Motorola Moto X vs Nokia Lumia 1020

Hey guys John See here from marina right now, you're walking on in-depth video comparison between the Moto X and in Nokia Lucia 1020, both flagship devices for 2013 here with the Moto X. It's going to be coming here shortly to the US through all four major wireless carriers. It might not be the most impressive in terms of the spec sheet, but nevertheless a big contender in the space. On the other hand, the alumina 1020 has had a head start, it's been available for roughly a month through AT&T, and we know it mostly for its 41 megapixel Preview camera. Of course, they both focus on different things, but in the end we're going to find out which one can outdo the other to win the hearts and minds of consumers all around between the two. The alumina 1020 has the more attractive design and solid construction.

The Moto X, though, stands out for being the more compact and natural feeling handset hold in the hand. You look at the two you. It's already obvious that the Lucia 1020 is just one beast of a phone, it's thicker, bigger and also top-heavy, so it does make it feel. A little awkward holding in the hand, especially when you have that hump in the rear, whereas with the Moto X its rear, casing, really contours to our palms. You wouldn't necessarily recognize that first glance, but it's the Moto X that has a larger screen in between the two.

It's a 4.7 inch 720p AMOLED display of versus a smaller foreign half-inch peer motion, HD plus with Lampblack AMOLED on the Lucia 1020. The Lucia 1020 has the slight advantage with the resolution it's at 768 by 1280 versus 720 by 1280 pixels. Quite frankly, though, you're not gonna notice, the difference details are absolutely identical to one another, especially in the web. Browser zoomed out for you same level, clarity, nothing different about it. At the same time, you could say the same thing about other aspects of the two devices: do you have that rich over saturated called reproduction thanks through amulet pals wide viewing angles, so we've definitely liked both the Lucia 1020 still relies on separate capacitive buttons below its display, whereas with the Moto X they're actually incorporated into the interface.

Meanwhile, above their displays, we have their earpieces that are light and proximity sensors and their front-facing. Can it's a larger two megapixel one in the Moto X versus a smaller 1.2 megapixel front-facing camera on the Lucia 1020. We like the physical buttons on both handsets just because they're raised, there's, distinctive and also super responsive with the Lucia 1020. You have a two-level shutter key to gain access to the camera very quickly when you hold it down for a couple of seconds. But then again you have a similar feature with the Moto X.

Oh my god, you just use its quick capture, camera feature. You twist your wrist a couple of times and automatically will jump into the camera app itself, some other common ports that the two handsets share include their micro USB ports for charging data connectivity. You have the 13 1/2 millimeter headset jacks, their standard microphones, noise, cancellation, microphones and when it comes to speakers, its place in the bottom right corner on the Lucia 1020 and while on the Moto X it's in the rear. Next to the camera you kind of get which of the two devices packing the beefier internals when it comes to the cameras right away. If that humping the reality Nokia Lucia 1020 stands out for its 41 megapixel Preview camera, which features ice optics optical image, stabilization, lossless zoom, you have LED and xenon flashes and the bill shoot 1080p videos.

In contrast, you have a still modest 1 m deal in the Moto X. It's a 10, megapixel, clear, pixel camera on there with LED flash and, of course the bill should 1080p video with their clothes designs and all there's no way to gain access to the internal batteries. Nor is their way to supplement their internal storage capacities with their base configurations. The Lucia 1020 has a slight advantage just because its starts off at 32 gigabytes versus 16 on the Moto X. But then again you could also get a 32 gigabyte version of it too.

Right now, we kind of know the difference between these two respective platforms. One is big with in terms of the visuals and that's what you see here with the alumina 1020 and Windows Phone 8. The Start screen is riddled with all these dynamic live tiles that aggregate a lot of content. It gives it a very, very animated lock, but as far as the ecosystem of the platform, it still pales in comparison to what Android 4.2.2 jelly bean on the Moto X has to offer, and from here we do know that has just a deeper level customization with all the various widgets, and we also prefer how it does notifications. It's just really easy to actually access at any time.

At the top of that, we like how we have we're given access to a bunch of different connectivity features directly from the panel itself. Naturally, the Illumine 1020 benefits over other Windows phones, just because it's it lays claim to all those Nokia branded applications, so things like Nokia, Drive, Nokia, Maps, Nokia, music. It really helps to enhance the Windows Phone 8 experience, but then again we just find that applications in general, with Android on the Moto X, is just more polished than what it's offered here with the Lucia 1020. For example, if you take a look at the Twitter application, we definitely notice how the kind of similar in terms the visual presentation, but the execution of how they function. It just seems better and more fluid with the Moto X and Android as a whole, and we think about apps ecosystem.

