Samsung Galaxy A12 Unboxing! (Gaming, Cameras & Speakers) 2021

What is up guys today, we'll be checking out the Samsung Galaxy a12. So this one right now is 200 bucks, but this one will be in a lot of prepaid stores or carriers. Metro boosts mobile stuff, like that, you will see this phone uh in the stores um. You know a few months from now, and it'll be uh, probably much cheaper as well um. So let's go ahead and get started and see what Samsung has to offer here. Let me go ahead and get my knife all right go ahead, and this color, I believe, is called uh.

It was just a blue one yeah. I almost thought it was black in the box. We get our usual paperwork warranty stuff, and here is the phone. We do get our sim tray tool right here. You also get some headphones, which is pretty nice.

Let's see if they have the microphone on it. Yeah, it's got yeah, it's got the microphone on it USB type-c, and then we have our charging brake, and you get an uh converter with it as well. So, as you can see, this is like, I think, a European one. Uh, but this does not have really fast charging- it's 15 watts, so that's not technically fast charging all right. So let's get this guy out and the foam has a kind of weight to it, actually very, very heavy.

Oh, it actually has a texture to it. You guys can see that it actually has a texture. Oh, this one feels so much better than the um the a10. It feels more premium too, even though it's a plastic phone, like I said it's got, you know a 5 000 William battery, so you know, of course it's going to have that that sort of heft to it, but man that is really nice, and it's got more plastic and stuff up here as well, but um. Let me go ahead and take you guys around the phone, real quick before we get into these specs.

Oh, they put the fingerprint scanner in the power button. This time. Oh, I'm really like the changes that they did with this model so far, and it just feels solid too. I love it um again we got our power button right here, volume rockers. Of course, your sim tray down below, of course we have our single firing, uh speaker, headphone, jack, USB type c, of course, and then we have our quad camera setup, led flash, which looks perfect.

It's got a little of a raise to it, so this definitely looks a way better than the 10, so I'm really liking it, and I love this texture. So it's like texture right here and then smooth at the bottom. Alright, so let's go ahead and start off with the display. So it's a 6.5 inch, uh pl sips display uh. It's a 720p plus display 264 for the PPI.

We have the little water drop notch right here as well and overall I like the display um. I went to go, take some pictures with this guy outside, and I wasn't really struggling with. You know: uh brightness and viewing angles overall, it's a pretty vibrant display for an IPS display um. So, like I said it's a pretty decent display. Of course, you're going to have a little of bezel right here uh, but this is like I said a know: it's a budget phone.

It will come down in price uh once it gets on the prepaid carriers as well, but you know you can pick it up unlocked uh too, but you know overall, the display is fine uh, so it would have been nice. You know to have a 1080p display on here, but again this is like Samsung's entry-level phone uh, but really, I think most people will be 100 satisfied. It's vibrant uh! It's you know seeable outdoors, so no real issues with the display here now. This phone does have android 10 with one UI 2.5 right out of the box uh, the overall software experience is pretty smooth on here you have the hello p35 and the power VR graphics, it's the same processor in the lg style 6, which isn't superfast. So we'll do a comparison with that um, but you do have micro, SD support, 32, gigs of internal storage and three gigs of ram.

Now I think the software experience is a little smoother than like the stylus 6, even though that has again the same processor and the same amount of ram um but uh. You are missing like the screen recorder. One here is one thing that I noticed, but I think it has most of the essential stuff people like uh. You do have your adobe at most, of course, you're not going to have like the high-end stuff, like Samsung deck support and all that stuff. Your dark mode is on board uh as well.

We hop into settings advanced features, uh. You will see your smart pop-up. That is here. So you have a lot of the same stuff. You can reduce animations your motion in gestures as well lift away double tap, so you have nice little features on here that I, like um.

You also have your uh one-handed mode, which is really nice. So if this phone is too big, you can go ahead and shrink that down um. You have like a couple ways to do it, but I usually don't need to um. You know, use the one-handed mode game launcher is on here as well too, and uh yeah. So everything is relatively smooth.

You can go back to the buttons, but I'm usually a button person on my phones, but the swipe gestures are actually a fine on here. There's pretty smooth like I said this phone will have like little hiccups here and there, but overall the software experience for this price point- and I know the price is going to come down on this phone- a lot uh. It's its fine me personally. I think it might be a little faster than the style. Actually, let's talk about gaming on this phone again, the p35 processor isn't really super powerful.

