Samsung Galaxy Note10 Lite Updated Review (Late 2020) - Even Better Deal Than Ever? By TechDaily

What's going on guys, my name is wade with tech daily. So with the new note, 20 and note 20 ultra out now, I thought this would be a great time to revisit the other note device that Samsung did actually launch this year way back in January. The note 10 lite. This is a phone that I think for most people are actually the note device to get it's significantly more affordable, a lot of ways, a better overall value. All things considered, and I think it offers fewer compromises than the standard note 20, and a more practical array of features and specs for the price versus the note 20 ultra. So in this video we're gonna re-review this device.

Now that it's been out for eight or nine months now I'll talk about all the things. I like a couple of things I don't and in the end, maybe this will help you decide whether this phone is for you, like I mentioned already the note, 10 lite debuted way back at CES in January and was slightly cheaper, but not all that different from the flagship note 10 that had come out last year when it launched the note 10 lite had a retail price of around 600, which was a good deal compared to the almost 1 000 flagship note 10, that launched just a few months before it now, since this phone has been out for a while, you can get a new note, 10 light for well under 450 and in fact, some places like Amazon list, this device for close to 400 or even under that, and if you're interested in doing some comparison shopping of your own, or maybe you want to buy this phone for yourself. I will have some links down below in the video description to where you can get this phone at its cheapest current prices. Now, for all intents and purposes, this phone is a Samsung note device in every way. It's a big phone with a big screen.

It packs most of the specs and capabilities you might want it of course, packs a full-featured s-pen and all the software that comes with that, and when you stack this up against last year's note 10, and even this year's new note 20 line, it's easy to see why this phone is such a good deal with. That being said, there are a few things that do make. This note 10 light a little less like a flagship and a little more like a mid-range device, starting with a build. The note 10 lite is an all plastic phone, think, a51 or a71. That's exactly how this phone feels.

It looks great though, especially in this or glow color. That rainbow effect is something Samsung is known for, and the material doesn't feel cheap. It does still sort of mimic glass. The polished, chrome frame is also a nice touch and sort of finishes off the semi premium. Look, and with this cheaper build, you do lose out on a couple of things like wireless charging and a water resistance rating.

To be honest, though, I can look past. Those things and keep in mind too, that the new standard note 20 that sells for a thousand bucks that has a plastic back too materials aside. The note 10 lite looks about as nice and as premium as any other flagship phone, which is great and taking a look around you'll, see that this device has very few compromises on the left side. There's the sim and SD card tray, so you've got expandable storage on this phone, which I think is a big plus. The right side has the usual power and volume buttons down below.

There's the headphone jack, which I know a lot of people still like to see, along with the USB charging port speaker and the s pen, of course, around back there's a really solid, triple camera setup, which I'll get into in just a minute and up front. There's an in-display fingerprint sensor, which I think is good enough for the most part, it's similar to the a51 and a71, but not quite as fast as some newer flagship phones but pairing it up with face unlock. You can get into the device plenty fast enough anyway. Physically, there's just not a lot. I'd change about the note 10 light, honestly aside from maybe missing out on dual stereo speakers, but the build overall is fine.

The phone looks really nice, the headphone jack and the SD card slot are little extras that you won't even get on the regular note, 10 or note 20 anyway. In regard to the display the note 10 lite offers a massive 6.7 inch super AMOLED screen at a resolution of 2400 by 1080 packing in around 394 pixels per inch. This is a big phone and one-handed use might be tough, but I know for a lot of people getting a phone. This size is great and when viewing content, but especially when utilizing the s pen a display like this definitely comes in handy on one hand, the viewing experience with the note 10 lite is solid. It's a relatively bright display with bold colors, and while it isn't pushing the limits, I think it's about what you might expect considering.

This phone was released back in January after all, and just strictly looking at resolution anyway. Once again, this is exactly what you would get on a regular note 10, and even this year's regular note 20, which is just crazy to me. So in one sense you aren't really compromising on much, but at the same time the AMOLED screen itself is a tiny bit outdated. Now and more importantly, the note 10 lite doesn't offer any high refresh rate option which really back in January this year when this phone was released, it wasn't a big deal, but now, eight or nine months later, with phones like the OnePlus word having a 90hz display. It does make this phone feel just that much more behind the times in general, though, there's nothing wrong with a screen for a vast majority of people, it's a great viewing experience and, like I said as strange as it sounds, it's not all that different from even the more expensive flagship.

