OnePlus 8 Pro Day 2 - Battery Drain & Charge, PUBG and more!

Hi guys its Frankie from Frankie Tech good to see you guys again, and I'm here on day, two of my time with the 1+8 Pro, which is turning out to be a serious contender for best phone of the year so far of 2020 from the gorgeous Glacial green design to the just incredible display, HD 120, Hertz, really great audio and pretty solid camera performance. So far, I'm loving this version of the phone that this is the China version of the phone and actually been pretty upset with the pricing that OnePlus has done for the international or global versions. So if you want to pick up this China version check out the links in the description which I've tweaked, as you can see here, to be pretty much the same phone as the one you're getting in the States. But today's video is gonna, be about two things and two things alone: battery life and pop G mobile, so I'm going to share my battery drain results from yesterday charge test results, and then we'll jump into some pop G gameplay here on the OnePlus 8 pro. So, let's have a look, but before we get into that guys, I got a number of comments yesterday, mentioning that the display looked a little pink or a little kind of warm in the previous video. That's because I was using, as you can see, your comfort tone and what that is, it's equivalent of Apple's, true tone, and it warms this screen up considerably to adjust to the ambient light to make display a bit more comfortable in different environments.

Now I really like this feature, and I was using it all yesterday, but I can understand why some of you felt it did not film exactly very well, and so I'll turn it off for filming purposes. But I do consider this a great new addition, and it's great to see that OnePlus has included this true tone kind of equivalent on their phones. Now, looking at the battery results, I did ? progress reports yesterday, this first one was at around 5:40 p. m. and I took this phone off the charger at around 10:30 11:00 a.

m. so we had a 49% battery at that point, and I've done a bit of YouTube and let my daughter and my nephew-in-law play a bunch of random games on this did some benchmarks and at that point it was doing pretty well for hours and 40 minutes of screen on time. But the really incredible results came at the end of the day. As you can see at around 11:15 p. m.4% battery remaining I played some pub key about an hour and a half of pub G hour and a half of YouTube one hour of Netflix an hour of Twitter and a bunch of other stuff and guys we hit 8 hours and 50 minutes of screen on time at HD, 120 Hertz, refresh rate settings on this one plus a pro to say that I was impressed by these results is an understatement. These were stunning results for this phone on the first day of use and I.

Just can't believe it because normally batteries aren't so good at first, and they tend to get better. So at this point, I'm going to be using the phone at HD 120 Hertz, because these results have been so promising and in terms of battery drain, this 1+8 pro is looking like a legit contender for one of the best battery life's I've used on a phone this year, but draining the battery is only one part of the story. What about the charging experience? Well, good news guys! I actually did a charge test of this one plus eight pro this morning, so Frankie tech. Let's have a look at the results, thanks, Frankie Tech and so with a final result here of 67 minutes one hour and seven minutes this one plus eight Pros did a pretty great job in charging time now, we'll say these aren't the best numbers I've seen on the channel and that will go to the super VOC, 2.0 real me, x2, pros of the world that can charge at that 50 watts. Even the 10 pro is charging faster than this phone at 44 minutes zero to 100.

It's a very good score. Don't get me wrong, but it's just not to the level of some really superfast chargers that we've seen on phones this year and Before. We jump into pop G mobile guys wanted to show you as you notice, possibly from that battery charge test. There was an update ready for this phone, and here is the update log forward. I got improved icon, displaying status bar improved back gesture experience bullets.

Wireless Z can now be integrated with Dolby Atmos double tap to wake feature, but the most important aspects of this update have got to be the updated security patch ?, March 2020 and the camera updates. That should improve the camera experience on this one plus eight Pro even further- and here we are guys ready to do some pop G action here on the OnePlus 8 pro and guys, as I mentioned before, I will be doing a full showdown with the other phones in the future. Really should I mean I should at least include the red-meat K 30 in this portion of the video guys. What do you think should I do it? Ah, what the hell- let's do it here- is the red meat k, 30 pro and as I mentioned before, guys I'm waiting to get my unit of the 10 Pro, and then I can do a full showdown with those three phones up for now. Let's bring in this Katy to join the party and, as you can see, full displays being used on these phones very good to see and hear the settings we'll be using 4 gameplay HDR ultra I've said it to realistic, enabled anti-aliasing and shadows, and I'll disable audio, just graphics, okay, okay and let's get started, and it's time it's time for the classic.

