Meizu Mix Review. How Smart is this Watch?

What’s up internet I am Elijah and oday’s we have something special for you, guys. I could have called this a smartwatch but I can’t, since it is simply not a smartwatch. You have probably already guessed or at least read in the description that today’s review will focus on Meizu Mix - usual watch with some smart functions. When I called Meizu Mix usual I have actually meant that it doesn’t have touchscreen, GPS tracker, heart rate or sleep monitors, or any other functions that usually associated with the smartwatches. Instead it has body made of stainless steel and shock proof sapphire glass that protecting the clock face. Meizu Mix also water proof and can withstand immersion up to 30 meters.

Well at least that what manufacturer claiming. I doubt that somebody will actually dive with it 30 meter just to check it. Even taking it to swimming pool seems to be a bit inconvenient since watches weight around 130 gr. And I of course talking about the heaviest version with the steel straps. Besides this there is also versions with the Italian leather and fabric woven straps.

There is Swiss Movement sign above Meizu logo which indicates that mechanism that make the watches ticking, been assembled in Swizerland. What about Smart features you may ask? If you will scan the QR code on the manual in the box, you can download the application that will allow you to connect Meizu Mix to your smartphone via Bluetooth. That will allow you to control your watches by adjusting the time, monitor your steps and receive notifications. The interesting fact that while on the Apple products you can only receive call and short messages notifications, on Android devices you can also set a notifications from application installed on the phone. So every time when you will get a message or a call, LED notification will light up and watches will start slightly vibrate, and for me personally second function was much more useful.

Application is very simple to use, probably because there are not many functions out there. You can obviously monitor number of steps you made through the day and as result calculate calories loss. Application can also be used to turn on the notification, adjust the time and set the targeting amount of steps per day. You also may monitor the progress on the secondary dial. Simply press 2H button on your watches and it will show what percentage of a given number of steps you have already completed.

In total, I have only positive impressions from the use of this watch. It has simple but stylish design and flawless build. Though It is definitely lucking such simple function as heart rate monitoring, which might be quite useful. This watches may definitely suit a person who still prefer classic watches but whish to have some modern technology features as well. And that is all for today.
