TCL 20s VS OnePlus Nord N200 5G

All right guys welcome back to another video shaman, so I have two phones here: the word n200 and the TCL 20s. Now the'm starting right here. You probably think why is j starting right there, I'm starting right here because well! This is the limitations that we're going to point out, uh, where the word n200 is just not better than the tcl20s uh, and these phones are pretty much priced the same. This is what 250, and this is 240 at its peak price. So right now, I'm on this screen here for YouTube, but I'm going to play a video for you. As you can see here, the word can't upscale video like the TCL 20s can- and it's so strange because this is an eight nanometer chip, and this is an 11 animated chipset, but think it would be able to handle these things, but it in fact cannot this one can actually scale all the way up to um the highest resolution.

Recording of the video, so TCL is known for having some of the best displays ever, so we're going to show you here, uh with these next to each other, the words on the top and the TCL's on the bottom I'll turn the volume down, because we're really just kind of looking at the resolutions here, uh and the TCL is just flat out amazing compared to the OnePlus. It just looks so much better. It's incredible in person, you'd really be able to grasp hold of how beautiful this look. The TCL is much brighter, more vivid, more punchy, and it gives a good representation of what these screens could actually do. Now.

If you're, looking at this over video, and you're saying, I really can't tell the difference. Look closely see if you can tell the difference in tones. Look at the tone of my face in this one. Look at the tone of my face in the TCL. So while these both have um 1080p displays, I prefer the TCL better.

I think it looks better. I think the colors are a little more true to life and the tones are a little off on the top uh up here with the OnePlus word. But it's not that the OnePlus word is horrible either it's just that the TCL obviously display greatness. It's going to do it better. So let me zoom out here, and we're going to do is we're gonna um pause this here, I'm going to get out of here, and we want to look at.

Let me turn these displays down, because while they are bright, the OnePlus is needing to boost a little. The TCL does not all right, so these devices here are roughly. This is a good match. They both have the um side mounted fingerprint reader uh. They both have a beautiful big display.

Furthermore, they both have pretty good hardware, actually perfect hardware on the TCL, but we're going to get into a brief comparison of these two devices, and we're going to talk about the differences for how I like them. So I showed you the displays and I like the display better on the TCL tcl20s. Now, let's look at performance here. These both have uh four gigs of ram and, in fact, like I said, the TCL 20s is running a snapdragon 665, even though that's an 11 nanometer chip- and this has the eight nanometer chip, which is a 480 it still doesn't perform as well with day-to-day tasks. So you know just me: opening apps um isn't going to really prove anything.

I guess um, but if I'm just. This is the only way I can kind of get it into your head of how much more fluid the TCL is at things and how much more speedy it is um. It just feels better uh the OnePlus, while it has that 90 hertz display uh the TCL just flows, man, it flows really nicely uh and the OnePlus is fluid too, but day-to-day performance. Folks, I can go ahead and tell you that the TCL does not slow down at all or lag out at all um, the one plus. What I've found uh is that for, if you start to load it up with that four gigabytes.

This is so strange because this is pretty much a good representation of stock android. It really is, but the TCL um just doesn't slow down, even though it has just four gigs of ram. It's it stays speedy. Furthermore, it does its thing, so you also a big difference. You have here.

Let me go into the settings here. I want to show you a big difference here: uh, it is a big difference. Let's see go here, it's going to be the storage. You have 128 gigs over here, and you have 64 gigs over here uh on the OnePlus, and you know the fact that they have and even something like that, see how simple it is just a quick tap of that. You would think it would just go straight in, but no uh.

It takes a second, so you're. I have the same amount of apps on here um. I believe I restored from this device as a matter of fact uh, but um. You know nonetheless, just the overall experience uh and again that storage is, is more. It's double on their overall experience with the software on the um, the 20s is just better.

