OnePlus 8T Unboxing & Overview (Retail Indian Unit)

Hi guys this is transit and in this video let's do the unboxing and have a first look at this OnePlus 8t and guys. This is not a review on it or anything. This is actually a retail unit. I purchased this from Hyderabad OnePlus store, I even ordered it via Amazon, but for some strange reason that delivery is showing me tomorrow. So I'll just cancel that so, let's open this up and for some strange reason in this Hyderabad store, which is a big store, they were insisting quite a bit on opening this uh device. They were not ready to give a sealed device.

I had to argue quite a bit. I don't know why but uh yeah, but finally, we got a seat piece and guys uh. This is the base variant that comes with eight gigabytes of ram and 128 gigabytes of storage. This is for 43 000. There is also one more variant that comes with 12 gigabytes of ram and 256 gigabytes of storage and that's for uh 46 000.

So that way I would say uh. The pricing of the upgrade is very good you're, getting 12 gigabytes of ram and 256 gigabytes of storage uh. So it says OnePlus 8t, so let's just open this up and have a look so again that big box and the big upgrade from the OnePlus 8 on this is that the new 65 watt charging uh that we have and now even on this one uh the. What do you say, uh screen panel is 120 hertz refresh rate, so this is the device, as you can see, we have a quad camera, but that fourth camera is again a new 12 uh? Two just two megapixels we'll talk about that one and see, I frankly still feel the one plus 70s uh ray triple camera was a better implementation but anyways. Let's look at this later uh and uh.

Let's open this up again, I like the packaging what they do. This is also a see, though I've cut it. Let's just open this so looks like um. Some manuals and stuff will be here. Yes, a bunch of menus.

Actually, it says highest SAR value ratings. It says and India it says is head is 1.07 and body is 0.85. So that's my safety input invitation later and all this thing you have a sim ejector tool over here. Quick start guide. This will be basic stuff and I don't know this red cable card or whatever ends some stickers.

Also. So, if you are an OnePlus fan you can put, and you have written blackhead red. So here we have uh. So let's open this up, nice uh that they are giving a case because again, I'm noticing some vendors have stopped giving the CPU case. So you get this, and it says never settle I'll.

Just keep that. So you have this cable again guys use this cable uh, because it is handling that 65 watt charger. That's the new thing, the wrap 65, they call it. This is the new charger that you're getting, and it's a big charger and uh. It's type c guys over here so type c to type c and uh according to OnePlus.

These are their claims uh. They say in 39 minutes it can charge it completely 100. So that's what we have and let's just keep this box to the side and this charger and let's look at this device. It said, let me zoom in a little guys uh, and you get two colors. This is that silver uh, gray, silver gray, tinted gives again back is glass on this one, and we also have one green ten to one has the one plus branding and uh on the top.

Actually we have a secondary noise cancellation microphone, and here we have the alert slider. I still like this on OnePlus. I just don't know why other vendors simply don't give this. So we have that we have the volume rocker just beneath that bottom will be the speaker again. This one also has stereo speakers, guys uh, that type c port and your sim tray is actually here again.

It will be dual sim and NATO guys so yeah, dual sim NATO and again uh. None of the OnePlus devices have micro, SD card. So again, uh decide upon the storage.128 gigabytes should be enough for most users, but again, if you're sort of power user go with that 256 gigabyte variant- and here we just oh so uh here we just have the volume rocker. So this is the power on off sorry about that uh. So, let's just power this on uh by the time it actually boots up- and we set it up here- is a configuration overview.

This one plus 80 is having a 6.5 inch, full HD, plus AMOLED screen uh with 120 hertz refresh rate. It is having the snapdragon 865 processors, it comes in eight or 12. Gigabytes of ram and storage will be 128 or 256. Moving to the camera, it's having a quad rear facing camera. The main sensor is a 48 megapixel, and fortunately it has optical image stabilization.

Then we have a 16 megapixel ultra-wide lens. We have next to 5 megapixels, that's for macro and a 2 megapixel monochrome lens moving to the front facing camera. It's a 16, megapixel shooter, and we also have stereo speakers NFC and a 4500mah battery with 65 watt fast charging so guys I have set up this device. So, let's have a closer look at the same now and, as you can see, uh it's having a 6.5-inch screen and now uh. Actually, this is not curved uh on the OnePlus 8.

It was slightly curved, and I feel this is actually a good thing uh, because that curve. Yes, it looks fancy and stuff, but this is more practical I would say so. I would say this is a good move and this is running on oxygen, OS 11 and these are the apps that are installed not a lot of bloatware or stuff. I would say, of course, google apps. We have Netflix, but again I won't mind so no banned apps or any uh huge.

What do you say, bloatware or stuff? Let's also go under the hood and look at how much storage do we have. This is the 128 gigabyte variant and, as you can see out of this, we have 109 gigabytes, that's available to us and guys remember if you require a lot more storage or for the 256 gigabyte variant that ram doesn't matter even 8. Gigabytes ram is more than enough, but storage is something that you need to decide if you want to go with the 128 or 256. So let's just go back and again uh guys uh. This is the new UI, a layout uh that OnePlus has given on this one.

