POCO M3 PRO 5G UNBOXING: FIRST MEDIATEK NG POCO!

(entertainment music) For today, we will be unboxing the newest and first 5G smartphone from POCO's M series. Hey guys! It's your Tech Girl, Mary. And welcome back to my channel. Today, we will be talking about the newest POCO M3 Pro. I'm actually quite excited, but curious at the same time on what this phone can offer since it's their very first phone guys that will use a MediaTek. And we all know when we say "value for money" one of the brands that will come up to my mind is really the brand, POCO.

So without further ado, let's now proceed to our unboxing. It's your usual POCO packaging. It's all yellow, with of course, the very subtle branding in the middle with POCO M3 Pro 5G on the side. And of course on the bottom, there's written "With easy access to Google Apps you use most. " (entertainment music) Before I forget, the variant that we have right now is the 6GB RAM with 128GB of internal storage.

And the color that we have is the black. Of course I want the yellow one or the blue that we have, but unfortunately, what came to us is the black. So we got this smaller box. And inside, let's see what's in it. Of course, we have the poking tool or the SIM ejector tool.

The unit that we have is of course the retail unit already, so expect that the content of the box that we have right now is what you'll also get when you buy one. We have paperworks and of course, the POCO stickers. Take note guys, this is just the unboxing and first impressions, so I don't really have that much experience with the phone, since I've just recently got it today. And of course, our jelly case. Beneath that, we have the phone itself, of course, and these are the key features that you should know... which is of course, the chipset that is being used— MediaTek Dimensity 700 with dual 5G support, with 90Hz Full HD+ display, a large 5,000mAh battery capacity.

And of course, a 48MP triple camera setup. We got our 18W fast charging power brick, and USB type-C charging cable. To be specific, what this color is called is the power black. And actually, if you guys are not in to black, it has other colors like yellow and blue. So let's have a very quick phone tour.

On the top we have the headphone jack, we have the IR blaster, the secondary microphone, and I'm not sure guys but I think this is a light sensor. On the right, we have, of course, the volume rocker and the power button that doubles as side-mounted fingerprint sensor. On the left is where the SIM tray is located. We have the hybrid SIM tray here. You have a choice if you'll put two SIM cards or one SIM card and one microSD card.

Do take note that it has rubber gaskets on the side of its SIM tray for, you know, extra protection when it comes to some splashes of water. Lastly, on the bottom we have another microphone, USB type-C port, and its speaker. (entertainment music) Okay. So design wise, actually it's a phone that is very prone to fingerprint. And you can see that our phone is full of smudges.

Its back is really glossy. And it's the type of glossy finish guys that even when you just touched it a bit, you'll really see the smudge. So, I suggest, in case that the yellow or the blue one is available here in the Philippines, go for those colors, so the smudges won't be that noticeable. Or just put a jelly case, so you won't have any problems anymore, right? For a closer look, it has a very subtle POCO branding. It's just small.

And it's located on the bottom of its camera setup. And if you'll notice it, its camera housing is just small, but it has an illusion where you'll look at it from afar, it looks like it has a long camera setup. The device is kind of heavy. It weighs 190g to be exact. But, not too heavy because we know that when smartphones are exceeding the 200g, it'll get too heavy and it'll hurt to have it dropped on your face.

So 190g is still acceptable. Upon reading the specifications here guys, it didn't say if it's glass or not, but upon checking, I think it's not glass. It's very plastic-y, but on the brighter side, for the display, it's made of Corning Gorilla Glass 3. So we still have some sort of protection. (entertainment music) Now, speaking of its display, we have a 6.5-inch of Full HD+ LCD Dot display that has 90Hz refresh rate. Actually for my first impressions, after taking the phone from the box, the first thing I wanted to know was if this is an AMOLED display or not.

And I still don't know its specs. I look at its display, and I thought it was an AMOLED. That's how much I like the display that we have here on the POCO M3 Pro. It's that vibrant. Probably it's because of the wallpaper, but yeah, the blacks fooled me a little bit.