Note, phones, realistically, the reason anyone might even consider this phone at all is because it's a note device, which means you've got that built-in s-pen and all the features and add-ons that come with it. Given the fact that the note 10 lite sounds like a budget or watered-down version of its flagship counterpart, you might reasonably expect that this phone has less s, pen features, but that's actually not the case at all. Everything you can do with the s pen. On the standard note 10 and by extension even the new note.20, is also available on this note.10 lite from jotting down, notes to smart, select, screenwriting, live messages and more. This is a full-fledged feature-packed note device in every sense.

The s-pen itself is also exactly the same too, and with that you get some gesture controls and the ability to utilize the button on the side for snapping selfies, for example, and other little features and tasks. Sure the s pen experience when writing on this note, 10 light may not feel as smooth or as accurate or as quick as the updated note 20 with its improvements in latency. But that's not really a big deal to me. The main point here really is that, while the standard note 10, and especially the new note, 20s may have been way outside the price range for some people. This note 10 light is a lot more attainable for those who want the features and functions of the s-pen, and if you are interested in this phone in particular, you can be assured that you aren't compromising on those note functionalities.

It is the exact same note device. Others may pay a four-figure price tag for, but that you can snag for considerably less money and while the s-pen may not be for everyone, I think, if you're looking at this phone, specifically versus like a s10 light, for example, or the a51 or a71, you likely value the stylus features and experience you're, probably going to use them a lot, and it's probably the thing you're. Looking at more than anything else, I do think the s pen alone is really what makes this phone such a good value, when you consider just how much you'd be paying otherwise going with a flagship note device when, in the end, you do get all the same features and functions anyway. The thing that actually does separate this note, 10 light from really any flagship device, is the internal specs. You get the Enos 9810 powering this phone paired with either six or eight gigabytes of ram and UFS 2.1 storage, with the option to throw in a SD card and really three out of those. Four things are great, but it's the processor.

I think that people will have the biggest issue with the 9810 back in January, when this phone was released was already a year old, and now that it's approaching its second birthday, this chipset, I think, does fall short when compared to some other options out there. It is also an Enos ship. After all- and we know they have some issues with optimization and overheating, so I can see why some people might have an issue for me personally. I still found this phone to be relatively fast and fully capable, and some recent android and Samsung UI updates have kept this phone feeling fresh and up to date, which is great. It is still a very powerful phone.

All things considered, especially for the price, whether you get six or eight gigs of ram. I think that's more than enough either way to keep up with whatever it is. You want to do it's not the powerhouse flagship phone, like the regular flagship note line, but it's still plenty for most people and while performance isn't necessarily an issue. I do still think it is a factor when considering this phone, just because of the chipset itself inside but, like I said earlier, also in comparing what else is out there on the market now. But to be honest, if the less than ideal processor is the only thing worthy of criticism on this note, 10 lite I'd still consider it a great buy, and I do for a vast majority of people.

You'll get your money's worth and then some anyway, regardless of the Enos chip inside when it comes to battery life. In my opinion, there were no compromises here. The 4 500 William battery inside for me has yielded easily a full day's use on a single charge, and those of you who maybe are a little more conservative with your phone usage, might make this device. Last more than a day on a single charge. The 25 watt power, adapter included in the box, can juice this phone up in a little over an hour and all in all, I think the battery potential is just another aspect that makes this note 10 light a very powerful device.

Last but not least, let's talk about all those cameras. The note 10 light has an interesting triple lens setup around back that consists of a 12 megapixel main lens 12 megapixel telephoto lens and a 12 megapixel ultra-wide up front. It also offers a really solid, 32 megapixel selfie camera. When it comes to capabilities and software features, this phone has pretty much everything you could ask for from night mode to super slo-mo, and even pro video controls there isn't anything missing. You can even shoot in 4k, with both the front and rear lenses and in my experience, pictures and videos were just as good as the standard flagship note, 10 devices, which I think says a lot to be totally honest.

I think this one does actually take better pictures than even the a51 and a71, and those phones are a little newer with very different camera specs. I don't necessarily think the camera setup is a selling point on the note 10 lite, but I think everything else you do get is a big plus more than anything, and I have no complaints with the results, unlike some other mid-range devices, which still might not be up to par. The note 10 lite is a fully capable and feature packed picture and video taker. Even now, more than eight months after its initial release, I still think the note 10 lite is probably the note device that most people should end up, choosing it's still a 2020 smartphone. After all, with most of the features and specs you might want, but at an even better price than ever and most importantly, it's a Samsung note device with the s pen features that I know a lot of people appreciate, and I think, given the compromises, we saw with last year's regular note 10, and this year's regular note 20.

This note, 10 lite, makes even more sense. It's a great value and I definitely recommend it so there you go. That's everything you need to know about the note 10 lite.
