iPhone XS Max vs Galaxy S21 Ultra Should You Switch?

iPhone 10s max versus the galaxy s21 ultra. Should you make this switch? What is up guys nick here, helping you to master your technology in this episode, we're going to break it down and help you decide if you've been holding onto your tennis max you've been eyeballing, this beautiful camera setup, the galaxy s21 ultra, and you've been saying you know, I think I might switch to Samsung this year. This video might help you out here now. Let's talk about, should you switch in terms of the body the build and the design? Well, I would say absolutely, and I'll tell you the reasons why the back of the iPhone 10s max attracts a lot of fingerprints. It's kind of a slimy feel, especially if you don't have a case on it and stuff like that, which you probably did, but I'm just saying from the overall perspective of the phone itself, it does have a little of a know. The camera lens gets a little dirtier as well.

The phone overall just doesn't feel as clean to use as the galaxy s21 ultra. You can see on the back. They went with this phantom black frosted glass material. It's like a matte feel it's really nice. Also, here around the edges of the camera.

You'll see they covered in that as well. Very smart idea, because, right here it doesn't get fingerprints either love that Samsung went ahead and did that now over here on the edges you do have you know this like aluminum build, so you will step back a little. You do have stainless steel here, but it's really it feels about the same. So it's not really a big idea or a big deal right there. Now, if you take a look, you'll notice that the s21 ultra is slightly heavier, it also is slightly taller than the 10s max, but I think if you were able to handle a phone like the 10s max, and you were comfortable with it, you know you'll feel this is a little big bigger than the iPhone 10s max, but I think you'll be able to handle it overall, you will get a slightly narrower display as well for the galaxy s21 ultra, but it's going to be very hard to see if you're, not comparing them side by side like if you traded this phone in, and you weren't able to compare them.

You probably won't notice too much, but I would say yes, definitely a nice upgrade here in the overall body design display stuff like that. Take a look at the display. It has virtually no chin. Some older Samsung's had a little bigger of a chin there, and also, if we bring that brightness down you'll, see right here, punch, hole, display versus a notch, so definitely a lot more screen real estate. The bezels are even thinner on the sides over the 10s max, so I think overall you're going to be pretty happy with that switch over.

If you decide to just get this in terms of the way it looks to build and things like that, it's a very good overall device here on the right and that's not taken away from the 10s max. It's a very premium beautiful device. I paid over a thousand bucks for this phone. It also feels top-notch, but this one slightly edges it out for sure now, you're definitely going to want to make the upgrade in display as well. Now, while there is nothing really wrong with the display- and I don't think it's leaps and bounds going to change your life here, going to the s21 entry, you will notice it's just a better display.

So first, Samsung did bring a very similar feature to true tone here with the galaxy s21 ultra over here, it's called comfort shield. You can put it in this adaptive mode and adjust to the day it's very similar to what apple does with true tone. In addition, they have their own. You know night mode as well. It's called dark mode over here for the Samsung Galaxy s21.

You could schedule that out as well, so they have these similar features, you're not really going to lose anything. If you come over here this device in display, but you're going to gain quite a few things. Let me show you what they are. If we go to settings here, we go to display. You can put this thing in a 1440p resolution at 120, hertz, adaptive refresh rate, so this thing not only is smoother, but at its max resolution it's sharper and smoother than the 10s max the 11 pro max and even the 12 pro max.

So it beats out the last three big iPhones in the display for sure now. We can also crank this thing up to ridiculous peak brightness and in sunlight. This thing gets around 1500, nits or so. You're going to see this thing with ease in direct sunlight. You can look at this in the sun, is just beaming directly on your phone, and you will still see this device.

That's how great this display is, and not only that couple that, with it being very large, you do have plenty of things you can take advantage of with Samsung's multitasking modes and stuff like that. So this is the best display on a smartphone right now in the galaxy s21 ultra. So if you do upgrade from the iPhone 10s max, you will notice, it just looks more colorful, more vibrant and yes, you can go accessibility and tweak the color filters on here, but it still doesn't look as vibrant it's over here for the Samsung and while I do think it's pretty close in overall quality, there's just those little things that just make up for this one being better sharper resolution 120 hertz, and it does make for a better experience. So you're going to be very happy with the switch here if you upgrade and switch from the iPhone 10s max to the s21 ultra. Now, when it comes to the storage of these devices, should you make the switch? And the answer is yes, because you have similar storage capacities for Samsung over here on the s21 ultra from the iPhones? But if you have the 64 gig, you should definitely make the switch, because this one starts at 128 gigs as a 256 gig and a 512 gig option.

