Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G Foldable Phone Review - Durability, Camera, Battery Life & more TESTED 🇱🇰

So, here are the guys with one here from android. com foldable smartphones have been coming out in the market for a bit now and Samsung is one of those pioneering companies that brought this concept to life with the z-flip, as well as the full series, and here I have Samsung's z42 5g foldable smartphone- that I've been using for almost six months at this point using is using it as my daily driver smartphone. So in this video, I'm going to be sharing with you guys the pros and the cons that I faced with the z425g and tell you guys all about it and uh what I thought about it over the time period that I used it. You can use this phone as an actual phone with this little screen at the front, or you can use it as a tablet by expanding it. And then, if you don't want the tablet, you can fold it back and voil?. You have a small smartphone back again, and it's easily profitable just a little thick.

But this concept- I really dig and, in my opinion, spoiler, that this was the best smartphone of 2020 and that's why it ended up in my pocket when I entered the year last year, and it's still rocking in my pocket even after the s21 lineup is here we have the s21 ultra. We have the s21 plus, and then we also have the s21 over here. But my primary smartphone, even right now, even after the latest Samsung smartphones are here, is the z425d and there's a very good reason for that, and that is what I'm going to be telling you guys today in my full review, if you guys are new to my channel, go ahead and smash that subscribe button right now, because it helps me out a lot and uh. Let's get start talking about the z425 in 2019, when Samsung originally came out with the first foldable smartphone, I personally wasn't a big fan of it because it had quite a lot of gripes for one the screen at the front. It wasn't that usable.

It was quite small, and also, let's not forget, that it had a lot of hinge issues and a lot of display issues, and it started breaking, and it was a whole mess. But this time, uh last year, when Samsung launched the default to 5g, they focused on fixing the majority of those issues and bring you guys over a complete foldable, smartphone, and I'm happy to say, even after almost six months of daily use, my z425g is still working flawlessly, no issues whatsoever. The uh only thing that I really wish this phone had was water resistance, because if this phone had water resistance, man I mean like- I could use this for another two or three years. Even I think, because it is has everything that I actually need in a phone. It has a phone.

It has a tablet, and also I can get my work done with this kind of layout, where we give where I get the keyboard over here and the display over here. Furthermore, it has a lot of cool new modes. That Samsung has really thought out. It has the nice camera function, built in when you, when you place your phone like this on a table or whatever surface you can use the camera uh. This camera, like this, even without using a tripod which is such a cool feature that I personally used quite a lot in the time that I use this smartphone and uh.

You know it's those little things that add up to the experience and Samsung really has focused on improving the z4 to 5g, like that, when talking about the displays the default to 5g has two displays like I said, we have an outer screen over here, and we have that internal screen. So the outer screen is a 6.2 inch panel and then the internal display is a 7.6 inch display, and this time the hinge mechanism, let me tell you are pretty sturdy, and it gives a very satisfying sound here this up, opening it up. I can do that all day and when you're working you can use it like this, just like a book, and you can type and get whatever done and then, when you're done, you can close it up like this, and you can answer your calls in this orientation, or you can open it up. Put it on speaker, get your work done and still have your call as well. It's been pretty productive with the z4 to 5g in the time that I personally used it, so now we'll get into the pros and the cons so that I can break it down for you guys what I felt overall in the time that I used this phone, I mainly used it as a tablet, because it's very rare that I get to carry a tablet in my pocket right.

So every time I go out to a caf? to get some work done or when I'm outside in the vehicle. When I want to get some productive work done, I don't use this front screen at all. In fact, I only rarely use this front screen. I used it to make calls and stuff, but other than that it was all done using this internal screen, whether it was to look at Google Maps whether it was to shoot pictures, whether it was to make some scripts or make some documents using Google Docs, google sheets or any of that, or whether it was to get some entertainment with YouTube Netflix. And all of that, this internal screen is what I really enjoyed.

Something I didn't really enjoy was the fact that the outer screen, of course, was pretty good with this glass finish but uh the internal screen, we know uh. This is affordable smartphone, so they really can't have glass here, because physics right glass doesn't bend. So in that case they have a hybrid material right here and that material is not feeling as great to the finger when you're using live glass. So I would like to see that improve moving forward, and I'm pretty sure, with Samsung making more and more foldable tech uh. We will come to a point where we get uh really sturdy internal displays uh on the foldable smartphones as well, because uh, I have one small scratch on the screen on the inside after almost six months.

