Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra VS Galaxy Note 10 Plus Camera Comparison

What's up guys back with another video today I have my hands on the new Samsung Galaxy note, 20 ultra and the Samsung Galaxy note, 10, plus from last year, in my five days later impressions video. A lot of you guys wanted to see a camera comparison between these two and here we are in this video, I'm going to dive into details on both cameras and try to strike a precise balance between the two. So you can decide which device to pick if the camera is the last main decider for you, alongside this video, I'm working on a full review for the note 20 ultra coming soon so hit that subscribe button and turn on notifications. So you don't miss that video and let's get into it to start this off. Let's get you up to speed on the camera specs on both phones on the Samsung Galaxy note, 20 ultra you get a triple camera setup, a 108, megapixel, f, 1.8, wide angle, lens, a 12, megapixel, f, 3.0, periscope, telephoto, lens 12, megapixel, f, 2.2, ultra lens and a 10 megapixel f, 2.2, wide selfie camera. On the Samsung Galaxy note, 10 plus you get a quad 12, megapixel, f, 1.4, 2.4, wide angle, lens 12, megapixel, f, 2.1, telephoto, lens 16, megapixel, f, 2.2, ultrawide lens a 0.3, megapixel time of flight 3d depth sensor and similarly, the Norton plus sports, a 10, megapixel, f, 2.2, wide angle, selfie camera. As always, with all my camera comparison tests.

I installed all the latest software updates, other phones turned off any beauty modes and the camera lenses were cleaned prior to taking these shots. What you see here is the raw untouched image and footage quality you'll get if you chose to go out and buy the phones. Let's talk about the selfie cameras. The selfies shot on both phones are pleasing to the eye they feel rich. Detailed and clarity is nothing short of amazing straight out of the gate.

Color temperature in both phones is similar. You might get a slight variation in color temperature once in a while, but both phones do a great job at keeping colors and tones consistent in the cool side. The ultra dangle mode on both phones is also impressive, with the Norton plus fitting a lot more into the shot compared to the Galaxy Note, 20 ultra in terms of portrait selfies, the junior software used to blur the background does a perfect job in mapping out the edges of the subject in focus, while keeping the clarity and colors of the shot top-notch. One thing you should note, however, is both phones struggle, finding your face with the mask on so for accurate, good portrait surface your mask is going to have to come off on front facing video. These samples are both short with the wide angle lens at 4k 30 frames per.

Second, both phones do a phenomenal job. Balancing the background lighting. The moment you hit record to the most apparent issue here is color. Temperature clarity is on point. How about shouldn't I move around quarantine has been so long.

I grew up here like okay, back to serious things. Color temperature on both samples also behave. Similarly, when you stay still a recording video color temperatures are warm. They remain warm as you move around, and both photos do a good job, balancing the light and keeping focus on you once you increase the focal length I. e.

the distance between you and the camera, the color temperatures shift to cooler tones. These results stayed consistent in the vlogging that I did on both phones. Stabilization on videos short in motion is also top-notch on both phones. The only grip you might experience is how the note 10, plus slightly struggles to balance exposure when you're moving around the note2 ultra produces this natural both effect in the video which I find pretty appealing and just adds to the aesthetic of the video also talk to me about the audio quality from these samples. Also, for those wondering the selfie cutouts on both phones are centered, with the note 20 ultras cut out ever slightly smaller than that on the note, 10, plus moving on to the rear main cameras, the 108 megapixel shooter on the Galaxy Note, 20 ultra and the 12 megapixel lens on the note 10 plus, are just superb.

I particularly like the human subject: images both cameras produce which are consistent accuracy, contrast, detail and sharpness on this lens. Camera temperature is similar on both phones, with only difference coming in on the background objects where, in some shots those from the note2 ultra look a bit washed out or overexposed. It's not a major issue, since the object in focus is okay and not washed out dynamic range here is fine ascend from the cloud in the sky, the green in the hedge individual, poles in the fans, the colors in the playground and the individual yellow beams, supporting the building moving on to the untrod shots, both phones, sport, a 12, megapixel, wide angle, shooter with a 120-degree angle, field of view on the note, 20 ultra and a 123 degree field of view angle on the note 10 plus, as such you'll notice, the Galaxy Note 10 plus fit a lot more into the frame compared to the note 20 ultra, I must say all trade images are just stunning: both phones fit quite a ton in frame and managed to keep colors consistent, natural and clear, even with the scene. Optimizer turned off side by side. The note 20 ultra appears to produce higher contrast images compared to those on the note 10 plus, but it's something you recognize the longer you stare at both samples, color temperature is similar in both phones and dynamic range is just up there as expected on Samsung flagships.

By the way, if you're enjoying this video, our sub to the channel will be massive as you edge closer and closer to 2000 subscribers. Thanks moving on to the portrait mode section on both phones. Here, things got a bit tricky for the nut and plus in the ultrawide angle. Blur images are washed out with the blast spread, quite literally all over the subject in focus to sort of rectify this in post image processing. The phone throws heavier blur to the background of the subject, and that gives this look that the shot was intended like that side by side.

