Huawei Nova 5T vs OnePlus 7 Pro Comparison Review

What up guys Miguel here, if you can tag and if you saw a review on the Huawei nova, 5 t then you'd know by now that it's a total steal with its flagship chipset at a very, very affordable price of eighteen thousand nine hundred ninety pieces here in the office. We've been really impressed with these things. We want to see how it compares to a real flagship like p1, plus seven pro alright. Now, with both phones in hand, the one plus seven pros is noticeably hefty here at 206 grams, while the number-5 t weighs 174 grams, both units we have are in their black variants, I mean it's technically gray for the OnePlus, but whatever it's black for us, they both have glass back with the Nova 50 gaining a little of an edge as it produces a concave glare effect. Whenever light hits it at a certain angle. Nonetheless, the 1 / 7 pro boasts a tougher glass back with Gorilla Glass 5, making it just as sturdy as it is premium.

Both devices are also offered in different colors locally. That's nebula blue for the 1 plus 7 pro and midsummer purple or crushed blue for the Nova 5 T. Both devices have protruding camera modules at the back, which honestly aren't total bothers when placed on a flat surface. The Nova 5d has four rear shooters since you get an additional dedicated macro lens, while the one plus seven Perot has three lenses more on those later. Do take note that they're, both fingerprint magnets, so I think it'd be better if users invest in a case upfront.

The 1 / 7 pro offers a none obstructive. Viewing experience thanks to its pop-up camera, while the Nova 5d gets a slightly smaller screen with a punch hole in the top right corner for its front facing camera on their right sides, you'll find the power button, another slider for D 1, +, 7, Pro and volume rocker and power button that doubles as a fingerprint scanner for the Nova 5t situated on the left are the 1 + 7 pros volume rocker and the Nova 5ds card tray for 2 NATO sized SIM cards. On top. You can find both devices noise, cancelling mic for speakerphone exclusive to the 1 + 7 pro is the before-mentioned pop up selfie camera, the Nova 5ds light and proximity sensor is here as well at the bottom, for the 1 plus 7 pro you'll find one of two stereo speakers main mic for cause: a USB, type-c port and a dual SIM card tray for the Nova 5t you'll find its main microphone, USB, type-c port and a single downward firing speaker. So yes, if you guys have noticed something, these two have in common is the absence of a headphone jack which is kind of sad but hey.

At least you get an adapter in the box of the cheaper nova.5 t also take note that both devices are not expandable via micros card. Overall, the 1 + 7 Pro and Huawei number 5 D flawed, a simple functional and classy style, but we all know that design is very subjective, so it really depends on your personal preference, but for most of us here in the office, we prefer the 1 / 7 pro more because of its premium. Looking glass back and unobstructed display speaking of display, the Nova 5d has a 6 point: 26 inch, full HD, plus IPS LCD screen with a resolution of 23 40 by 1080 and a pixel density of 412 pixels per inch. Of course, you get that punch hole in the upper left corner of the display and a notification light can be found in its earpiece, but the Nova 5d has no mention of any glass protection. Instead, you get a screen protector already installed.

On the other hand, the 1 + 7 Pro gives us an unobstructed experience with a tall 6.67 inch, fluid AMOLED display with a resolution of 31 20 by 1440 and a pixel density of 516 pixels per inch. It's got Gorilla Glass 5 protection and supports HDR 10 and a tier 10 plus technology, plus, let's not forget about that 90 Hertz, refresh rate that makes scrolling and navigating through the interface buttery smooth. It's also worth mentioning that the one plus event pro gets brighter than the Nova 5 T. So if you weigh things under direct sunlight is your thing. You know which one fares better.

So without a doubt, it's definitely the 1 / 7 pro for display quality for audio quality. They can both be loud through the respective single downward firing and stereo speakers, but expect the 1 / 7 pro to be louder and to produce a more dynamic sound stage with better separation. The Nova 5d is kind of similar to what you'll get from a typical mid-range device that lacks in the low-end talking about software. Now both devices run on Android 9pi, skin, with emu 9.1 for the Nova 5t and oxygen OS for the 1 plus 7 Pro out of the box, always emu 9.1 is the one you'll also find in the late devices, we're not total fans of it, but we think it's clean, simple and highly customizable. If you're used to Huawei your honor devices, you'll obviously feel right at all.

Now in the opposing corner, oxygen OS gives users a forward-thinking interface and, like I, said before it's my second favorite interface. Next to one UI, and here you get less bloatware and a dark mode theme that the Nova 5g doesn't have due to utilizing an IPS panel. Alright, let's tackle something more interesting like performance like: why are we comparing the Nova 5d with the 1 + up and pro again? Oh, right? It's because under the hood we get flagship raid hardware with the high silicon carrion 980 chipsets, it utilizes a Mallet g76 MP 10, GPU, 8, gigs of RAM and 128 gigs of internal storage, not to mention that it also has GPU to are both 3 and performance mode onboard for you, mobile gamers and power users. It's the same hardware, that's powering the Huawei p3 pro and May 20 pro. Then again, the 1 + 7 Perot is a beast -.

