What is up guys welcome to the big unbox, where we do that small tech, and today I am back with another big unboxing for you, and today we got the all new OnePlus 8 to the t2 unbox, do a quick overview. As always, you know I'll throw up the link in the video description. If you want to check it out, pricing is going to be 749 across the board. I think you can actually get this unlocked on Amazon as well, so I'll throw up that link as well. If you guys want to check it out two different colors, you got lunar silver, and then you got this green um. Let's see aquamarine green someone with the silver, because you guys know I like dark colors, like you know, just basically neutrals.
I think they go cases more all that stuff. So with that version of it a lot of unboxing already for this one I had to pay for mine, like you guys so shout out to everybody, follow me on the channel. I pay for this stuff, like you guys do so. When I get it, I try to get you guys and get the unboxing as quick as possible. I don't get the review units, yet we're not that big yet, but hopefully, eventually one day we'll get there and shout out to OnePlus they.
Actually they do provide a free product with this one for the pre-order, and it didn't say what it was now it looks like this is actually going to be an um yeah. It's going to be like a bottle like a wall like an actual bottle, so it says 99 values, we'll unbox, that first before we get to the OnePlus 8 to the t, just because it came with the actual presentations. This is one of those uh. Oh, it looks like this area really nicely builds check this out. Look at that! That's actually really, really cool.
Look at that! That's something that you can take with you to work um on the go stainless steel, one plus big logo. Looking clean, it's got some nice weight to it. Just it looks like a nice actual water bottle. So throw up your liquids up in there, whatever you're doing, and you can see look at that. So that's a nice little addition, I would have preferred maybe some headphones, something like that.
Some wireless, you know headphones, but they didn't tell you what you're getting with the pre-order. So this is, you know, I know, maybe something different. Maybe you guys got the uh headphones. I don't know exactly what they're all throwing in with the presentation, but I do appreciate that I'll, probably rock with that with me to work. You know it's kind of different when you got the OnePlus brand.
I don't know about you guys. You know everybody's got the iPhones. Everybody got a Samsung one. Sometimes when you walk in there, and you got the OnePlus product, you kind of feel a little different and I like that. I like being a little different, not having the same phone as everybody else, but let's go check it out.749 price points. Now this is the tough question um, whether this phone I'll get to this a little later on the unboxing, whether this phone actually has a place in the market for the OnePlus, just because they've already released the 8 and then the 8 pro, which are really, really good devices.
Where does this fall into place with those two uh snapdragon 865, so you're not getting any upgrades there, uh camera setup's a little different, but it's really just the camera setup actually you're, just getting the same camera setup, but just on a different side of the actual device itself, so 80 the red, beautiful presentation, OnePlus 8 to the t and that's pretty much it OnePlus? Does it really, really well with the nice presentation it's right up? Actually, I would say it's definitely better than Samsung. It's definitely right up there with apple Microsoft has some good stuff who else um. Let's see, I wouldn't say Samsung's, not that it's okay presentation, but not that great, so OnePlus is really up there. So I appreciate their presentation, especially since I'm an unboxed for a YouTube channel. You know what I'm saying guys.
Let's go and do this, it all comes with the 256 version. Uh, let's go over some specs real quick. You got the 12 gigs of ram, which is absolutely a big boy status right there. So very nice, that's some big boy status with some extra storage with the 256 and then plus the extra ram there, nice suction. Yes, it suctions tough to get this one out there.
We go still got another eight to the t right there. So actually you get the satisfying you get. This really satisfying feel when you purchase the device.749 is the price point? That's all it is. I said all it is. That's that's going to be another question: where does this fall in the marketplace? Not just one plus but overall marketplace, because there's a lot of better mid-range phones out there right now, never settle.
We got some stickers, never settled, never settle, that's pretty much it so lots of good stuff there. I love how a flossy carter you! That's! That's! That's the that's the beast right! There floss card is the best in the game, but he always said he calls these troll stickers. I laugh so hard when he says that troll stickers, alright see what else we got see. Put the phone we'll take this out real quick put that to the side, and they do it right. This is the little fine details.
Look at the red got the red box that just kind of trademark here, white red, just looks very, very clean. I like what they do with the presentation from OnePlus. Now this brick now one thing, I'm disappointed no case. Give me a here's. Here's another gripe.
I got a little gripe here, so this k this phone is available for pre-order guys I ordered it. The other day got it quickly paid the extra shipping all the good stuff, but none of the official cases were available to pre-order, as of today, they're still on coming soon, are you telling me that this phone's been released for pre-order, and you can't give me some cases for it as well? Terribly disappointing. That's really a flaw from OnePlus on a side note I got the otter box case did the next day shipping on that bad boy, so we got that coming tomorrow, so we do have some protection coming from it, but OnePlus throw a case in there for me, especially if you're not going to have any cases on release terrible now this charging brick. This is that fast charge. Now look at the size of this thick brick.
That is a beat. That is like a laptop fast charging brick, and this is going to give you some fast charge. They have the fastest charge in the game. Hands down, beats Samsung beats anybody looking at apple's, not even close with that. That's just completely uh.