However, a downgrade from prior Samsung phones is there's no longer expandable memory, but I will state that you're going to be pretty much equal here, you're going to find the storage that you need, and you're probably already used to storing things on your phone if you're coming from a 10s max. So this shouldn't be no problem for you here coming over to the s21 ultra. So this is probably the easiest section to say. Yes, you should definitely switch if we're talking about cameras. Just look at the difference in the cameras, the lenses are just way bigger.

They do so much more on the s21 ultra, but taking a look at the 10s max the front-facing video topped out at 1080 60, and we'll begin by talking about that. Front-Facing camera at seven megapixels apple really jumped up here in the future phones over this 10s max. So the front-facing camera will be a major upgrade on any newer device, but the rear camera is not bad. It's still a very exceptional camera and I think you can record pro type videos and photos on this phone as well with the iPhone 10s max. So you're not really left behind here on the tennis max.

But if you come over here, cameras are getting ridiculous good for these newer phones, so we'll go ahead and show you what the s21 ultra is working with. You can do 3x optical. You can do 10x optical, so insane levels of zoom. Here you can go 30x 100x! This thing not only does that, but you can do 4k 60. Of course, you could do that on the iPhone 10s max, but you can do 8k video yeah.

It might be a gimmick for some people, but you can do it here. In addition, you have directors view a bunch of features in the camera, but on the front facing camera, you also will have an improved camera that can do up to 4k 60, not just 1080, so you're, basically improving all around the board.10 megapixels versus a 7 megapixel here, you're just improving everywhere around here on this Samsung device. Now I'm not exactly sure if the Instagram quality is beating the iPhone, yet I did test them to combine in some areas. The iPhone still does better. So social media depends on how much you use that you might notice a slight different, but in the actual camera app itself yeah, it's just a total demolishing victory here for the Samsung.

So if you're upgrading for camera you're going to be very happy with the switch here as well, let's have a listen to their audio extremely loud and full for the 10s max stereo speakers are pretty impressive here, but what about the s21? Ultra 1000 wow even louder this device right here, it's so loud. I'm pausing them quickly because it's just blasting right now in the studio, but I will say that the s21 ultra does have a little louder. Speakers, especially with the Dolby Atmos, turned on over the tennis max, and it does have a similarly full sound. So you don't really you know. Usually, the iPhone is out doing most android devices when it comes to how good it sounds at the highest volume, but the s21 ultra is right there with them on that one.

So definitely both a good audio experience, but a slightly upgraded one here for the Samsung and the Bluetooth connections are faster as well on here for the Samsung device as well, so which one's faster. Well, I can tell you the 10s max with the a12 7 nanometers has aged extremely well. This thing has incredible speed that you never really can get it to choke. Seven nanometer CPU is so much ahead of its time when it did come out. Apple has been crushing it here for a while, and it seems like they're gonna, be the first with a three nanometer CPU as well, but this device it's just not slow at all.

The only thing I notice is that it does have a little of a few app reopening. So if you open too many apps, it will relaunch things quite a bit, unlike you'll, see on the Samsung s21 ultra with its 12 gigabytes of ram. So this one does have more ram five nanometer snapdragons 88 and the Samsung phone. I would describe as you could just experience more speed with this phone, mostly because of that 120 hertz display really bringing this to a level. That's actually seen by the eye.

You cannot really see a seven nanometer, CPU outperforming, say a 10 nanometer on iOS. You really see it, though, on the Samsung, with the 120 hertz display the 12 gigs of ram. When you are flying through things, it just holds everything pretty decent in the background, so I have to say I would pick the s21 ultra for the performance and one great thing about this phone. It doesn't get really warm, whereas with the 10s max it got a little warmer. I would say when doing some heavier tasks, so should you make the switch when it comes to battery life here, for the tennis max to the s21 ultra and let's go ahead and take a look at the battery life? Here, I would say: yes, not only does this have a larger cell, which means that it should have a longer battery life for a longer period of time, because, as you do deplete that battery, it's just obvious.