It's got a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Arena, 640, GPU, 6 or 8 gigs of RAM and 128 or 256 gigs of internal storage, depending on your area. Both chipsets are of the fastest in the market today, and we definitely get a smooth day-to-day experience with both devices taking a look at their benchmark scores the OnePlus 7 pro obviously overpowers in over 5t, but wait just a minute but switch into performance mode on the Nova, 5t and well. The OnePlus 7 pro still takes the cake in the numbers, but the Nova 5 TS performance mode significantly strengthened its scores, although honestly, when it comes to day-to-day use and the usual stuff to do on a smartphone, neither felt laggy nor slow overall, the 1 / 7 pro still went out here, but the Nova 5d can truly put up a fight if its life depended on it quickly. Author security, both devices, feature face, unlock, and they're, both pretty quick to register. Surprisingly, the 1 for 7 pro unlocked itself faster, despite having a pop-up camera and, as I mentioned earlier, the number five T's power button doubles as a fingerprint scanner, while the one plus seven post, fingerprint scanner, is of the optical in display variety they're, both quick, but we do believe that the five T scanner is more secure for battery the number five T is equipped with a three thousand seven hundred fifty million power battery with Huawei's twenty 2.5 watt supercharged, while the one plus seven pro packs is slightly bigger. Four thousand million power battery with 30 watt warp charge, something we found to be kind of a bummer- was that both phones don't support wireless charging.

Despite them, both utilizing glass backs. Moving on in our PC mark battery test, the number 5 T got a total of 13 hours and 38 minutes, while the 1 / 7 Pro yielded a total of 12 hours and 14 minutes now we know that those numbers aren't really the best interpretation for actual day-to-day use, but we did find the number 5 T to be more power efficient, especially when you're not using performance mode, while the 1 4 7 Pro charges way faster thanks to warp charge either way they both have their pros and cons, and it's going to depend on whether the user prefers faster charging or a better battery life. All right now before we talk about price. Let's take a look at those cameras at the back. The Nova 5d has a total of four cameras consisting of eight forty, eight megapixel Sony IMF 586, a 16 megapixel ultra-wide, a 2 megapixel depth sensor and a 2 megapixel macro lens, which is placed outside the camera module.

Meanwhile, the 1 plus 7 pro has a triple rear camera setup, consisting of a forty, eight megapixel main shooter, an 8 megapixel telephoto lens at least 16 megapixel ultra, while in front you get a 32 megapixel lens for the Huawei Nova 5 T, and up top for D 1 / 7 Pro resides a 16 megapixel sensor. Ok, let's assess some sample photos in this first set. Both cameras produce some pretty good colors. The Nova 5d appears more saturate that, while the 1 plus caught more accurate hues in these next shots of the coca-cola beetle, the Nova 5ds AI scene detection added more pop in the Reds of the collectible. While going for a cooler, you want 4/7 Pro, on the other hand, took a brighter shot with warmer tones.

One of the highlights of the Nova fifties. Cameras are its macro lens and, to be honest at first, it's not that easy to use when focusing. But when you get the hang of it, you really get a nice macro image. As you can see, the 1 / 7 pro looked like we just zoomed into the plan, but the number 5 D got up close and personal, giving us more details. Next up, we have some indoor shots and, as you can see, the 1 + 7 Pro produced a softer, more saturated photo compared to the Nova 5 T sharp image with good color reproduction checking out those ultra whites.

Both did a pretty good job here, but the 1 + 7 pro looked a little more fish i. e. and that's totally a preference, but we kind of like the 5 t shot more here is portrait mode using the rear cameras. Now, in this low lighting scenario, the Nova 5d struggled with subject background separation. You can clearly see this by observing the background.

However, we do think that the Nova 50 did a better job in terms of color reproduction. Now, here are night shots without their night modes turned on and well both images appear noisy and washed out, but the AI scene, detection on the In nova 5c seemed to brighten the photo more. However, when using their night modes, the 1 + 7 Pro produced a brighter and more well-balanced shot overall compared to the Nova 5 T for selfies. As you can see, both images look good and sharp. However, we preferred the natural look from the Nova 5 T in this case, as the 1 / 7 proactive, the highlights a little too much.

Here's another set of selfie samples, and in this scenario we preferred a 1 + 7 Pro more for it's more accurate colors. The Nova 5 T just looks a little done alright. So all in all, both the Huawei Nova 5 t + 1 + 7 Pro, deliver great photos. They both have their ups and downs, but we're giving the cameras to the 1 plus 7 Pro. So now that we've tackled just about everything there is but one important detail.

We need to go through and that's the price, the 1 + 7 Chloe tails locally at digital Walker for a thirty-eight thousand nine hundred ninety pesos for the six gigs of RAM, plus 128 gigs of internal storage model and 42 thousand nine hundred ninety pesos for the 8 + 256 gigs Berries. With those prices you can expect almost everything in your tick boxes check from outstanding performance, two reliable cameras to that amazing display the Huawei Nova 5t, on the other hand, will cost you, eighteen thousand, nine hundred ninety pesos. What you get is a flagship chipset with good cameras and an ample battery life for day-to-day use. Now we know that these two phones don't even come close with their price tags, but it's clear that you get all the worthy premium features from the OnePlus 7 pro for a premium price as well and that's great. But do you really need it all? If all you need is a phone that can deliver powerful performance and dependable features for everyday use, then I recommend that you save your money and get a phone like the Nova 50.

Instead, the Nova 50 kind of feels like the needs in this scenario and the 1 / 7 pro is kind of the wants. So if you really want that one plus 7 Pro and you have the money, then by all means, go get it because we promise that you won't regret it. Although you do note that these two phones don't have headphone jacks and expandable storage. So if that's a problem for you, then these two phones might not be the ones for you. So there you have it guys based off your personal situations.