With the Galaxy Note, 20 ultra, you can clearly see the differences in night and day with an automatic, ultra or mapping out the subject edges properly, giving accurate colors sharpness and contrast from the wide perspective where the phone zooms into the subject, things get better and the Norton plus produces image quality closer to or even at par with, that of the note 20 ultra. The blade is mapped out very clearly and nothing intrudes into the object in focus and results stay consistent. Now this is a perfect segue to delve into the telephoto lens on the Galaxy Note, 20 ultra, and that, on the Galaxy Note, 10 plus both phones have a 12 megapixel telephoto lens with optical image, stabilization built in on the note 10 plus it supports up to 2x optical zoom and the note2 ultra. We get 5x optical zoom capability. What I did in this segment was to take 2x zone photos and separate 5x zoom photos on both phones for equal perspective at 2x optical zoom.

The Norton plus is in its element, as seen in how the subject in frame is kept natural, accurate, colors and tones all throughout the note.20 ultra h2x zoom also performs well moving things to 5x optical zoom, that the note20 ultra supports and results are just mind-blowing. I especially dig the natural blur effect from the telephoto lens on the note20 ultra, and I was impressed with how the note 10 plus held up that's because at 5x the note 10 plus is zooming in digitally compared to the optical zoom on the note20 ultra and the fact that it can keep up deserves credit, while still on the topic of zooming. In let's talk about the new 50x zoom on the note20 ultra. In fact, let's talk about getting 50x zoom. To give your perspective on how good it is.

So you start here, ultrawide at 0.5 x, capturing everything in the field of view. Next is 1x getting warmer, but we still don't have any apparent subject in frame. Next is 2x zoom and the frame starts coming to life. Picking out objects is now apparent. Next is 3x, and you can see where we're going with this now after that, we go to 5x.

Now we're getting serious as we keep everything still composed. Next is 10x zoom, and here is where the note 10, plus max, is out still keeping image quality stellar like that in the note 20 ultra, but wait the note 20 ultra can go on. So next is 20x, and now it's as, if we're standing directly in front of the carousel 50x, and we just have to marvel at how usable this picture is and how far we've traversed through the focal lengths, the camera offers just utterly, utterly impressive, not finished in the zooming aspect. Something is direly wrong and needs attention on the note20 ultra at 4x zoom, as seen in the viewfinder and image quality in post. You start off well from 0.5 x to 2x, but when you jump to 4x things, get blurry and very finicky as the phone tries to recover the clarity of the image. So have that in mind, while going into this, as we wait for Samsung to fix these issues with a feature software update, nowadays, though playing around with 50x, is pretty much addictive and fun.

I've got no complaints on the knight mode on both phones, as they literally turn night into day with ease in terms of video, the Norton plus maxes out at 4k 60 frames per second, while the note20 ultra maxes out at 8k, steady. Of course, this only maxes out at 1080p. For now how about when I turn around. Ah, a little jog yeah, that's pretty impressive and both of them allow you to change, focus while recording, at which point I feel, like you, lose clarity, especially with super steady mode on. So this here is a wide video mode with super steady mode on.

You can see the note 10, plus uh officer, you can see the note 10 plus offering a wider field of view compared to the note 20 ultra zooming back out to ultrawide they fit almost the same, and now I'm going to turn off super steady mode and show you what I mean when I say with super steady mode, you'll lose a bit of clarity when you zoom in compared to, if you recorded with super steady mode off turning the mode off you get to move between the three lenses on both phones. As you record at this point, you keep quality even at higher focal perspectives. Audio quality is also good, especially with how both phones do a good job, minimizing ambience or surrounding noise, and keeping focus on you. The zoom mic has also gotten better at focusing sound on the object is zooming in on and some points it's sort of creepy. Also, with the note 20 ultra this year, we see a feature that allows you to block sound coming from a particular direction as a record video and that's a nice touch for when you're behind the camera and want your voice to be dominant.

And now you can do 8k in 209 aspect ratios in pro video mode, unlike the Samsung s20 ultra rolling shot in 8k, is greatly reduced on the note 20 ultra, but to really enjoy 8k. I suggest you use it for still videos now. Both phones perform superbly at 4k between 30, fps or 60 frames per second couple that, with optical image stabilization, the footage from both phones is just stellar. So let's wrap this up, you're paying 1 200 for the note, 20 ultra and discounted prices downwards of 800 for the note, 10, plus and getting great versatile cameras for each. What separates them is a small and huge upgrades that make the note 20 ultra for lack of a better word.

As I start straight at the gate, you get similar camera modes on both phones. The note 10 plus has been out for a year now and over that period, it's gotten updates that have refined the camera to what it is right now to a point where it's just a couple of miles. Behind the note 20 ultra the note 20 ultra has hit the ground running, bringing in some new intense upgrades, then bridge half or even more of the distance between a dedicated camera and a smartphone camera. It's proven to be quite versatile, quite confident and always ready to perform it's Samsung's way of correcting where they went wrong on the s20 ultra and proving to be quite useful and innovative, even with the features that are previously thought of as a gimmick. That said, the camera alone won't be the deciding factor for note users.

You might want to consider other aspects of the phone to see if they feature needs before buying the phone stuff, like the display s, pen, battery performance and, above all, the price. If you've got a box of money under your bed, then by all means pick up. The Samsung Galaxy note 20 ultra, if not and you're, trying to be cautious or testing the no totals you can go ahead and pick up the note, 10 plus from last year on deals or discounted prices and wait for the note 20 ultra to get some deals before switching comment below what you take is on individual cameras like this video, lord haven, here signing out. Let me see you in the next one.
