Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G - Unboxing and 1st Impressions

Mm-Hmm, what do we have here? Hey? What's up guys soldier knows best here. Yes, this is the new Samsung Galaxy. Note 20 ultra 5g a lot of words in there, but it should be a lot of good stuff with this phone I'm pumped to start using it. So, let's get to the unboxing and first actually um. This box is really light. It doesn't really even feel like anything's inside there, but hopefully there's a phone in here um.

But let me take this lid off, and first we have the phone right here. Let me put that to the side. It's going to be hard this time, because I would really want to start using that thing, but um actually they're telling me not to accept this package if the seal is broken, but what if the seal was never applied huh anyway, sometimes with these review units they actually get inside the box first, to do some things, I guess but uh yeah. Okay, let's put that to the side, and we have this uh should be a 25 watt, fast charger here and down here we do have an USB, cable and no headphones, and so I do believe there are supposed to be headphones in there. I think Samsung has an unboxing on their channel.

That shows that, but again, sometimes with these review units, they kind of add and replace things and take things out sometimes, so I think that's the case there, but anyway we do have the note 20 ultra finally unboxed and let me get this thing fully, undressed and naked for you. So let me take off this plastic on the back and on the front we do have a cover there and first impressions. Okay, so I really like the way this phone feels on the back. It feels nice um. This is a glass back.

The regular uh galaxy s20 has a plastic back. A lot of people aren't happy with that um, but this one does have a glass back, but it's a matte finish to it. So it just feels excellent, and it doesn't have a lot of reflection and glare that you normally get from a glass back, and this is also going to be better at resisting fingerprints. So I really don't see anything on here so far nice- and this is the mystic bronze color, and they also do offer this in mystic, black and mystic white, and let me do a quick comparison with the Galaxy Note 10 of last year and boom. You can see the big difference.

Look at me talking right there, but it's very reflective, and I'm not even going to clean it off. This is just how it looks with the fingerprints and stuff like that when you wipe it off, it does look really nice, and I really do like this color shift that happens to it. It really looks good in the sunlight, but this matte finish just looks premium. It feels good, and I think it's just going to hold up better in the long run, but then also to the note 20 ultra is a little thicker than the note 10, but the bigger size in this case doesn't make the note 20 feel worse. In my opinion, it actually feels better, especially with the finish on the back and oh.

I wanted to do a test, because the camera modules are completely different. You see you have a bigger one on this note 20 ultra, but I really like, with the note 10, that you can place it flat on the desk, and it doesn't really wobble at all. It's pretty solid, but with this note 20 ultra, let's see how it works on the bottom. It's fine at the top yeah. You see look at that, alright, so taking a tour around the phone on the right hand, side you find the volume and the power buttons on the left-hand side you don't have nothing and then at the top we do find the micro SD card and the sim card tray.

Now I never thought I would be comparing this Galaxy Note.20 ultra to the Pixel 4a that I have over here, um, but the one thing that's kind of interesting is that uh, this Galaxy Note, 20 ultra starts at 1, 300 right and the Pixel 4a is 350, but both of them have 128 gigabytes of storage. Now, on the ultra, you can upgrade up to 512 um, but I think, if you're paying that much uh the base store should be at least 256 gigabytes at this point, and so yeah micros card is not hard to get at this point, and if you use the Galaxy Note before chances are, you might already have one, but still it's just the principle of the fact that in no way should a 350 dollar phone have a seemingly better spec in the eyes of the consumer than a 1300 phone. Now on the bottom, we still have the s pen, but Samsung has moved it over from the right hand, side over to the left-hand side now. One reason for this could just be because the camera module is way bigger than it was um on the note 10. So you see, this is how it looks inside the phone, and it doesn't come directly underneath it, but it does come close enough, so just moving it over here and just rearranging the internals.

You just give yourself more room to breathe, and every inch matters inside these phones, so that could be why they did it now. The x-men does have a couple of new things. This year you do have some new air view and air gestures, and things like that. So, if you're trying to like to hold down the button and draw something in the air, you can do things like going back to your home screen, and I'm going to be different, apps and stuff like that and then also does have lower latency. So I think it's uh around nine milliseconds now, so that's pretty good.

As far as reducing that input lag that you can't have when using the s pen on this phone. Okay. So now as I get, this thing started up, and I go through the setup process. Let's talk real quick about the specs um, so this phone does have the Qualcomm snapdragon 865 plus inside there, which a lot of the top phones are going to have nowadays and then also too, it does come with 12 gigabytes of ram, and then it also does have 5g both sub 6 and millimeter wave, and the display on this phone is a big 6.9 inch, quad, HD, dynamic, AMOLED display it is their infinity o display, and it does have 496 PPI, hdr10, plus 120 hertz, refresh rate that does adjust depending on what you're doing on the phone okay. So I have the phone set up here and let me tell you the screen does look good.

So let me go into the settings though, and make sure I have everything kind of turned up and let me go here and take a look at the motion. Smoothness. It is only as standard, so I'm bumping it up, so now it will adjust um between the lowest and also up to 120 hertz. So let me apply that and just like with the s20 ultra. If you do go up to the highest resolution, you're going to lose that 120 hertz refresh rate.

So it's not going to be supported, so it'll change back down to 60. So if you want the full maximum, goodness here, just make sure you're down on FHD plus, oh and the battery on the note 20 ultra comes in at 4, 500 Williams and with the s20 ultra, you do get 5 000 Williams, so you do have some difference there, but we'll see how the battery holds up. In my testing and on this phone you do have a triple camera setup. So at the top you have a 12, megapixel, ultra-wide camera and then also below that you have the main 108 megapixels, wide angle, camera and below that you do have the 12 megapixel, telephoto camera, and so here are some photos and some videos that I took real quick with this phone. So let me know what you think about them down in the comments I haven't had a chance to look at them yet, but I think they're going to be very similar to what the s20 ultra can do.

But one difference is that the s1 ultra does have that 100 times. Space zoom so again, maxed out at 100 is not going to be the greatest, but when you bumped it down to like 30 or 50, it looked pretty good. So with this note, 20 ultra, you don't have that wide of a space to play around with get it space, but we'll see how this works in my direct comparisons that I'll do between the phones coming up here soon and in promo for video, you have more control over the audio, so you can see your audio levels and then also switch between the multiple microphones that are on the phone and then also you can use some Bluetooth earbuds to be able to have that audio for your video and play around with that, and you have some more controls over focus and stuff. So I'll cover this in my camera section of my review a little deeper to see what all you can do and then Samsung is also working closer with Microsoft, with their Xbox game pass. So in the galaxy store there will be a different app than the one that's in the play store, and this will allow you to like be able to buy tokens and buy skins and stuff like that within games.

But then also there will be a bundle coming out later. That will have like a controller adapter and then also to a few months of the service for free but yeah. Let me get out of here and start using this phone so again. Like always, I really do appreciate you watching this video, please like it. If you do like it and then also to make sure you subscribe and hit that notification bell.

If you haven't already, and thank you for watching again, and I will catch you later, peace.
