Samsung Galaxy A51 vs iPhone 12 - Who Will Win?

Hey everybody- this is Andre here with the Kevin breeze channel and in this video we're going to be doing a comparison between the Samsung Galaxy a51 and the Apple iPhone 12. To get more information about the pricing and availability of these devices definitely check the link in the description. The link for the Samsung Galaxy a51 will actually take you right to the phone on Samsung's website, where a lot of the time they have some great trade-in deals that you might not be able to find anywhere else. That being said, let's get started so the Samsung Galaxy a51 has a six and a half inch super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080p a PPI of 405 and an aspect ratio of 20 by nine. We got a hole, punch right here for the front facing camera, and this camera is 32 megapixels. I have to say this hole.

Punch cameras do look really nice. The iPhone 12 has a 6.1 inch OLED display with a resolution of 1170x2532 a PPI of 460 and an aspect ratio of 19.5 by 9. The front-facing camera on the iPhone is right here on this notch, and this camera is 12 megapixels. So overall, both of these phones do have perfect displays. Obviously, the Samsung Galaxy a51 is quite a bit bigger than far as that goes, but even though the Samsung Galaxy a51 is a lot bigger, the iPhone still is a decent size and the iPhone has a much higher quality display with a higher resolution and a higher PPI.

It's overall going to be better for things where the graphics and the quality of the image really matter. If you're doing something like photo editing or gaming, then you might value this over the size of the screen. On the other hand, if you're doing something like streaming, videos or reading, then having a larger display would come in handy. Another thing to consider is, of course, if you like, a larger phone or a smaller one, because if you don't like having to carry around a larger phone in your pocket, then the iPhone also has an advantage there. Now the Samsung Galaxy a51 has 128 gigabytes of internal storage with micro, SD card expansion and the iPhone has 64 gigabytes of internal storage and the iPhone does not have micro, SD card expansion.

So definitely the Samsung Galaxy a51 has a huge advantage. As far as storage goes. Not only does it have double the storage as this iPhone, but it also has the option for micros card expansion. So if you have a ton of photos and videos that you need to store on your phone, then you can use a micro SD card for that and then save the internal storage on the phone itself for things like apps. If you have larger apps like games, this is definitely going to come in handy.

The iPhone with 64 gigabytes of internal storage really isn't bad either, but 64 is really my minimum. That being said, you can get other variants of the iPhone 12 with more storage up to 256 gigabytes at that, but that version is gonna, be a lot more expensive than this specific iPhone here and there's already a huge price difference between these two phones. So that is something to keep in mind. For the sake of this comparison, the Samsung Galaxy a51 definitely does have a huge advantage. Now the Samsung Galaxy a51 does not have wireless charging, but the iPhone does wireless charging is a nice feature to have, and hopefully in the future, they do start implementing this feature on more mid-range phones, because I think that those phones should have wireless charging too in this day and age.

Now both of these phones have faced unlock, but the iPhone doesn't have a fingerprint scanner, whereas the Samsung Galaxy a51 does face. Unlock in itself is pretty nice, but it's even better to have a fingerprint scanner too, because sometimes face unlock, isn't really that convenient and other times the fingerprint scanner works better. It's nice to have both options, so you never actually have to type in a pin. That being said, we're going to test out the fingerprint scanner on the Samsung Galaxy a51 and see how it works. So it's right in the display here.

I think it's a nice spot, it's not quite as convenient as the ones that are on the power button, but it looks a lot better, and it opens right up. Let's try one more time there we go after the second try and on that second try. I intentionally put my thumb in a weird angle, just to see how well it read it, and it still opened up perfectly on the second try. So this fingerprint scanner is perfect. I have to admit the first time I ever saw an in-display fingerprint scanner.

I was a little skeptical of it. Furthermore, I wasn't really sure how well it was actually gonna work, but this fingerprint scanner really does work. Well now, taking a look at the camera setups of these two phones, the Samsung Galaxy a51, has a 48 megapixel rear camera, a 12 megapixel ultra-wide camera, a 5 megapixel depth, sensing camera and a 5 megapixel macro camera. The iPhone 12 has a 12 megapixel rear camera and a 12 megapixel ultra-wide camera, so they have pretty comparable features. The one thing the iPhone doesn't have that the Samsung Galaxy a51 does have.

