brick in terms of the screen, so I'm not sure exactly what the reason would be. It's not made that full glue, but we'll check it out and see you guys probably got some mandatory usual suspects right here. Got the alcohol prep pad got your microfiber cloth, which is very tiny, got a little dust, removal sticker, guys sticker and that's pretty much it. So what we'll do guys is we'll do this cut this on camera here? Give it a quick wipe down real quick so take your month or take your alcohol prep pad as your first step, give it a quick wipe down, get the corners, get the cracks you kind of get that top of that speaker as well any type of dirt that may be around there, get that off.
Do it in front of some type of direct lighting, if you guys have any type of LED lamps in front of you, those are the keys to getting all those like little hairs, dust particles off, because I know about you guys, but when I miss one it just drives me nuts, when I'm looking at that screen the next day, you know just one of those things that you just it kills me every day, I'm. Looking at that, oh man, how did I miss that drives me? Nuts anyways, that's my issue here. You guys so today. After that, take the microfiber cloth, give it a quick wipe down as well. At this point, you should be getting most of the dirt or any type of you know, grime off the screen itself.
Looking pretty nice, give it a quick onesie over and then the final step is take this dust sticker and I never used to use these, but really they actually do come in handy as that final, just kind of layer of getting any type of many dirt particles off the screen or any type of cracks, or anything like that. So they definitely take this. Do it an onesie over to Z over and get all that remaining dust particles off the screen itself? So this one looks pretty good: let's go and do it let see if it's a hit or miss so use a screen. Protector itself got a nice weight to it definitely looks pretty quality. It looks pretty premium.
Nothing lie about that. So what you kinda want to be going into, and I'm look at that right there, so that was just in the time frame. Then I was talking, so you got a little dirt that just popped on the screen, so just be on the lookout for that type of thing, because that could come up at any time so just be on the lookout for it. That's why you want to kind of do the installation as quick as possible, but you want to do, is kind of have a game plan going in I usually use the cutouts as my folk in my starting point, the front-facing camera speaker grille, and they kind of use my fingers as a guide for the sides as well. So what we're going to do is want to pop this off and definitely is not full adhesive, which is very disappointing.
Guys I'm, not gonna, lie about that. I was expecting to be full glue, especially for that price point is, it is going to affect the actual quality of the screen. It may because, if anybody's had a non-full glue screw protector, those just don't have the same quality feel to them. So again, I'm lining it up based upon the front facing camera, using my fingers to kind of guide it around the edges from that point, and then, with this one, you're gonna start in the middle, get all the air bubbles out of it. Because again, this one is not full glue, so your adhesive is just basically on the sides top and then bottom so make sure you're getting that starting at the end point or starting in the middle and then work your way out in terms of the air sockets.
So there we go actually looks pretty nice. Give you guys a look at that, so here's the tempered glass screen protector. You can see the cutout right there, and again you got that everything looks very nice in terms of the cutouts very close to being edge to edge protection. You can see almost the tempered glass screen protector hanging over the edge now look at that. So this is.
This is my issue with this type of thing. You look at that. Riser give you, so that is what you call a rainbow effect, and this is what happens when you get up screen protector. That's not full glue! You can see that right there in the middle that you got that rainbow effect popping through, and you can see that at certain angles, just because there's no full adhesive on there's just an air socket that it gets regardless because there's no adhesive on the inside. So that's going to drive me nuts and that's going to continue to search for a good timber glass screen protector.
I just don't understand why that would be the case with a screen that is pretty much fledged. You can be I'm, not sure why they will come out with an adhesive just on the sides now I understand on certain phones. Like you know, a galaxy has nine plus that's got that complete curve. Those are more difficult to make, but this one I don't know what the issue is. So overall, let's pop this on, let's turn on the screen, and also you can see, there's got these little dots.
You can almost see at certain angles, there are little dots as well. There's kind of like a dot matrix is what you call it. Let me turn it on real, quick and see the screen. Give you guys a look at this real quick I won't take up too much of your time, but give you guys a look at the screen itself. So that's what you can see those dots right there.
That's a good view of the dots right there popping through so overall guys, I would say for that price point. This one's going to be a Miss. You only get one, it's probably not going to be a hit because it's not full adhesive right out of the gate. You only get one price. Let's say it's a Miss.
Let me know what you guys think in the comment section. We want to say it's a Miss keep the search up for the BlackBerry key to. Let me know what you guys think the comment section hit or miss hit the subscribe button. We'll see you guys next time you.
