Galaxy Z Fold2 5G: My Favorite Controllers!?

Hello everybody, my name is Connor, and you are checking out the casual Connor channel. This is a channel where I go over reviews of some of the technology that I do own, and I also do go over video game reviews. So if you do like seeing that type of content make sure to like to subscribe and hit that notification button today, we are going to be going over a review of my favorite controllers that I play on my galaxy z425g. I hope you guys do enjoy, and we are going to get right into it all right guys again. We are going to make this quick, because there are five controllers. We are just going to start with the game, sir x2 type USB.

So when I say type USB I mean this is a direct connection to my Galaxy Z, fold, 2 and if you have an iPhone or if you have an older device that still supports micro us bit ain't going to work. So you can just skip this one. I do really enjoy this controller. It is probably my favorite controller to play Stadia cloud games and emulation outside that. That's pretty much the only reason I use this one.

I love it because it is a small form factor. The buttons are click style, and so you don't have the whole motion which sometimes I do actually enjoy, because, especially if I'm playing like a first person, shooter game personal opinion, I feel like that. Click is better because it is more responsive uh. As far as how the games play it plays beautifully uh it honestly, it feels like a Nintendo Switch. I mean there is being that it is USB plugin, there's literally no delay.

It has the perfect amount of travel that I am used to, and I actually got this controller because it does kind of take part of the Nintendo Switch where you have the b, a y x kind of button layout style. This does have a android mobile game mode, and you can get into that by pressing the g in the home button and wait for these lights to flash blue, but in doing so uh it actually doesn't work with the z-fold 2 when it's unfolded. I've I've reached out to the air support to kind of see. What's going on with that, and also a downside, uh speaking to something that doesn't work with the z pole 2, the charging does not work, which is almost a dealbreaker for me. I keep on going back and forward, but they do their own firmware updates.

So technically they can fix the charging with the z-fold 2 through a firmware update through the application itself. It's kind of what I'm hoping for if they are able to do that, this would 100 be my main driver because it is just feels almost the best out of all of these controllers here, uh we'll get into this one, which is itbeing hard to say which one's my favorite out of these two um they're all great, but I feel like these two definitely are going to be the better option for gaming. When I say these two I'm talking about the g-lab controller- and I am talking about the game, sir x2 controller moving right along, we are going to talk about the g-lab controller. This is my most recent purchase. I've had it maybe a couple of weeks already, and I have been using it up literally on the daily.

This is actually a really cool controller. The only thing that I do not like about it is the price. The price is no. What is it? I think I purchased it for like 130 dollars and if you are looking for just gen general mobile gaming, you don't you don't want to purchase this one. You want to purchase something like this, which I will go over next uh gap is awesome.

It is responsive, it is actually Bluetooth uh. So I've actually never really noticed the delay, whether I'm playing cloud games uh like Stadia or Xbox cloud, or if I am doing emulation the cool thing on what I really like about this. Is it pairs super quick like I, I'm going to press the on button, and it's already paired. It is already paired and ready to go. Uh yeah.

You guys can see that dot, and it's cool, because it's its literally just it right. Now. It's gonna work with Stadia uh emulation. I mean, if you're, using dolphin or something like that you do have to input the keys, but it's going to work. If you are a call of duty gamer.

This is perfect because it already maps the keys for you on apps like Call of Duty. Now it doesn't do all of them. You can check out their website or even their Amazon link. It'll show you a handful of games that are compatible that are already mapped. So, if you like no hassle, this is a great controller.

To get again, the downside is the price 130. Bucks is just way too steep, and it is while it's super responsive, and it just works. That price point is what's killing this thing right here. It really is the other downside, I'm not even gonna these. The mean you can see as far as the general design, the can, the l and r buttons are very far apart.

I actually didn't notice an issue honestly once I started gaming like this having my used access of four fingers instead of just two, I there was literally no issue whatsoever, but the issue that I have outside the price outside looking the l buttons are buttons which you can get used to it's the size. I have average size, two small hands, I guess but uh. If you know the dupe controller, you know the OG x box controller, how it feels is honestly, a good representation of how big this controller is. This is a big controller, and I wish I had the duke to show you to kind of compare, but it does have a similar design and when you hold it, it feels like you're holding the original Xbox controller uh. So weird uh I'd, I'm it's I'm not a huge fan of it of the size, but if you do have bigger hands uh, that is something to mention that might be better for you in this case than the super tiny uh game.

