Welcome and following is a Google Pixel forum, and today I will show you how to enable the power saving mode so to get started. All you need to do is pull down the notification panel, like so extend it, and you'll find this battery saver. The battery icon simply taps on it turn on, and it will enable the power saving mode. That's, basically, all you need to do and by enabling this it will lower the brightness of the display, reduce your background. Data usage also turn everything and dark, considering anything that is black on the display won't actually need to be rendered. So all the pixels that are behind the black background are actually disabled.
