2020 iPad Pro Emulation Test! N64,PS1,PSP,GBA,Sega Saturn and More! By ETA PRIME

Hey guys this ETA prime back here again today, we're gonna, be testing out some emulation on the all-new 20 2011-inch iPad Pro now. I'm super excited about this. My wife recently picked this iPad up for herself and I figured I'd go ahead and install some emulators on it. As you might know, what do a lot of emulation on my channel using PC, Android and other systems, but I really haven't tackled iOS or iPad? Os and I've actually had a lot of viewers asking about this, but unfortunately you just can't go to the App, Store and download these emulators you're gonna, see in this video. You will have to do some workarounds if your iPhone or your iPad isn't jailbroken, and this one here isn't jailbroke, and it's running. iPad, OS, 13.4 I believe that's what it came without of the box and there's no jailbreak out for it. Yet when there is I will be testing more stuff, but there are a few other ways around this.

You can actually create an Apple Developer account and if you have a Mac or some way to run Xcode, you can compile these yourself, or you can find websites that allow you to download these, but you will have to trust them and most of the time, you really need to be careful with that, because there's really no easy way to tell if these apps are really safe or not. But this video isn't a how-to. This is just kind of a performance test with some of the emulators that I have here, and I was successfully able to install pass standalone, which I have right here, great PSP emulator. This is the latest version. As of making this video and since Apple now allows you to easily connect your Xbox controller or a PS4 controller.

You can use your controller with these emulators much easier than you could in the past. I was also able to install retro arts with a bunch of cores and mainly in this video you're gonna, see all of these games running in retroarch, except for the PSP games. I'm going to be using the standalone version of pass I'm. Also, gonna. Try out some Sega Saturn, some ps1, some Nintendo DS, some n64 some PC engine, and maybe some C PS3 now I have seen online that the dolphin emulator is available for iOS, but I could not get it to install on this iPad I'm, not sure if it's because I'm running the latest version of iPad, OS or not so, unfortunately, I can't test any Gamete or Wii games on this iPad, but as soon as it's available for this OS I will be testing it out, and I really have faith that this little machine will run them at full speed.

This is a very powerful little able, alright. So first up we have dream cast not looking too great here. I'm gonna, chalk, this up to the emulator itself, I'm using retroarch with the fly cast core I, am a hundred percent positive that the iPad Pro has enough power to run these Dream cast games at full speed. But unfortunately, emulator development for iOS is kind of put on the back burner, because there's really no easy way to install this on your iPad or your iPhone. So I just ran into a little bug here when I go back to the menu sound dies, but the game speeds up so yeah.

This definitely needs some work. Let's move over to a lower in one, and then we'll work. Our way up from there. I was just curious. If this even worked here, we have PC engine using retro arts with the LR beetle core everything's.

Looking good here, I mean the lower end. Stuff will run fine with retroarch I was able to run NEW, SNES game boy, game, boy, color, Game, Boy, Advance and even Neo Geo at full speed. So those cores are functioning properly with iOS, and we're getting full speed emulation. This is a C PS3 game, we're using final Bernie. You can run these C PS 1, 2, 3 Neo Geo, and it's on arcade games with this core here and performance is going to be great.

Ps1 performance is outstanding here, I tested a couple of games, and you'll see one of the harder to emulate one's coming up next bloody, roar, ? is one of the harder ones to emulate. As you can see, here is running at a constant 60. Nintendo DS's another one I wanted to test here, and it's actually working really well. There are some standalone DOME liters available for iOS, but I still stuck with retroarch, and it's working great. So here we have some Sega Saturn emulation with Virtual Fighter 2 I'm using the beetle core.

This is not to boss, a and Shirt, or anything like that. This is the best and most accurate Sega Saturn court that you can use, and it's working at full speed and Virtual Fighter 2 is just one of those that gives low-end Hardware run for its money in 64, using the moo pan plus next for inside retroarch is great on this iPad. I tested a bunch of games here and haven't had any issues at all. I got three to show off right now and finally, at least for this video we have some PSP emulation using the standalone version of pass, Ratchet and Clank running really great. Unfortunately, I tried got aboard Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta.

It just goes to a black screen, I'm, not exactly sure, what's going on there, but I tested a few more, and they all ran great, including Taken 6, and with all the games I tested, I was able to upscale to 3x and even 4x resolution with no issues whatsoever. So obviously the iPad Pro line is pretty expensive and this wasn't specifically bought for emulation, there are tons of stuff that my wife does on here, but I really wanted to test out some emulation on this thing and I finally got a chance to do it now. This iPad Pro has more than enough power to immolate everything that I showed off in this video and the stuff that didn't run well, like Dream cast I'm, really just going to chalk, that up to the emulator not being optimized enough, and I got a good feeling that this has more than enough power to run Gamete and even Wii games. This is much more powerful than my tab, s6, but unfortunately apple just bans emulators from the App Store, and we kind of got to work around that and in turn, there's not a high demand for iOS emulators. There, for it, the developers put those in the back I mean they'll, do Android, Windows and Linux before they even touch iOS, but that's pretty much it for this.

Going into this, I really wanted to test out some Gamete games using the dolphin emulator, but I just couldn't get it to install, so that'll have to come later and as soon as it's available, I will be doing a video on it.