It's going to last longer in terms of longevity, just a larger cell, so over here for the s21 ultra. I found this thing to get two hours better run time like actual sot screen time than the iPhone 10s max. So this one wasn't my most impressive phone, even the 10r, I think outperforms, the 10s max in the battery life. However, the tennis max is still a pretty good day long phone with heavy usage. You just be in the teens by the end of the day, whereas the s21 ultra you're, probably in the upper 20s, maybe in the 30s, by the end of the day, with some heavy usage.

Neither one of these phones can really stretch two full days with heavy usage. But if your light on them, they both should be able to make that as well. I will say the standby time is very strong for the iPhone, although the standby time is decent on the galaxy after you get past like 90 once it goes below that it starts to drain really slow and both do support fast charging. However, you could do reverse wireless charging for the Samsung, and it doesn't come with a charger in the box. However, if you do buy it on samsung.

com, I believe you do get an incentive to just get a free charger anyway, but let me know your thoughts on that. Are you going to switch because you want the bigger battery, because I think it's a perfect idea, if you do want that now? This is one of those quality of life improvements that I think you should make a switch. The phone calls quality reception, 5g, 4g LTE. You have to get the 12 pro max if you want an iPhone with 5g. However, you know the galaxy s21 ultra not only does 5g and over 40, but it's a much better phone call experience.

It has much better reception than the 10s max it holds onto those bars on a lot better places. It's just overall one of those quality of life, things you're just gonna notice, dang. I got good reception all the time on this phone, so I just think the radios and stuff in here the band support pretty similar band support, but this overall radios in here are just better, so you do have just better overall phone call quality, better overall mobile reception. Almost every time everywhere you go on the Samsung Galaxy s21 ultra, not saying this one doesn't work well in urban areas and areas with good signal strength that works perfectly, but this one you're going to find it can go a little further. In that respect, I feel like now I will say: biometric security is also a better experience right now, anyway, for the Samsung, because, with the mask still a mandate in many places you do have to your know.

When you go ahead and open up the phone, you don't have to push in a passcode, so the fingerprint scanner works pretty much every time it's in display and Samsung has been improving this to be a little more accurate over the past couple years when they launched it on s10. I believe it was that one wasn't quite as snappy and reliable as a newer one, but this one is very fast. All the time face ID is awesome when you don't have a mask on, but face ID is still awesome. It's still incredibly secure. It's not like it's a bad thing, but I just think you have more options and faster, more convenient, unlocking on the Samsung Galaxy s21 ultra, alright.

So here's the thing there's basically no way throughout this video and no hardware perspective that the iPhone was basically better than the s21 ultra basically schools, this phone in almost every area from a hardware standpoint. But what we're really missing here from this video so far has been the software, and so that's how I'm going to conclude this video. You know the iOS software is the hook. It is the main hook of the apple experience, along with the apple branding apple. Just has this brand status symbol image that it's just a luxury brand and with that going on, it's sometimes very hard, actually a lot of times very hard to convince anybody to go out switch, and that's not really my goal here in this video.

I'm just trying to tell you from my experience. I find the Samsung phone to just be a better device. It just is, you know if you've actually used both you'll notice, that especially from hardware but some people- just don't like you know, android they don't like Samsung. They don't like the way. Samsung looks and stuff like that, so you could sit here and see all the hardware benefits.

But if you don't like the way, this operates stay with the iPhone and just get a 12 pro max or wait for the upcoming 13 pro max or whatever they're going to call it. It should have similar specs to the s21 ultra having 120, hertz and stuff like that. So let me know what you're going to do here. If you have the 10s max, are you going ahead and buying s21, ultra, or you're? Like you know what I do like the apple branding? I do like the software. I cannot, even though I love the way that s21 ultra looks its beautiful hardware.

Furthermore, I just can't make that switch. Let us know what you're going to do down below and enjoy the rest of your day. Thank you very much for watching.
