What's happening everyone, my name is Alex and welcome back to a new camera comparison video. So today, I have the very affordable, pixel three AXL. This is a phone that you can buy for around four hundred and fifty dollars, and this is the latest home from Google, and then we have the pixel three XL. This is the phone that you can get for about nine hundred dollars, so double the price now what's interesting is the fact that both devices have the exact same camera on the back, so both devices should take very, very similar, looking pictures and that's the reason why I wanted to do a camera comparison, because I was curious to see if they actually take the exact same pictures so throw this video we're gonna check out some daytime pictures, and I've also included some portrait mode pictures. Then we're going to see some nighttime pictures, then we'll see some sample videos and all the way at the end, some selfies and just before we start can you help me out by pressing that, like button and maybe following me on Twitter and Instagram, and I'll- leave some links in the video's description all right, so you should start with some daytime pictures. Alright, so I took a bunch of daytime pictures and also some portrait mode pictures.
The only difference for portrait mode pictures of is the fact that the pixel 3xl on whom the pixel 3xl you get a two x crop where the pixel 3xl you get a 1.5 x crops, so I had to move closer to the subject to the pixel 3xl, so I can take similarly sized pictures other than that I didn't really see any difference. The edge detection looks the same. The colors are the same and the pictures look very, very similar. The same goes for regular pictures taken on auto mode, so everything is the same from the dynamic range to colors end up to picture detail, so you can zoom in on those pictures, and they all look the same. So yes, these two phones take pretty much identical pictures, even though I'm one of them is twice the price, so I'll, let you guys watch a few more pictures, and I'll come back right after so as you've seen for yourself, the daytime pictures look pretty much identical and the same kind of goes for nighttime pictures.
Now, when you take nighttime pictures, and you use the night sight more than I did notice that I'm taking pictures to the Pixel 3a Excel takes a couple of seconds longer. So you have to keep your hands steady in a longer and longer period of time the pixel 3 Excel can can take. Those pictures are a bit faster, but the results do look the same, and I'm gonna. Let you guys watch a few more pictures, so you can see how they look, and we are moving on to video recordings all four video recordings. Both devices can do for here, 30 frames per second, and they both have image stabilization for 4k at 30 frames per second, the video quality looks the same.
The stabilization looks the same, but the sound recordings from the pixel 3xl do sound a bit better. In my opinion and I guess I'll, let you guys watch a couple of the recording, so you can see for yourselves between the pixel 3xl and the Pixel 3a XL, so one phone is about 900 dollars and the other recording in 4k 30 frames per second and, of course, at this resolution, both devices have. It is also a bit windy. Some of these conditions- this is our recording from these two devices, would look like, so I'm gonna pan left for a bit, and I'm gonna pan right now. Just so, you can see how the device is performing for something like this.
So this is how recording from these two devices looks like all right. We have another quick video test between the Pixel 3a XL and the pixel 3 XL. As you can probably see, it is night this time around, and I am on also walking I'm recording in 4k at 30 frames per second, because the DS resolution, both devices'm, have image stabilization. So under these conditions, are basically walking and talking behind the 2 devices. This saw recording from their mom would look like I'm gonna, pan left, and I'm going to write again and just behind here so yeah.
This is how recording from these two devices would look like in low-light and lastly, we are going to check out some selfies well for selfies I, find that some pictures taken by the 3 a. m. Excel did look better, and some pictures taken by the three XL did look a bit better, but I guess it had to do the wires holding up holding my hand whenever I was taking those pictures and how I was moving and so on, so I'm going to say that they are very, very similar for selfies as well and, of course, the pictures that you've just seen or taken by these two devices so yeah. The selfies are also very, very similar so to quickly conclude this video. If you want the cheapest phone, that has the best camera well, the Pixel 3a and the pixel 3 XL are the way to go because these two devices, even though this one is twice the price, take identical, identical pictures.
Alright, guys, hopefully enjoyed this video. If you did like you, don't forget to press that like button, don't forget, subscribe, and I'll. See you the next time, thanks for watching.