There's, no comparison. The Android experience still helps claim to a deeper selection that what Windows Phone 8 offers. Another reason why the Android experience on the Moto X is just so much more gratifying than the Windows Phone 8 experience on Lucia 1020. You have touchless controls which allows us to perform a bunch of different tasks with our voice. So basically, all you have to do is just pronounce the key phrase: hey Google now and then from there it's actively listening.

So you can do stuff like set alarms a set, an appointment, call someone text, someone all via voice, and you don't have to actually interact with the smartphone itself. Despite having the smaller display, it's the Lucia 1020 that has the more spacious keyboard layout. You could tell right away. Buttons are a little bigger than what's available in Moto X, despite that they both have the same level, responsiveness and great autocorrect features which makes the experience very enjoyable something the web is no problem with these two smartphones, they're packing 4G, LTE connectivity for fast page loads and, of course the responsiveness is pretty much on the same page to one. We just noticed that the Moto X is just a little more fluid with its controls.

You could see there's a little of jitteriness with the alumina 1020. It's not that bad and overall, both are more than usable, neither handsets packing the most cutting edge. The beauty about that is that they still exhibit great responsiveness that make them high-end devices. The alumina 1020 is powered by a dual-core 1.7 gigahertz Qualcomm, Snapdragon, s4 plus processor, with 2 gigabytes of RAM. In contrast, the Moto X is powered by a dual-core 1.7 gigahertz Qualcomm Snapdragon s4 pro processor, with 2 gigabytes of RAM. And honestly, the performance is pretty much identical.

With these 2 basic tasks, they pretty much execute with the same finesse. We just notice that there's a little more snappiness with the Moto X, but isn't by much. You can't go wrong with either device when it comes to watching high-definition videos. Just because there's a lot of similarity natty they line the same AMOLED displays. So the colors are vibrant rich.

They have the same codec support out of the box, so all the popular ones are onboard and of course they play videos and are very smooth and fluid manner. No stutter lag whatsoever. What is this simply basic? The other one is just more comprehensive. That's what you see here with me: camera apps on both devices, the Moto X has and uncluttered you. Why, and it's not packing as nearly the same amount of features and shooting modes that the Lucia 1020 is able to deliver, and you could see that with just the few modes it has like HDR.

You have panoramic and a slow-motion video with the Lucia 1020. Not only do you have a bunch of different shooting modes you could choose from, but there's a lot more controls, and you have access to so from things like white balance. — focus —, shutter speed and even the exposure there's just a deeper level of control available with the Lucia 1020. It's downright a win for the Lucia 1020, and it's 41 megapixel Preview camera. It just blows away the competition with the Moto X, and it's 10 megapixel, clear, pixel camera and pretty much every situation both indoors outdoors bright or if it's some dim, the Lucia 1020 just exceeds in providing impressive results, especially with those larger samples.

The full-size samples it just has more detail, sharper, looks and in low lighting conditions. It just brightens up the shots without having as much beg rotation in overall fine detail, quality and its zenith wash definitely is more ample and more potent with its results, so your hands down. You're going to go with the alumina 1020 if you're all about taking photos. At the same time, it's also the Lucia 1020 that shows its might when it comes to recording 1080p videos. Everything bad is just so much more impressive than what the motor X offers.

Moto X isn't bad at all. But when you compare directly to limb, Lucia 1020, there's also cleared Lucia.1020 has the sharper visuals more detail, very balanced, color, reproduction, minimal, artifacts and, of course, seeing that has also that 24 frames per second mode. You get that cinematic quality. Look with the results, there's so much excellent for the task at hand, but they're decent enough for calling with the Lucia 1020 it's earpiece is just very weak, so you got to really put it close to your ear. Just to hear anything, but locally voices have a clear tone to them with the Moto X, it's not a problem with its volume output.

It's a matter of just the understanding. Those robotic tones heard on both ends of the line beyond that they both have a noise cancellation features that work really quick. The Moto X pulls that slightly more battery life over the Lucia 1020. It's also packing the higher capacity battery to 2200 millions versus 2000 Williams on the Lucia 1020. At the end, a were able to get 18 hours of normal usage out of Nokia's, offering versus a full 24 hours on the Moto X.

There's no questioning the flagship status is on both these devices. They have a lot of qualities to them to make them so memorable, but when it comes to pricing, you're going to save more money with the motor X, just because it's $100 less 200 vs. $300. But then again you got a factoring that you're getting 32 gigabytes of storage with the alumina 1020 versus 16 on the Moto X. Now, if you're strictly all about taking photos and videos, you're going to want to go with in the Lucia 1020.

That is where it really exceeds the most and with its offering and beyond that, we say that the Moto X is more of the well brand and device between a two. When you think about performance. The software experience the app ecosystem, you're gonna, get a lot of it out of the Moto X, and it's simple to use and at the same time you know the desired process is very interesting too. With motor maker you could customize the design. So if you like to learn more about even our handsets' gosh, you could check out our website phone Rena.