Is a macro camera now the macro camera is useful in some situations, but if I had to choose between the two I would always choose the ultrawide camera. So I am glad that the iPhone has an ultrawide camera instead of just a macro camera, because I've seen that on some phones and usually, if there's no ultra-wide camera. But there is a macro camera. I really don't care about the macro camera just because it only has one purpose that I don't really think is that applicable to real life. I mean it's cool and everything, but it still only has one purpose, whereas with the ultra-wide camera, you could take a picture of a large object.

You could do group pictures so many uses, whereas with a macro camera, the only thing you can do, of course, is just zoom in on small details of an object and unless you're doing photography or something like that, I don't really see that much of a use in it. So these are a couple pictures taken by the regular cameras of these two phones. This one was, of course taken by the Samsung Galaxy a51 and, as you can see, it is a pretty decent picture. I would say the shadows are a little too strong for my taste in the lighting and exposure in general do have some room for improvement. This picture was taken with the iPhone, as you can see here, a big difference, the shadows and exposure, and the lighting and really everything with the iPhone are all much higher quality than they are in the picture taken by the Samsung Galaxy a51.

I do think the iPhone handles lighting a lot better and if you look really closely the colors and the image in general are a lot sharper. That being said, the Samsung Galaxy a51s picture. It really isn't bad. If you're not comparing it to the iPhone, then it really doesn't. Look all that bad.

I still do think it's a decent usable picture, if you're using your camera just for casual purposes or even if you're doing something on social media or something like that, it's really not going to be a bad camera, but if you're using your phone for more professional purposes, something beyond social media, something like a website and stuff like that, I definitely would say the iPhone does have a pretty big advantage there. Now these pictures were taken by the ultra-wide cameras of the two phones. I tried to get the exact same angle for comparison purposes, but, as you can see it's a little off, I think they are about the same as far as wideness goes and again, the main difference between the two is the lighting. Both of them have great quality, especially for an ultra-wide camera and the Samsung Galaxy a51 really did impress me, because I was not expecting it to be this good a lot of the time in these mid-range phones. The ultra-wide camera has a little of distortion.

The edges are warped, and it's a little blurry usually, but this one came out really crisp. The only complaint I have about it at all again is the lighting just because I think the lighting could be better. It is a little dark in some areas that I don't think it should be, and then the light parts are really light, whereas with the iPhone, the lighting is really balanced. You don't get those big shadows anywhere and the colors are a lot more defined, and they look more normal to me. That being said again, the same principle, if you're using the phone for serious professional purposes where every picture has to be really on point, then I would say the iPhone does have an advantage if you're doing something like a website, whatever the case may be, but if you're just taking pictures for fun or using your camera, mostly for social media or something like that, that's not as serious as I would say the Samsung Galaxy a51 does do the job very well.

Now these pictures were taken by the front-facing cameras of the two phones. I think the Samsung Galaxy a51 looks great if you're looking at it again by itself. The lighting is pretty nice in this one. The image is really sharp. The colors are well-balanced, but then compared to the iPhone 12, the iPhone 12 is a lot more detailed and the lighting is just better.

The picture looks a lot more normal, there's, no type of glare or exaggerated, highlights, or anything like that anywhere in the picture taken by the iPhone. Whereas when compared to the iPhone picture, you can see on the Samsung Galaxy a51 picture, the highlights are a little bright in comparison and the general image itself is a lot brighter when it doesn't really need to be so again. The same principle applies if you're, just using your phone for casual purposes, even if you are using it for more serious business purposes, there's really no reason you wouldn't be able to use the Samsung Galaxy a51, it's just a matter of. If you want your photo quality to be the absolute best, then the iPhone is going to have the advantage there. Now.