Sir controller um. Another thing that I'm not used to is the travel on the analog sticks on the left one. I don't really notice, because you know this is where you essentially, whichever game you're playing you move with, but if you're playing a first-person shooter in this case, maybe destiny uh. The travel is almost too much like it. They've made this controller to where it takes too long to go in any direction and how it responds to the game it almost.

I don't want to say delayed because it's not a delay. It just feels like it takes too long to get to where you want to go, and I've messed up a handful of times uh with this controller, mostly with first-person shooters, just because of the accuracy that is needed now, if you're playing a game like uh, Genovese, 2, uh or a fighting game in general or racing game, you probably won't notice as much, but you definitely notice with those first-person shooters again. This is the only one I have out of all these that do work natively with some android apps. So if you're playing it for Call of Duty, you're gonna, clear the fence regardless anyways, so no issue there great controller. If you want something to just work pair almost instantly, then this is the controller to get, but it's expensive.

Okay, we're done with that. One. Now we're going to go to the controller that I have had the longest. I've had this controller be going on almost two years: uh, it is the bison cool controller uh. It doesn't really actually have a name, and the sad thing about it is this brand no longer makes this style of game pad.

There are other brands, like, I think, Sacha tech makes one there's a couple other different brands that have the Nintendo Switch color that do make pretty much a clone and when you pair them they actually say the same model number in the Bluetooth, which is sf something 0, 0 1 or something like that, but they're all the same, they do have different brand names. So, while this one isn't available, you can go on Amazon, and you can find others that are exactly like this. This has been my overall favorite controller. Again. I've had it the longest it just works.

This is again mostly going to be over an android review. More specifically, in this case my galaxy z4 25g. It works perfectly um it pairs nice. I mean when it's its Bluetooth. Whenever you pair it, it works.

The issue that I have is there are different modes so like. If I just hit the power button, it's going to connect here, you can see for just android games like your mobile gaming for uh Call of Duty for uh gentian impact things like that. This does have a specific app that you can download it's v, shooter 3 or something like that. But as of recently, I cannot get that app to work with this device. It just it.

It shows the key map it, but it just doesn't load the game, and so it doesn't put the keys on the game you wanted to play, but it does also have an x mode hid. This is what you would use for playing cloud game apps. This is what you'd be using for playing emulation, and it works perfectly. There's some delay. I would say out of all of my game pads, definitely not a first-person shooter game, or it's definitely not a first-person shooter game pad, but it does work, and this was like 30 35 bucks.

Whenever I got it so for the price for how long it's lasted, it doesn't necessarily feel the most quality controller, but uh, it definitely does last, and I enjoy it, it is a micro USB, while the two controllers I have reviewed over previously are USB. While this one's charging, this one's plug-in this one just works. I mean honestly if I were to have two controllers. Instead of paying a bazillion dollars for one, it would be the game, sir, and it would be the belong cool controller. That's because whenever I need to charge my phone, I would be using this bad boy.

It does get confusing having something that is reversed in the buttons. That's my only downside. So again, I hope they release a firmware update for this to make it work as it's supposed to with the z-fold. This would be 100 the best controller out, but as that's not the case, I typically almost may use these two controllers more than I would use my g lab with that being said. Uh it is cheap, it does feel cheap, it lasts it doesn't.

I mean I expected this to maybe last a year, I'm going two years but uh it's a great controller. It does take the aspect of the Nintendo Switch joy, cons, which honestly, I literally think that's what they've used. The only difference is while this controller has too much travel with the analogs. This one has too little and again with first-person shooters. It does throw it off a little.

Comparing to the game, sir, it feels just right. Minus the analogs are a little small, but the travel is perfect. It's what you would expect in a controller like the Nintendo Switch or Xbox One, or something like that. Moving on get these out of the way going over the next one uh, it's gonna, be the Stadia controller, and I kind of had a ghetto rig this. So this is why this is going to be in uh.