So I wouldn't consider this really a gaming phone. It's a casual gaming phone like games like what you saw me playing subway surfer temple, run uh games like that run excellent on this phone, but as you can see, we're on low lowest graphics settings by default in sometimes it's playable you'll get little hiccups here and there, but if you're like a serious mobile gamer and on a budget uh just check out my gaming videos uh, I think check out my gaming videos for uh this budget price point. I have a lot of phones that are, you know, run circles around it. I actually show you guys uh in a comparison, because I do want you guys to get the best. Bang for your money, um, if you're trying to do gaming, I wouldn't really recommend this, but, as you can see, it's playing just fine, but if you're a gamer- and you want to see all the pretty graphics and stuff like that, it's not going to be the phone for you.

Oh, come on all right. Let's talk about some additional features, so this phone does not have any splash resistant rating or IP rating. So do note that again you have your headphone jack on here as well, and you do have a couple of ways of getting into your phone. So, of course you have your pin and pattern, but you have my favorite implementation of the fingerprint scanner, instead of it being on the back like most phones, it's on the side where the power button is, and it just makes for an extremely fast. You know, experience is really, really nice.

I love uh this implementation of the fingerprint scanner, and you do have faced unlock on this phone as well, uh again, which is not going to be as secure as this, but it is very fast and that definitely works. You have a single firing speaker and let's go ahead and check that out all right, we're at max volume. Let's go ahead. Uh so speaker is definitely loud um. You know again not the loudest single firing, speaker, I've ever heard, but definitely loud enough.

So if you're in, like you know a loud environment, you will be able to hear this phone. No problem has a nice little thump to it overall uh, it's a pretty decent speaker, so no real issues uh with that. It's not distorting that high volume uh either. So that's always nice. Let's talk about the cameras on this phone, so you have a quiet, camera setup on this phone.

It's a 48 megapixel standard and a 5 megapixel ultra-wide, a 2 megapixel macro and a 2 megapixel depth. It only shoots in 1080p, though, and you have an eight megapixel selfie camera that shoots in 1080p as well uh. Overall, the photos for this price point: uh were fine um. The color actually came out perfect on this camera. I really like that again, it's kind of like the classic Samsung image processing, where it can kind of be.

Like really vibrant and kind of what people call over contrast, but a lot of people like that uh, you know look or not over contrast over saturated, but a lot of people like that. Look, um the detail on this phone was decent uh, not anything too crazy. So the shots aren't going to blow you away um, but it was fine. The ultra-wide was decent. It kept a decent amount of detail.

Dynamic range is fine uh on this camera too, and I wasn't super sunny out, so it still did a pretty good job. I like how it got these skies. Sometimes I had to retake a photo because it would kind of blur a photo when I was trying to take like a far back photo, and it would kind of blur out certain parts uh, so I'll have to retake it. That's one thing I thought was where it's probably a software thing uh, but overall uh the photos are decent on here, especially if you're in good lighting- and you can get some really nice shots uh with this phone. So I wasn't disappointed with the cameras uh on this phone.

The macro mode was pretty fun to play with as well. You can get really close-up shots uh, and you can see all the little detailing stuff. So I always love uh when smartphone manufacturers implement that, I think it's a really fun camera to play with uh in video I'll go ahead, and let you guys hear what the mic sounds like what the video looks like indoors and outdoors. This is what the mic sounds like outdoors. It's a pretty nice day, pretty sunny, not too bad.

All right. Guys here is what it sounds like indoors: here's what it looks like around some lights, not too bad. Okay, so you have a massive 5 000 William battery life uh in this phone, and you have 15 watt fast charging which, with phones with these you know gigantic batteries. You kind of want to at least see 18 watt fast charging. But this is again, like you know, it's a budget phone uh, but yeah.

I would have liked to seen that, but this is a phone that, if you're a heavy user, this is a phone you will not have to charge within a day if you're a heavy user, you can easily get through uh the day with this phone. If you are like a medium to light user, easy, two days of battery life uh, if not three, because the battery life is just so good Samsung software is really optimized uh well for it as well, um, so yeah. So just awesome. If you're somebody that is always worried about battery life. That's your main thing.

This phone has just a massive battery life, so uh be sure to take that into consideration. Um also, one thing I want to mention is NFC so uh this phone. Does this particular monitor, I don't think, has NFC, but it's market dependent, I'm sure the US virgins always have NFC most of the time. So do you know that if you want your mobile payments, uh be sure to pay attention uh if it has NFC or not uh? So that's pretty much it thanks for watching. What do you guys think of the galaxy a12 be sure to let me know, and I'll catch you guys in the next one?.