Frank Tech swim test, just keep swimming just keep swimming woah, oh yeah and there's swimming good I told you guys it was coming today, and it did and at the plane jump. How are we doing on these two snapdragon 865 Arena 650 powered phones, buttery, smooth experience here on the OnePlus 8 pro no stutters whatsoever, and the same goes for this red-meat k, 30 pro, which cost half the price of the OnePlus a pro. Let's get down to the surface, get some guns, get some action and getting started here on the OnePlus 8 pro there we go. We got some guns and I got a gun, but it's a revolver. I wish I had something a little more powerful, and I'm going to start getting over to where my teammates are.

Let's jump over to the red meat k, 30 Pro and look at that. We've landed on the roof of this building on the red meat k, 30 Pro, oh they're, shooting at me, and they're shooting at me take that uh man they're killing me on the other phone Boo ya, first kill on the OnePlus 8 pro and I, better jump over to the red meat k, 30 Pro, because I'm getting hit, and I see someone's giving me someone shoots at me: oh yeah, first kill on the red meat k, 30 brows zoom addition on just gotta love. The full bezel is look when you're playing on this phone. Let's see how we're doing on the OnePlus 8 pro and I see someone in the distance and someone just went into this building. Let's see if I can get them when they're coming out.

Oh it's, my teammate, oh gosh, I was worried there for a second, oh, my gosh and my team was just killed by someone in the vicinity. I think my time is coming to an end in this game. Oh god, there we go, and that is the end of my life on this one plus a pro. But let's go into spectator mode. We still have the red meat, K 30 bros, to play on and getting shot out again here.

Take that 5 kills guys on the red meat, K, 30, Pro and apologies I seem to be having some issues in the filming right now it might have cut off while I was playing. If I did miss, some kills. Apologies for that guys, but how are they feeling after around 15 minutes of gameplay? Now the 1 plus, a pro I would not say is cool to the touch. It's definitely a little warmer than I expected and how's the red meat k, 30 pro doing cool to the touch guys. There may be some magic that the R and me K, 30 Pro, is doing with its vapor cooling system.

I know that they have a very large surface area that using for cooling during gaming, but I am actually surprised. The OnePlus 8 pro is significantly warmer than the red-meat K 30 pro now they're, both playing at the same settings as you know, so, is that the cooling system could that be something else here at play, I don't know, but just something to keep in mind, but fluid beautiful gameplay on both of these phones. No doubt you'll have a great experience playing pub G Mobile on the OnePlus 8 Pro and the red-meat K 30 pro, but just keep in mind. This phone is coming at a much lower price point than this new one +8 flagships. So that's it for this video and my final verdict here after two days with this 1+8 pro the battery life has been super impressive.

This design has been super impressive. I am enjoying my time with this phone. We are looking at a serious contender here for the phone of the year and at least the best phone so far of 20/20. Now the one thing I want to address, though that may hold this phone back. Is the pricing because, let's face it, I would have loved this phone even more, if I could have gotten it for the price that I got the China version here in Hong Kong and as we've seen in some other countries, we have just seen the India pricing release, and it is much closer to the China pricing than the Hong Kong pricing, and so there's this weird discrepancy, we're seeing in terms of pricing with OnePlus, depending on where you are you're, either going to be paying a much lower around 750 US Dollars price point for this one, plus a prompt or upwards of nine hundred or even one thousand US dollars.

Guys I would need to pay almost 300 u. s. dollars more to get this version of the phone, the top of the line, 12 GB 256 gigs of storage here officially in Hong Kong, and it just doesn't make any sense. That is the one thing that is possibly holding me back from being able to recommend this phone wholeheartedly, but I'll need to spend more time with this phone to really see if it's worth picking up the version in your market, or are you better off for the first time ever like a lot of the phones, I review on this channel, picking up the China ROM version on the phone and tweaking it to make it a more global experience and so stay tuned guys for my further testing on this one plus a pro I will get more in depth with it and hit me up in the comments. Do you like this one +8 pro or are you concerned about the pricing as it relates to your current location, hit me up in the comments I'd love to hear about it, and that's it for this video? If you liked it give me that thumbs up and if you love the content of ranking tag subscribe to the channel hit the bell icon for future updates.

So that's it, and this is where I leave you by saying this is Frankie tech signing off have a good one.
