Pixel 3a vs Pixel 3 Speed Test | Can The Pixel 3a Compete?

Hey guys, what's going on I'm Yasmin, and this right here is the Pixel 3a, and I've been using it I'm about to wrap up my actual review, and we'll be out in a few days, I kept on getting asked about how it is using the versus the pixel 3 in terms of just the day to day to use, so I thought I might put together a quick speed test between the pixel and the Pixel 3a. So you guys already know the story behind this. These two phones, if you don't, this is an $800 phone, and this one right here is a $400 phone budget phone. So I'm not going to be testing out games or video editing on these phones or editing, audio files, or anything like that. I'm just going to be testing what it would feel like to be the average person using things like Instagram Twitter, pulling up the Play Store YouTube. You know things like that.

So I want to jump in real quick, put these phones side-by-side and see exactly which one is going to be faster or which one is going to be performing a little faster. This one right here is the higher-end one, and this one right here is the budget one. So, let's clear everything out clear everything out on this side and also clear everything out over here: okay, so on the home screen, we have these apps that I use mainly, and then these are the other apps that I use all right, so we're going to jump right in, and we are gonna start with the dialer so on three two one, the pixel 3 loaded, it faster and I. Don't know if you guys can tell on video, but it seems like there is a color temperature difference between the two. This one feels a little cooler.

The pixel 3/8 feels a little warmer, but I'm going to get into that and a lot more stuff in the full review. So if you're interested in that, like I said a couple of days should be out make sure you subscribe to the channel. So let's jump back in messenger once again, this one pulled it up a little faster. What so now this is my daily phone, so this is going to have my feet, but this one is gonna. Try to ask me to log in three two one pixel three, and this is flamingo.

This is an app that I use for Twitter. So here we go three, two one: okay, so this one loaded up a little faster and this one it's because I'm already logged in because I'm using this phone as my daily phone. So that's why it's not logged in, but so far for apps 4.4, the pixel 3 is loading faster. Let's go to Instagram three two one yep just a little ahead on the pixel three, as you can see, I got the same feed on both of them so and they both scroll real, fast, real, smooth, and they're both connected to the same Wi-Fi front in the same location. So that's there.

Now, let's swipe over, let's go into the Play Store and three two one once again loaded up on the pixel, and then we'll go into maps three two one: oh, that one actually loaded up maps, much faster on the Pixel 3a. So that's pretty cool! Now, let's load up YouTube on three two one: okay, YouTube loaded up on the pixel three first and they both seem to be scrolling. Pretty good, no issues here so up. Next, we are going to load up the Amazon app, that's one that I use all the time. So three, two one, oh this was close.

That was a real close one. I'm going to have to say that's pretty much at I may be a millisecond on the pixel three, but I think it's a tie. So now let's relaunch some of the apps that are running all the way in the back, just to see how things are running, so we're going to load up the dialer once again, so you go three two one Oh loaded up on the Pixel 3a, that's interesting! So go all the way back and let's load up messages. Three two one man is it just me or is the pixel 3/8 pulling these up real, quick and let's go back to things like Twitter and in stand? Flamingos Instagram! So let's go to Instagram right here and see how fast these load up in three two one yeah I, don't know what it is. So this refreshed this didn't I had to pull it down to refresh it.

So maybe that's what the pixel 3 is doing. It's just pulling up the app as it was when it put it into RAM management. So that's that's interesting. Let's load up just a couple of more apps to see exactly what's happening, let's go to the Play Store here and then on the Play Store, we're going to load this back up on three two one: okay, so yeah once again different feeds here so, like I said, maybe the pixel three is updating the feed and that's what's happening, but these are the apps that are used mainly every single day. There's a bunch of other apps in my app drawer that I have, but most of my day, I am using these right here on my screen and then on the right hand, side I'm, using these I, also use Chase for banking.

So let me see actually one final test to see which one loads up fast in those two in three two one they're taking their time, but the pixel three, the pixel three seems to have loaded up so I. Don't know I, guess looking at it right now. The pixel three seems to be faster and I. Think that's because it's got the faster processor because they both have the same RAM, but the pixel three just has the faster processor. But there was a couple of times when the pixel 3/8 noted some apps that were sitting in the recent tasks or recent apps, and it loaded up a little faster, and we just realized that it's because it probably wasn't uploading refreshing, probably wasn't refreshing anyway, like I, said: I am finishing up the review for my Pixel 3a and if you're watching this sometime in the future, I'll put it down below in the description, probably be the first link.

I hope you guys enjoyed the video if you did give it a thumbs up, which was your first time to my channel, then definitely consider subscribing I'll catch. You guys in the next one until then stay plugged.
