Google Pixel XL 2 vs Pixel XL Camera Review Side-by-Side Comparison

Hi guys, this is Ranchi doing a different kind of test. Actually a half the original pixel excel on the left, and this is the new pixel to excel on the right and even though original pixel actually had a very good camera and obviously the new one is starting to be one of the best camera smartphone. So I decided by not this test them and see which one is better again. I'm shooting this one with the front-facing camera again check, though, or do I'll be swapping between both the phones so that you get an idea, and I'll be taking a lot of sample shots because I still feel the pixel excel is performing very well and now the price has fallen down. Obviously the pixel likes to Excel will do slightly better in some areas. But again, if you are on a tight budget, let's see how well this original pixel accelerators compared to the pixel to excel.

So again, I'll now move to the rail facing camera and show you a lot of sample short side by side so that you can judge for yourself which one is doing a better job and if you already have a pixel XL, does it make sense to upgrade to this newer pixel to excel. So here are the pictures side by side and the pixel to excels. The colors are slightly boosted, but in terms of dynamic range I feel both of them are doing a good job. As you can see, the sky is easily visible with the clouds, but in terms of colors, the pixel XL to look closely at the flowers. The color reproduction is slightly richer on the 2xl.

If you look at this picture, the pixel to excel picture is slightly brighter, and I think, so that is due to the lens. The two excel has F 1.8 aperture, whereas the pixel excel as f/2 dot o. So definitely the pictures from the to Excel are slightly more vibrant and a little more saturated compared to the pixel excel. This is actually a pretty difficult shot for most cameras, smartphones and clearly here you could see the major difference, the pixel to excel handled it a lot better than the pixel XL. Now moving to some indoor shots, and here I feel both of them actually did a very good job, as you can see, and again in this picture, also I feel both of them did a very good job constrain the indoor lighting conditions- and this is the bouquet effect close-up shots.

And yes, in this picture, the pixel in and even the to accelerate a very good job, but in macro shots I feel it was a lot easier with the pixel.2X and I could actually go a lot closer to the subject. But if I do that with the pixel X, and it was getting a little blurred, the color difference that I was talking is evident in this picture. The pixel to excels, produces a richer color and the pixel to Excel actually has the portrait mode, whereas the pixel Excel simply does not have that the pixel to Excel also has a portrait mode for the front-facing camera and I use the portrait mode for these front-facing camera pictures, and I was amazed at the results and again the regular pixel does not have that portrait mode. So these were the samples with the front-facing camera I also shot a picture with the portrait mode in indoor lighting conditions and even in indoor lighting conditions it did perform. This is with the regular pixel that does not have that portrait mode now recording the video again on the left.

We have the pixel excel and on the right we have the pixel to excel, and I'm recording this at 1080p. Yes, both of them can do 4k. Video recording, also I, will do that later on, but just quickly just showing you a sample at 1080p, because I still feed many people shoot videos at 1080p. Let's see the focusing speeds and again both of them are doing a good job. In my opinion, there is a slight color difference, but you guys, let me know in the comment section now: let's do a walk, so this will be like if you are shooting a video at 1080p and walking.

How would be the stabilization because the new pixel to excel apart from electronic image stabilization also employs electron hardware, that is optical image stabilization, whereas the original pixel had just an is so. This is a very quick walk test and let's also check the Explorer here and here, so you be a judge and let me know which one is doing a better job now set both the cameras to 4k, and we're just going to do the walk test so that huge VR judge, which one is doing a better job in stabilization I'm just walking normally, and there is a little of even. Let's just go back laughs, so you guys, let me know in 4k, which one do you think is doing a better job. Now some sample shots in low lighting conditions and in this picture I was surprised that both of them actually did a very good job and guys these are low lighting conditions and in this picture also, as you can see, both of them actually did a very good job. So I decided to up the challenge a little and these pictures I shot in very, very low lighting conditions to disable the flash, and you'll notice that the pixel Excel the picture is slightly more on the yellower side when the lighting is very low.

It is very evident from this picture, so in very low lighting conditions. The white balance is actually better on the pixel 2xl, but if you have to pick a winner and very low lighting conditions to pixel to excel pictures are slightly sharper. Look at that command the backlight. It is more clearly slightly sharper compared to the pixels, but nevertheless I would say both of them actually perform very well now. Shooting this part of the video with the pixel accepts front-facing camera in.

As you can see, this is an artificial lighting conditions, so I mean in indoor lighting conditions of you shoot video with the front-facing camera. This would be your experience again, so this part of the video again with the front-facing camera of the pixel to excel, and you guys, let me know again, you have seen a lot of samples with this original pixel XL also. So what do you think regarding its camera performance? Do you think the pixel to excel camera is hugely superior? Yes, it does have this portrait mode, it works actually pretty well, but apart from that, what do you think I feel like even the original pixel XL camera is actually pretty good, and I know? Many of you are asked will be asking me about the screen issues. I would say there is one thing that I've noticed the screen. If you tilt it, there is that blue tent, and it is very evident actually on white backgrounds.

That's what I've noticed. If you look straight, for example, it won't be visible, but if you tilted a little on the pixel to excel, it is visible. I think so. That's a hardware effect regarding that muted colors have tweeted about it, but Google picks. Google team has already mentioned that a new software update will be rolled out.

That would be fixing those colors issues again. I've just started testing this pixel to excel just a day so again after testing it for the next couple of days, we'll try to post an FAQ video where I'll be answering most of the common questions. So if you have some questions regarding this pixel 2xl do post them in the YouTube comment section below, and I'll try to include them in my FAQ video and if you are still not subscribed to this YouTube channel at that subscribe button again thanks for watching this is Transit and I hope to see you in my next video.