As far as video mode goes, the Samsung Galaxy a51 is able to shoot in 4k in both the front and the rear cameras and the iPhone 12 is able to shoot in 4k and front and rear cameras as well, so they're pretty much the same. In that regard, the only difference is really going to be the same difference we saw with the cameras really. If you want the best quality, then the iPhone is going to have the advantage, but that doesn't mean that the Samsung Galaxy a51 won't get the job done too. Now, internally, the Samsung Galaxy a51 is getting four gigabytes of ram with the Samsung Enos 9611 processors. We ran a geek bench 5 benchmark test on this phone, and it came back with a single core score of 348 in a multi-core score of 12 19.

The iPhone 12 is also getting 4 gigabytes of ram with the apple 814 bionic processors. We ran the geek bench 5 benchmark test on this phone as well, and it came back with a single core score of 1591 in a multi-core score of 4089. So you can see there's a huge difference here. The single core score of the iPhone 12 is actually higher than the multi-core score of the Samsung Galaxy a51. So there's going to be a big difference in processing power.

Here, if you're doing casual things like browsing the web, doing social media just basic phone functions, then the Samsung Galaxy a51 is gonna, be completely fine. If you're doing more intense things like photo and video editing and gaming, and that sort of thing then on one hand, the Samsung Galaxy a51 is most likely going to be able to run a lot of those things, but also have a little of trouble. The more intense your activities get, whereas the iPhone is probably not going to have trouble with anything at all. This phone has the processing power to do almost anything. It's really designed to run the most demanding apps on the market.

So if you're doing some intense gaming or if you're doing video, editing or anything like that, then the iPhone is going to have a huge advantage over the Samsung Galaxy a51. Now, there's also a huge difference in battery, so the Samsung Galaxy a51 has a 4 000 William hour battery and the iPhone 12 has a 2815 William hour battery. So you can tell there's a huge difference on one hand with a 4 000 William hour battery, the Samsung Galaxy a51 doesn't have the biggest battery in the world, but it's definitely a pretty big battery, and it's going to give you a lot of longevity, not only per charge, but also as the battery degrades you're, not going to notice it as much, whereas with the iPhone 12 the other day. I did some videos with one of the cheapest track: phones, I've ever seen, and that phone had a bigger battery than this iPhone, and I thought that battery was small until I started doing iPhone videos long story short, the iPhone has a very small battery. So when compared to the Samsung Galaxy a51 that has a decently large battery, it's definitely going to be at a disadvantage.

Here. The Samsung Galaxy a51 is gonna. Give you a lot more longevity and a lot more power out of the battery now, in conclusion, which one of these devices is better, I would say that for most practical applications, the iPhone is going to have almost every advantage over the Samsung Galaxy a51. The main advantages of the Samsung Galaxy a51 are the storage space, the fact that it has a fingerprint scanner and the battery everything else is gonna, go to the iPhone. The iPhone has a much faster processor, a much better camera and a higher quality display.

So if you're using your phone for serious professional purposes- and you want to get the best quality out of it as you can, then I would say the iPhone would have the advantage. But if you're not, then you really do need to think about what you actually need out of your phone. If you're on the go a lot and can't plug your phone in all the time, then the battery life is really going to come into consideration here. The Samsung Galaxy a51 is gonna. Give you a lot more life than the iPhone and, if you're constantly using your phone, then that is gonna really matter.

The other thing is: do you really need a camera and a processor? That's that high quality. If you're not gonna, really use it, then I definitely don't think it's worth it, because the iPhone is much more expensive than the Samsung Galaxy a51. So, at the end of the day, if you're not really doing anything beyond, maybe a couple social media posts at best, then the Samsung Galaxy a51 is most likely going to fit your needs better and if you're not doing any video editing or photo editing or gaming. Anything like that. Then again, the Samsung Galaxy a51 is most likely going to be more than enough fun for you and you don't need to spend almost quadruple the price on the iPhone 12.

, but I hope you guys enjoyed the video remember for more information on the pricing and availability of these phones definitely check the links in the description.
