TCL 10L - Ultimate Low Light Video Test!

Hi there, my name's Dave West, I, hope you're all doing well spoke with a quick video showing you, the TCL 10 El Nido lighting, using the video function, and we can expect miracles from it in terms of low-light video performance. But this is just a quick video to give you an idea of how things look using TCL's budget handset in low-light. Now, as with the day like video test, I will leave all the main camera specifications down in the description and just run through some high-level features very quickly throughout this video to help save you some time so the front-facing camera cause video are up to 1080p at 30 frames per second, and you've got a toggle for an actual image. Stabilization on or off I have noticed if you just use the phone one-handed, the electronic image, stabilization, really struggles. I think it just operates on a limited axis, rather than some phones which operate on. Maybe a four axis stabilization method, because there is a lot of wobble up and down and left and right, even when just using it one-handed very, very carefully.

I'll show you think like street lighting. Just behind me here, I mean clay, isn't too bad again. This is par for the course, with most mobile handsets you'll get that kind of weird flavor effect. These two, the front-facing camera because. This sensor is so small I'm.

Just using the phone one hand you know, and you can see, it's got quite a lot of shakes even if I hold the phone is rigidly as possible before use both hands, it's not too bad and in a well-lit area. So if you're going to take your phone to a gig or outdoor concert, anything like that, where there's a lot of lights around it will flatter the camera help you get some reasonable video if you're going to be shooting in low-light, so I just switch to the rear, camera and I will just show you the video of 4k at 30 and also 1080 30, and show you how that looks why? So here we go, then this is 1080p at 30 frames per second just a quick sample. This is a great compromise. Ratio. Helps to save you some storage.

This is a 64 gigabyte base model, and you may want to save some space by recording in this resolution. So it's just to give you a quick idea of how this looks. This is what the electronic image stabilization switched on and while we've got some like around this I'll just show you the autofocus. Here we go, so it does get a lock, although it's much slower. Obviously in low-light, you see the mechanism kind of takes this time to move from subject to background, but again we're not looking for kind of amazing close-up results using video in low-light.

It's just if this is just to give you an idea of how things look if you need to use the phone in this way. Okay, so bumping up the resolution into 4k at 30 frames per second I have noticed when you start with you, you get a couple of jitters now, one again is the code that kind of gets into the swing of things and the crop is quite heavy. I mean that's building from the viewfinder. It does look a lot closer than what it actually is, but with a steady hand and the image stabilization switched on, you can get fairly good results if a little mushy, but that is not exclusive to these hands. It does happen on even far more expensive phones in case anyone asks.

This is how things look with the ultra wide-angle lens. You can see it's hardly legible at all, and this is the same with all ultra-wide lenses. They have a much higher f-stop value, which means they let in a lot less light into the lens, and it's pretty much unusable even with a decent amount of light around us. You saw from the 4k 13. You know they were street lighting up ahead of me here, and it's struggling to even bring that out.

But for the sake of completeness in case anyone was to ask, did I use the ultra-wide lens. This is how it looks. Okay, so there's a quick low-light video test with the TC l 10 L again.