What is it fourth place, uh and that's just because natively you cannot get a clip that will fit the z fold too and honestly, I don't even like this type of game style in the first place, but when it works, it is it's its great. It really is it's its a controller that I have its controller that I use occasionally um, but how I've finagled this I had the clip for the Stadia controller and I essentially just finagled it to where I had a pretty much a car mount type phone mount that extends way more than your average car height and I just attached it to the clip. And again I mean honestly you're, mostly gonna, play this. If you purchase Stadia, and you play stadium- and you have this controller it'll work great whenever I am referencing this controller specifically, I am talking about uh all game controllers that are like this, so Xbox One PS4 Stadia the Nintendo Switch anything that compare via Bluetooth. I guess minus this one, because this is Wi-Fi um it'll.

The same concept will work uh, I'm going over this because I don't have an Xbox One controller or anything like that. Uh going back to it, it's perfect for Stadia. Obviously you just press the button open up a game, and it pairs just like it should. The downside is if you want to play uh emulation. If you want to play android apps, it does need to be physically connected, which you're going to get into the same issue that you have with this.

You can't charge it while it's connected it just doesn't work um unless you have a dongle uh to make it work anyways. It's that's not the most ideal situation, but there 's's literally whether it's connected to Stadia or if it's connected hardwired. There are no delays. It's going to function as controllers should it works perfectly and if you're playing first-person shooters, this might be the controller to recommend again this layout in general, not specifically this controller but uh. It's great.

The only downside I have with this style is the fact that uh it is gets heavy. I mean the z fold.2 is a big phone. You put the z-fold tube paired with controller paired, with the clip paired with the thing that I attached on it uh it tends to sag, it might be not uncomfortable, but it might just give an approach to where it is it's not as playable as something that has your game pad style. That's pretty much all I got to say about this one. It works.

I use it occasionally, but definitely not my go-to. That's why I am reviewing this one in the later spills of it um, but yeah we'll move on. We will go to the next one, and this you see here like on the edges. Obviously this controller wasn't originally made. I have two slabs of metal that hold it into place.

Um. This was the Samsung game vice this was originally made for the note 9 note, 10 series uh probably could use it for the 20 series. It is your USB style, uh plugin, and I actually originally got this controller whenever I had my pixel device, but I had enough controllers, I was like hey uh. I want to see what I can do with this, and this is my honorable mention to where this is nothing. I would recommend to anybody.

This was just fun. We just cut the sides off uh, so the z pole two could fit, and it actually works. Uh you plug it in it charges it has a headphone jack. So theoretically, this would be the one I would prefer, but uh it just feels weird. It feels like.

I went all Frankenstein on it, and this is nothing that I would recommend anybody doing. Unless this is the only controller you have, and you don't want to dish out money or on the opposite spectrum. You have a lot of controllers, and you don't care if you accidentally break it. The only way I would uh recommend doing something like this would be if you didn't care with that being said, this is also at the bottom, because while it does function perfectly, it is uncomfortable. I mean you have these very jagged edges that just hurt your hands after a while anyways, don't recommend it was just fun.

Um, quick, summary recaps of my favorite controllers. These are not in-depth reviews. I do want to state that if I had to recommend one controller, it would probably be this controller right here. The battery, especially if you're playing Stadia, is going to last you or any cloud gaming service is still going to last you five to six hours, which is a good play through session. If you have the day off, whatever you want to finagle with, I would probably recommend this one if you have the cash, and you want something to just work, that is where I would recommend the g lap um, but at the same time almost this the for, if you're doing, first-person shooters, it might not be my go-to.

I mean this one would still be my go-to and then, if I was still playing a game uh, I would switch to the bun cool. So I would have to say game. Sir, is probably my favorite uh following these three super closely. Just for different reasons, just works so probably number two, no finagling and then number three would be the along cool. If you are looking for something affordable, something like this.

That will run you about 30 bucks is my recommendation. So budget definitely Bacon cools game style. You can check Amazon. I will throw the links up there for all of these purchases, but if you are looking for something more affordable, that's going to be the direction to go. If you want something that works, if you want the best overall personal opinion, it's this booger.

So with that being said, I hope you guys do enjoy if so again make sure to like subscribe hit that notification button.