That's pretty good and uh at the front. There's absolutely nothing because it's glass, and it's pretty sturdy on the outside, and before you ask yes, the crease is still out here uh when you open the phone up, that's the main thing, a lot of people notice. Every time I give them this phone to check out. That is the thing they notice, and that is the thing they ask about as well uh does it have a crease and does it feel awkward? Actually after using it for almost six months? I don't even think about the crease anymore. I just see it occasionally sometimes uh when I'm watching something and due to the light changes, I see it sometimes, but then, more or less, I don't even focus on the crease anymore, because the overall experience on this phone is pretty great and because I can get all of my work done with this.

Furthermore, I love it and I like the fact that Samsung has built uh cool features, like you know, when you're using uh Google Maps on this front screen for an example. So let me just load up Google Maps right here so that I can share that with you guys. So, if you have Google Maps opened up here now here we have Sri Lanka here opened up on the front of the phone. Now when I go ahead and expand this view, we still get Sri Lanka over here on the device. So you know it's that kind of continuity that I really enjoy on this phone, because both the internal uh, the inside screen and the outside screen they're linked together.

It's all linked through the software. So when you're watching something on YouTube as well, that still works applies. So you get the full experience on the inner screen, which is pretty great and need to have I mean, like you, don't need to switch devices or anything. If not, what would the alternative be? It would be to use a smartphone and a tablet, but you don't get that kind of continuity anywhere. Even on iOS with the iPhone or iPad, you don't get this kind of continuity, so that is what I really enjoy and uh talking about things that I really like the camera experience on.

This has been really stellar top-notch camera quality on the z425g, just like with the note 20 ultra the camera quality has been superb, not only for daytime pictures but for nighttime features as well, and I was able to make use of this particular mode that I told you guys about previously to place the device just like this on a table or whatever and get uh shots done actually uh. I used this particular mode to capture some amazing time lapses, as well uh in the in my honeymoon when I went to different locations and hotels, I actually kept this device on the table and uh kept recording throughout consecutively, and I was able to get some amazing time lapses that I would like to share a little with you guys, but I'm planning to make another video focused on that. So if you guys would like to check that out, I have a link for that down below when that video goes live as well. For now, here's a little these are some time lapses that I shot with the galaxy z4 to 5g right here in Sri Lanka. So you guys want to see more of those time lapses.

Definitely check out my other video I'll have a link for that. Like I said down below in the description- and here are some pictures so that you guys can judge the camera quality on this, so it has all the bells and whistles. We have ultra-wide angle, camera. We have a wide angle, camera we have the telephoto camera as well, and the video quality um also is pretty great but uh mainly it's the photos that I really enjoyed and uh for the for taking pictures as a mode that I really enjoyed was using this flip out screen. That is here.

So I can open it up like this and then, when I hit on the selfie button uh, I can actually get this view at the front of the device. So if I turn it on for the cover screen, whatever I see on the inside the internal screen, you can see it on the outside as well. That is pretty neat, and I used it a lot to capture selfies and all of that as well with the z4 2 5g has been really great. It's a nice experience um the overall that I got with the z4 to 5g. It came to the camera experience of this phone when talking about something that Samsung can really improve.

On with the z425g, I think, is the battery life. I'm not saying that the battery life was bad by any means, because uh this phone lasted me almost an entire day when I used the combination of the outside screen and the inside screen. But the majority of the time when I use the inside screen quite a lot uh. I noticed that the battery drained really really really fast, with all the stereo speakers used up for Netflix and with me, multitasking, with the browser having multiple windows opened up with multiple docs opened up in the background as well, and getting some productive work done outside and shooting pictures and doing all of that using Google Maps it drains a lot of battery and this screen is 120 hertz panel light, and it's a big screen that we have on the inside, and it drains battery. Because of that, I guess but uh it wasn't really that bad because of fast charging.

