TCL 10 5G UW Full Review - 30 days later

Hey, what's going on everybody Caltech here and welcome to my full review of the TCL 10 5g UW for Verizon. Now I've been using this device for the past four weeks. I'm ready to share with you my experience now. Full disclosure TCL did send this device out to me for review. But of course all opinions express are of my own and TCL is watching this at exactly the same time as you. So let's go ahead and talk about price real, quick now with the TCL 105g UW, full retail price is 399.

You know making this a very, very affordable, 5g device. Now I know some of you probably took advantage of the Black Friday deal that was going on through Cyber Monday on Verizon, where you picked this up for five dollars a month for the 24-month installments. Now that is a great deal if you picked it up for that, affordable price uh. Definitely pat yourself on the back, because you got some great savings, and it's well, well worth that price of only a hundred and twenty dollars. You would have got it for on Black Friday through Cyber Monday.

So definitely a great deal right there. Let's go ahead and talk about design and build here, because I am a huge fan of this design. I believe TCL really knocked it out of the park here. You got this diamond gray color, and this is like a diamond cut glass design very premium. I just love the way.

The light reflects off the back. I really, really like this. I mean I have a case for this device, but I've been using it without a case just because I just love the way this device looks. It feels good in the hand it has some nice weight to it. Yes, it will pick up some fingerprints and smudges just keep that in mind, but that is you know typical with a lot of smartphones, but the design and build is really solid.

TCL did an excellent job. Now, let's go ahead and move on and talk about that headphone jack. You got a headphone jack on board, and that is something that is a feature I appreciate so much. I'm so glad. TCL is sticking with the headphone jack, and they're, not just following the trend and just ditching it, and it's actually a decent sounding headphone jack.

It can produce some nice audio. I just love the fact that you have a headphone jack, thank you TCL and moving on to the display now, so you're going to get a 6.53-inch full HD plus display. Now this can be a 1080 by 2340 resolution panel. Now keep in mind. There are like a thousand dollar smartphones out there with the 1080p panel, but you are gonna, get a really nice 1080p panel.

Here it's on the higher spectrum I would say of when it comes to. You know: color clarity and contrast. Really nice and you know, TCL- is known for making their televisions and producing some really nice displays you're going to get that here as well. You're also going to get the HDR video playback. So if you're watching YouTube videos Netflix, you can take advantage of watching HDR.

You also have the next vision display on this. I mean you got a lot going on with this display. It's a really nice panel here, 441 pixels per inch, get a nice screen to body ratio that small little punch hole front facing camera cut out to the corner, which I think that's definitely the way to go. When it comes to you know a camera cut out. I like it off to the corner there, not in the center, and this looks much better than like the iPhones with that huge notch up on top now, moving on, let's go and talk about the security feature you have here, which is the fingerprint sensor.

I really like this fingerprint sensor. It works 100 of the time in a day and age, where we wear masks all day long, it's so nice not having to rely on facial recognition or a pattern pin and password, and you can use that if you'd like to, but the fingerprint sensor to the back is so useful, and it's very accurate, and it's a great security feature you have and moving on to 4g LTE connectivity as well as 5g 4g LTE connectivity has been great. I've traveled all over California using this device, and I always had signal with Verizon wireless now when it comes to the 5g it's kind of hit or miss depending on where you live, you might be in a 5g, you know area for me. I don't live in a 5g area, but I did travel outside into 5g, and I got some really nice upload and download speeds as well. So 5g is going to vary based on where you live and moving on to making phone calls on the tcl105guw.

A phone call sounded nice and clear callers at the other end said they heard me perfectly fine, and I never experienced any type of drop calls while using this device. For the past month now, moving on to keyboard sensitivity, sending out text messages, emails, everything just sent out perfectly fine. You got nice keyboard sensitivity on this and this is running g board. So the keyboard is fully customizable got a lot of good features, packed into this and moving on to performance. Now so under the hood, you are going to get the Qualcomm snapdragon 765 g, that is the outscore processor you're.

Also going to get six gigabytes of ram now, in my experience, this device has been very reliable. For me, I mean pretty much any app. I download off the Google Play Store, it runs it perfectly. Fine apps haven't crashed on me and I haven't experienced any type of overheating issues on this device. I use split screen multitasking a lot and there are no issues there whatsoever.

I can run two apps side by side perfectly. Fine. Furthermore, I've been using this device a lot with GPS, because my job, I use GPS a lot and GPS works perfect, I'm able to get to my destination, it doesn't lose my location and, if you're interested in gameplay on this device, you can definitely game on the TCL 105 gun, whether you're playing games like asphalt, 9, you know PUBG Call of Duty. All those games are going to run perfectly fine on this device. So with the 765g six gigs of ram.

It's a solid combination. You have here, and you get, that nice panel moving on to storage now, so you're going to get 128 gigabytes of internal storage, which that is a good amount of storage. That's definitely more than enough for me, but you also get SD card expansion up to 256 gigabytes. If you need to for the box, you are going to be getting android 10 and this device is scheduled to get that next version of android as well. So once that arrives I'll, definitely make a video on that.

You also got super Bluetooth on boards. You can go ahead and connect multiple Bluetooth devices to this Wi-Fi connectivity has been working solid, so you know it seems, like you got a nice solid package under the hood of this device and moving on to the cameras now, so it's like I mentioned earlier, you get that nice hole punch, cutout for the 16 megapixel front facing camera. In my experience, it's a really nice camera. It can produce some nice photos. As you can see, this is just a photo.

I just took at my desk right here and everything does look really nice portrait mode on boards to get that nice blur effect. So I really like the front-facing camera and moving on to the rear facing cameras. You got the triple camera setup to the back. The dual led flash. Now the main camera is going to be a 48 megapixel camera which does use AI software for scene detection, you're also going to get that 5 megapixel macro camera you're also going to get an 8, megapixel wide angle, camera that can basically capture 118 degrees field of view, and I was very, very pleased with the images that were captured with the TCL 105g UW has some nice image processing and I just love all the different modes that you have to choose from like a portrait mode, a super night mode and the super wide angle mode is one of my favorites, because I just love how much more you can capture into the photo.

You don't have to step back and step back and step back to capture everything. Whether I was in a lowland scenario or I was outdoors. All the images came out. Looking really nice, I even went out on a trip to Joshua tree, and I took this as my main device, and you know I captured a lot of really nice photos there, even when the sun was setting with that super night mode. Now, when it comes to recording videos, you can record it at 4k, 30 frames per second 1080p 60 frames per second and the video recording looks decent.

It's not going to be as good as 70 pixel devices, but it's definitely decent and the microphones work really well, and you have image stabilization. I will say in low light, when you are video, recording things can get grainy, but when you are taking photos in low light, things can look very nice, as you can see there moving on. Let's go ahead and talk about audio and battery life. Now, with the audio on this device, you are going to get a single down firing speaker. I really wish this would have had dual firing speakers.

It would have made the sound much more better. I mean if the earpiece was a speaker, and then you had that single down firing speaker, but you just get that single firing speaker so again, I prefer dual firing speakers, but audio is decent. Now when it comes to the uh battery on this 4 500 William hour battery, and it's an it's an excellent battery, you got on this. This device can get me through an entire day. I never have to worry about this battery dying on me.

I can get through an entire day. It has nice fast charging. It has OTG reverse charging type c charging. On this I mean you got a good, solid battery, I mean, depending on your usage, you might even get a day and a half to two days just depends on how you use your smartphone, but I was very happy very pleased with the battery life on this device. Well, that's pretty much it.

That is my full review of the TCL 105 gun for Verizon wireless.