This is on another league. There may be some other out there, but this one fast charge is legit. Now this gray, hopefully, is going to be legit, let's go and check it out. I did get the OnePlus 8 in gray from Verizon, and I like that color as well. It wasn't available for anybody else.
So it's going to take this little sticker off. It looks to be kind of close to that actual polar gray or whatever it's called yeah. Look at that. That's what I'm talking about it's a blue gray, matte, finish beautiful glass back one plus logo popping through look at this think shine guys. That is a beautiful looking phone.
I love a. I love a color like this blends in for all cases, so you don't worry about getting a case, and you're like wow. Furthermore, I got this crazy, aurora glow phone, but it doesn't match any cases. This is going to match all cases. It just looks beautiful one plus logo popping through one plus very at the very bottom.
Now this is what I was talking about with the camera setup. Now I had I'd like you guys in order to get these phones, I have to sell them to get the new one. So I sold my OnePlus 8 OnePlus 8 pro OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 pro they got. The camera set up right here right in the middle, where I'm kind of just I'm not sure why they did it. I think it was to compete with.
Like you know, Samsung's just showed it's the same thing. This is the s 20, plus same exact kind of camera setup. So, instead of the middle, they just moved it to the very edge. I don't think there's much camera difference in terms of the 8 and then the 8t. So that's a kind of question: why would you want to upgrade from the 8 to the 8t or if you do got the pro? Why would you want to do that? I think I would definitely pass on that.
But this is a nice looking screen. You can see its flat screens, you're not going to have to deal with uh. The curved edges, like the pro and that'll, be easier for screen protectors as well. One thing that they did do guys is give you a pre-installed screen protector on here. It may not be that durable, but you can kind of see around the actual camera area.
That's actually around the edges right there that's going to be some just a basic screen protection. I appreciate that until I get an actual glass screen protector, I don't have to worry about going out with this phone and drop. I mean if you drop you're still going to be ass out, but I don't have to worry about just basic scratches on it. When I take it out now give me a case. That's a different story.
Let's turn it on real quick, because I got no cases for this, so I can't rock this tomorrow, I'm not going to go to work raw dogging this phone without a case this is still 750 bucks. That's you know I do I'll do a pretty good make a pretty good living outside the channel, but I'm still not going to even raw dog, this bad, but I would never raw a ROG a phone, no raw dog. Let's turn it on real quick show you the screen, so you can see right there. That's your camera, not too bad! I, like, I think I, like the actual camera setup, a little better on the galaxy right in the middle, just a very clean, where it's not quite, as I think, that's kind of more noticeable on the side. Just from my viewing angles you can see, you do got some bells bezel around the edges right there not too bad, though I like the flat screen, I'm a big proponent of flat screens.
You do get a little of border a little of black around the flat on the actual curved screen or instead of the cursor. You get the flat border, but you do get that black edges around the actual border right there. So I don't have a problem with that at all. You get enough screen real estate. You do get the 120 refresh rate.
I don't know about you guys, anytime, you're, throwing if you've ever come from a different phone, the 120 it just you can't go back to it. If you go back from, if you go from 120 backwards, or just even to like an iPhone it just SLO, it seems slow. The 120 refresh where it's just awesome- I don't know about you guys if you've ever had that uh you got the volume up and down right there, and then you can see. The trim has got that nice trim right. There got your sim ejector power, speaker grille, just a small speaker right there, nothing really to talk about power button and then the trusty alert slider, which I prefer I'm glad they keep that on there and then again I was talking about the camera setup, a little camera hump.
Nothing crazy should be good to go with an actual nice case, but it does have a nice camera as well. The question here is guys: it's a beautiful device. This is an awesome looking device. The question is: is it worth an upgrade from the 8 to the 18 or 8 pro I'd, say no, there's really spec wise. There's really, no reason to give you to jump to this.
One price is, you know it's decent, it's 750, but what I do got to say is Samsung came out with this for 6.99 and if you can get it, you still cop it for about 5.99 to me, you're, getting basically the same specs, probably a little better camera. I haven't judged this one yet, but Samsung typically has a better, better camera. Look at the difference, really, it's kind of close in terms of build quality. You do get the better build quality with this with the glass back. This is kind of got a plastic EEC.
But honestly, I can't even tell the difference superfast phone and I think this might be a sleeper hit of the year for 5.99. So I think it's weird when you say Samsung undercut OnePlus for that, and then you also got the new pixel and spec wise. It's definitely a mid-range mid to upper range specs, but this is going to take the pixel out with the specs. The pixel, though, is going to win for the camera all day. The pixel is going to be this one, this one spec wise.
So the question is: is this worth an upgrade? I can't say for that 750 price point unless you really didn't get the eight line up at all, if you got is you, if you're just coming from the seven, and you just want to get the 80 definitely, this is probably going to be a bad boy phone, but it's missing out some key elements. Wireless charging to me is a big key. They could have thrown that on there for 750 bucks, so that's kind of a tough sell. I think this isn't a tough is its kind of in a tough position to move a lot of units. Let me know what your thoughts on this one in the comment section, we will get to some cases when they're released.
I do get the otter box coming. Let me know if you guys have any suggestions, throw it up in the comment section we'll get to as many as possible hit the subscribe button. I'll see you guys next time you.