We have fast wired as well as wireless charging here with the z4 to 5g, so I just had to plug it in for a quick charge, and I was ready to go uh again in another 30 minutes to one up to one hour uh. This phone was ready to go, so that's pretty great to have uh that feature built into the phone, so not much of a complaint. But I wanted you guys to know and of course the main thing like I always say about folder and smartphones- that I want to improve uh. The feature that I want to see the most is having water resistance on these phones because uh at this point for certain scenarios, I think twice before taking this phone out because uh you know it's not water resistant. So I don't want to put this hinge mechanism at risk.

I don't want to put this phone at risk because it's such an expensive smartphone, so I don't really want to break it as well. So because of that and in those times I used the s21 ultra nowadays, but before that I was using the note 20 ultra that I also have over here for my day-to-day activities mainly that you know uh more adventurous activities, I would say so yeah. Let me know what you guys also feel about uh foldable smartphones, not having got resistance at this point. I'm sure Samsung and other companies are working on that tech, and I really can't wait uh to see that arriving at to the new foldable smartphones. The rumors say that this year, Samsung is making three foldable smartphone models, so we'll have to wait and see what improvements they make to this range, and I really can't wait to get my hands on those models to bring you guys.

Some exclusive coverage, just like I'm doing with the z4 to 5g, so with all those good things that the z4 to 5g has to offer the main reason. A lot of people don't really want to get into this. Smartphone is the price because it costs quite a lot. The z4 2 5g is priced at 399 999 Sri Lankan rupees uh. That was the original price at this point, I'm not so sure whether the price is discounted, if by any chance, if that's the case, I'll have an update in the comment section below, if you guys are interested, but for that price.

The overall experience that you get is pretty great uh and when you think about it in real life, whether you want to spend almost 300 000 on a phone and another 200 000 on a tablet, then again that's 500 000, but you get this for 400 000 with much more features, and you know the continuity like. I said. If you have two individual devices, do you get that kind of continuity like you have a phone here as well as a tablet on the inside? That's what that's! What you pay that premium for with the z4 to 5g and, of course this phone is future-proof like I keep telling this is a 5g compatible smartphone. The Samsung has been built into the name itself to show its importance. So in the new feature, when 5g is available, you will be able to make the maximum out of this phone with 5g as well.

I'm pretty sure if you go here and pick it up at that price. I'm sure that if you are not that adventurous and if you don't uh, you know really require a water resistant smartphone and if you're looking to uh looking for a phone that can replace both a phone, a laptop and kind of color like your laptop as well, I think the z425g might be for you. Furthermore, I would encourage you to first go ahead and check it out if possible, before you go ahead and buy one and after that you can go ahead and make your purchase position with the z425g. Furthermore, I think it's a pretty great phone even after six months. That's why I'm still rocking it in my pocket, loving it so far, can't wait for the next foldable smartphone to arrive and definitely stay tuned right here on android to see my exclusive coverage of those as well, because I'm excited about the next generation of foldable, smartphones and rollable smartphones and all kinds of tech dropping in so uh.

Let's wait and see, and that's the main reason like I said before, why I can't carry the galaxy s21 ultra such a beastly, powerful smartphone. I'm you know not carrying this phone in my pocket as my daily smartphone majority of the time, because I am carrying this z4 to 5g, because it has everything that I need in one device except forward resistance, of course, so um. If there's anything else, you guys want to share about the z4 to 5g by any chance you got to use one or if you bought one, go ahead and drop a comment down below and let me know what you guys thought about the device and if you would like to buy a foldable smartphone, what's the main thing that you want to see it having, and would you really pay that kind of premium price for a phone and a tablet like this? We have to call it a hybrid device, or we are not doing this device any justice. So I want to end this video on that high note overall, really great device. Majority of the things are positive, with a little of negative.

Like always, no device is perfect at the end of the day, so uh. That was my experience with the two 5g. In the time that I personally used it on a day-to-day basis for almost six months, let me know what you guys thought about my opinions on this device by dropping a comment down below. If you guys are new to my channel, I would really appreciate it if you can go here and smash the subscribe button right now and also go ahead and share this video with all of your friends. All over social media share this video with a friend who's looking to buy a new phone or a new tablet.

This might be the perfect device for them, because this replaces both of them and also uh stadium2. com for the latest from the tech world, and until I see you guys in my next video, you.
