OnePlus 8T unboxing and hands-on!

So inside this box is the OnePlus 8t, but let's first get it unboxed and give you some very brief. First impressions, thanks for watching 95 google here on YouTube, remember to thumbs up, hit, subscribe and then tap the bell icon to be among the first to watch our upcoming videos. Of course, this is the OnePlus 8t media kit, which isn't a true representation of what you'll be getting after pre-ordering, but inside. This is the lunar silver version, which is a nice alternative to the ultra marine green, which I think is likely the preferable option for many of you out there watching so inside the retail box there's a case and that impressive 65 watt charge brick you've seen plenty of this device already through leaks and OnePlus themselves. But let's talk about the main event, though, here getting straight to the point, the OnePlus 8t is effectively an upgrade over the slightly unexciting standard, OnePlus 8. There are some notable upgrades, but this is a remix rather than an outright overhaul.

Let's quickly talk internals, so you probably knew at this stage that you're getting the Qualcomm snapdragon 865. No, not the plus version. The standard 865 5g chip between 8 and 12, gigabytes of ram, 128 or 256 gigabytes of UFS, 3.1 storage, a 6.65 inch, 120 hertz, full HD plus AMOLED panel, and a million power battery that can be topped up at 65 watt charge speeds in isolation. That is one heck of a spec sheet. But for some reason, because the OnePlus 8 pro exists at this stage, it's already feeling a little underwhelming, even more so when you factor in the Samsung inspired design at this point in time, OnePlus of course knows how to craft a gorgeous device, and the OnePlus 8t retains the DNA of previous models but manages to put a slight spin on it.

It feels like a step into a new future for the firm, but we're not sure that hardcore fans will really dig it from the outset. The display, luckily, is flat this time and 120 hertz is arguably one of the biggest draws here for owners of previous OnePlus t series handsets the in-display fingerprint reader is also still really fast and accurate, plus that scrolling experience is still top tier. Thanks to that higher refresh rate, the enhanced haptics that we'll first introduce on the OnePlus 8 pro also make an appearance for feedback that is about as good as it gets on. Android save the Google Pixel series oxygen, OS 11.0 also comes pre-installed, and we'll be delving further into that over the coming days. But while it offers a big UI overhaul, it's actually a reasonably pleasant experience, albeit less stock than many fans will be hoping for the camera setup utilizes.

The new 48 megapixel Sony mix 586 sensors, which does mean, as you can see, from our samples, slightly sharper images which look good so far all focal lengths. But, of course we will delve into these further in the coming days in our full review, including all the video modes added here. At this stage, it feels like the OnePlus 8t addresses a few of the core complaints leveled at the standard, OnePlus 8, which is a good thing, as it did have solid hardware, and it offers some notable improvements in other areas, including the software experience, albeit a bit of a colored new software experience. Of course, this is by no means a definitive retrospective of the OnePlus 8t. It's just some early hands-on impressions as we get to another device, but so far it does seem like a pretty solid upgrade, especially if you're coming from an older OnePlus device.

That said, we will have a full review in the coming days. So do stay tuned for that and, of course, if you have any questions about the OnePlus 8t, then slap them down in the comment section below, and we'll do our utmost to answer as many as possible. But as always, this is Damien with 95 google saying thanks for watching, and I'll catch you later you.