Out of the box, of course it's on the regular standard refresh rate, so that we can save some battery. So you have to go to the setttings to activate the 90Hz refresh rate. It also has a dynamic refresh rate switching, with of course a punch hole on the top near in the middle. And by the way, our front camera is 8MP. (entertainment music) Now, since we are talking about the camera, let's now talk about its rear camera setup.

We have 48MP for its main camera, and 2MP macro camera, and the 2MP depth sensor. So we have your typical, you know, triple camera setup that we usually get from a higher budget phone to midrange devices. So yes, having a Pro name or Pro branding doesn't mean that we have a very "Pro" phone that can compete on the flagship lineup. So yes, let's not be so confused when it comes to its naming. So let me give you a very quick camera tour.

While opening the application, of course we have the photo mode. On the right we have the portrait mode wherein we can adjust the bokeh from f/1.0 to f/1.16. We can also use the beautify, and you know, choose a few filters. Going on its more menu, we have the nigh mode, of course, a 48MP option, the short video, panorama, slow motion, and time-lapse. When it comes to the night mode, we can use the night mode using the main 48MP camera, but not on the 8MP front camera.

Onto the video mode, we can shoot up to 1080p at 30 FPS including the front camera. And lastly of course, we have the pro mode. On the top, onto the upper right most, we have like lines. Here we have other menu like the settings, movie frame, grid lines, macro mode, tilt shift, and timed burst. Of course, we also have filters for the main camera, AI camera, HDRa, and HDR and of course, the flash.

So guys, let me share with you the photos that I took using the POCO M3 5G today, and let me know your opinion about the photos and if you have any questions about it, and I'll be answering... Right now, for the chipset that is used on the POCO M3 Pro 5G, to those who are not aware or to those who are their first time to hear this chipset... Guys, it's not new. Other brands already used this. But, I think this is the first time that the POCO series used this.

I'll say it again, it has the MediaTek Dimensity 700 that has a 7nm processor, octa-core CPU up to 2.2Ghz. And of course, again we have the 6GB RAM that has 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage. (entertainment music) And before I forget to mention it guys, it already has the latest MIUI 12 based on Android 11. Well, according to POCO this is their leading 7nm processor that offers a flagship level experience and power efficiency. Actually, I'm very curious on what the MediaTek Dimensity 700 can offer, because guys it's my first time to use this kind of chipset on any smartphone that I've tried.

So far, in terms of multi-tasking, it's a pretty decent chipset that performs really well in terms of social media use, or from switching between applications. By the way, I'll just correct what I've said earlier. I mentioned that the power brick that is included its box is 18W. It's actually 22.5W... the power brick that is included in the box.

But the phone is only capable up to 18W of fast charging. (entertainment music) Anyway, since we are already talking about charging... A while ago guys, I mentioned that it has a 5,000mAh of battery capacity, which is actually quite reasonable on why the device is kind of heavy. According to POCO, we have two kind of variants that will be available in the market. It's either the 4GB RAM or the 6GB of RAM.

And if you'll notice it, its storage has upgraded from 2.1 to now where we have 2.2. So this means that our reading and write speed will be faster and more efficient. And just a trivia, do you know guys that it's also a first time for POCO to put a higher refresh rate on their M series. So yes, I'm very curious guys on what the POCO M3 Pro 5G will offer me on the following days, which is why guys you should look out for our full review. And of course, it's official... the retail price here in the Philippines and... and of course, so we'll know if it will be released here in the Philippines or not.

But I feel like it'll be released guys. Maybe we'll just have to wait after one to two weeks. So overall guys, for me, POCO M3 Pro 5G is probably, you know, one of the phones that I can recommend in terms of smartphones that is great to use for your everyday use. It may not have an AMOLED display, but I really appreciate this phone for having a higher refresh rate and of course, a 5G ready chipset. Anyway, this is just our early verdict.

So yes, that is it for our POCO M3 Pro 5G unboxing and hands-on video. So do take note this is just my first impressions. If it's lacking, it's because it's not yet a full review. Again, it's your Tech Girl, Mary, and see you on my next video. Bye guys!.