This is with the uh, I would say, uh the OnePlus 11. This is based on oxygen, OS 11. I don't know about this, but I feel that the older OnePlus UI uh felt closer to the stock android experience. This feels a mixture of Samsung, one UI and a mix-up. I don't know what do you guys think about the same? I felt that the original one uh was slightly better, but again that's a personal preference.

Furthermore, I would say- and if you go here as you can see, this is the eight gigabyte uh variant that we are having and that 120 hertz fluid display and oxygen OS 11, as I've told you, which is uh indirectly android 11, so it's nice to see that we're getting android 11 out of the box and uh. If I go over here, uh storage- I have already mentioned- and if you go to display, we do have a lot of options. In fact, this always uh always on mode is also there on this. I enabled it uh, and you can go to the advanced and by default it's 120, but you can go down to 60 if you want, and you can change them two the black theme also. So, let's just change that give me a minute so yeah.

This is the dark mode and uh. I feel it looks cool but uh you can toggle between the dark mode on and off, as you can see here, so that's nice. So that's what we have and uh as I've told you yeah. One more thing is that's always on you can enable this always on uh feature by default, it's disabled, but now, finally, after all these years, OnePlus is having that and yeah. That's the in-display fingerprint scanner again uh generally in most of the OnePlus devices, never had a problem within display.

Fingerprint scanner looks like the same for this one also and uh, uh. It does not feel too heavy. I would say so: the weight distribution is done. Actually, okay on this device, I would say and uh now, let's also look at the camera uh here I would say it's not a big bump up in camera compared to the original one plus eight. I was expecting a little more in the camera.

Configuration uh constrained uh with the OnePlus 7t. If you guys recall it had a triple camera, but it was a proper one, a regular one, wide angle. Then we had a telephoto zoom. Here we have the same 48, megapixel, uh, Sony sensor. That's been used for almost two years now uh.

Then we have a 16 megapixel uh ultra-wide I'm happy with 16 megapixels. Then we have a five megapixel for Mac and the fourth camera is just a two megapixel monochrome camera. Instead of that five megapixel macro and that two megapixel that monochrome uh, they should have gone with the telephoto lens, I frankly feel but anyways. Let's look at the camera on this one and only this time I'll just enable it uh. So initial again the font change and everything is there.

So this is the wide and again this is running on the snapdragon 865, so you don't have to worry, but we don't get the 865 plus. So this is fast, so you can go 2x zoom, also, but again guys. This 2x is not optical uh. This is digital zoom that you are having, and we have various modes like portrait all those things it should give in real time, and you can go wide and by default it zooms it as you can see, so we have nights cape, also pro mode and all those things. So as expected, all those things are there on this one, and it remembers.

If you come back from this and again yeah, it will also do 4k uh stuff. So now, let's look at the front facing camera. It's a. This is also actually a Sony sensor, and we have the portrait mode and again because of snapdragon 865, that's fast. So let's do one thing guys: let's actually take some camera samples with this one so that you get a better idea regarding the camera, so these samples were taken with the rear facing camera.

It's the Sony, mix 586 sensors and I feel uh OnePlus has optimized it really well, this regular shot- and this was that 2x digital zoom. And finally, this was that wide-angle lens again some more samples, as you can see, and in outdoor lighting conditions, I would say the camera performance is actually pretty good. Now, I'm going to some Cuban shot, this was the regular shot that I took, and this is the portrait port in portrait mode. We can actually zoom in, and I felt that the zoomed in shots in the portrait mode were better. This is wide angle lens.

This is regular portrait shot, and this is that zoomed in portrait shot again, as you can see, uh this is regular shot and this is the zoomed in portrait shot now moving to shots taken in my office and artificial lighting conditions. Here also, I would say more or less: it actually did a very good job, but in this picture it got the exposure wrong. Now, I'm going to human subjects again, as you can see, uh regular shots, it's doing a decent job. This was that wide angle. It's little soft, I would say indoors- and this is the portrait mode, just notice- that the portrait mode is actually not sharp in indoor lighting condition, so I hope it improves uh.

Now I'm going to the front facing camera. The front facing camera performance is perfect, as you can see uh. This was taken in the portrait mode, and here also it did a good job now moving to indoor lighting conditions again here also, I felt that the front-facing camera, as you can see these are some portrait shots. It actually did a very good uh job, so guys uh, that's it for now for the unboxing and first initial, look at this uh OnePlus 8t uh. What do you guys think about this? One? Do let me know in the comment section: yes now we're getting that 65.

What do you say a what fast charger and that 120 hertz display? Again, I will be doing a lot more testing with this one uh, but if you guys want uh, should I compare the camera on this one with some other smartphones, because these days we are getting a lot of smartphones with 64 megapixel camera anyways. Do let me know what do you guys think about this OnePlus 8t again guys its available uh online in India, officially via Amazon, and I'll leave the link in the description below and again guys if you're buying use the link, it does help the channel anyways guys, that's it for now, thanks for watching this is transit and I hope to see you in my next video take care guys.