It doesn't slow down and lag out at all the OnePlus word n200 does in fact do that, and that's just that's just a part of the game for some reason. OnePlus put this 480 processor in here uh and I would have definitely liked to have the older processor in the 20s and get the performance uh. Someone asked why didn't they put a 600 series processor in the word? I totally agree now that I've been using it for a while. Now let me just stop at this point in the video and tell you this video isn't to say that the word is bad. I give the word an 8.5 overall, I do uh and I gave it that in the other video I did with my project, 13 be sure to check that out. If you haven't already done, so it's about a 40-minute live stream.

We did uh join us again for another live stream as well. We'll have some more guests on that one too. So, overall speediness software is better on the um, the TCL man, it's just better. Now hardware obviously is subjective. These are both beautiful, beautiful devices.

Um they're, both beautiful I like the shimmering. I would have liked to have seen the OnePlus in a gray color like this. This gray is just beautiful, there's no um the one, the OnePlus looks good, but the TCL. Obviously I think it looks a little better with that. Like that um sandy look on there, they both are had a soft touch, matte feel, but the TCL has a different kind of texture on it, and it just looks and feels a little better to me um.

I do like the camera module on the one plus the big circles. I kind of like that. But overall I mean we're looking at two great looking devices, as this comes down to personal preference. If the OnePlus had this design for the back cover with the gray and everything, oh that to me, that would just be it would be great, but the OnePlus does pick up fingerprints easier than the TCL there's like there are no fingerprints on the TCL at all. With that, the way that color combination is and the way this material looks nothing it's great.

So fingerprint readers on these things are great. You can see the TCL is just a hair faster and that's just what it is hardware wise I like them, both it's hard to choose between now this back portion. I do like better on the TCL, but I like how rounded and nice in hand the TCL is just a hair bigger and the OnePlus is a little more rounded to my liking, even with the otter box case on the OnePlus. It still feels perfect. So another thing I want to point out, which is obviously better on the TCL, is the cameras.

Now this is something that is. This is a matter of more functionality. The OnePlus can only shoot in 1080p uh video um, while the uh TCL can shoot in um 4k. Now, while the 4k isn't the greatest on the TCL, you can edit in post. If you need it to, or it depends, if the lighting is flawless, you can get some great 4k footage out of the TCL.

But overall, I just think the quality of the TCL's photos and everything just comes out a little better than the OnePlus, and I'll take some photos here, real time for you just grab these things right here about the camera and again this too is subjective. This isn't something I'm saying is a fact. I'm just saying that I think in a lot of situations, the TCL kind of. Does it a little better um the footage is crisp uh. It's its realistic, uh, trying to see how I can take this the same way.

It's got a really fast, shutter time too um, but it's it just seems like the TCL just does it a little better? I don't know I think my brightness went down but yeah write this down, but I just think the TCL. Does it just a hair, better, a hair, better uh, especially on the front camera? I think the front camera on the TCL is a little better uh. Let me see if I can just snap a quick front photo here. I'll, do uh I'll just do a regular photo um. The TCL just does it just a little, but it's more realistic, almost my other brightness, I guess it's too bright in here.

The brightness keeps dropping down on there. Let's turn off auto yeah the TCL just. Does it a hair, a hair better? I just like it a little better uh than the um than the OnePlus. That's really it's a really realistic photo to me. I like it a lot compared to the one plus, and I'll snap, a quick one on the one plus here oops wrong.

One, let's see here flip it around see how the OnePlus is just kind of it kind of overexposes, sometimes uh, but you know. Nonetheless, this could be down to personal preference, but I think the picture on the TCL is definitely a better representation of reality. That's just me that could be way off, but I think the TCL looks a little better front. Cameras on the OnePlus definitely are not on par. In my humble opinion, uh, but nonetheless, the cameras are better on the TCL.

The um screen is better. The performance is better, and I just want to point out those few things man and to me the hardware is just a little better too um, but the shape of the OnePlus is really solid. These phones are priced at about the same 240, 250 um. You know- and I didn't go too far into detail with these, but I wanted to give you just a quick conversation on these because I feel like OnePlus could have done better with the processor inside here now granted. I did get this device free right here and then TCL sent this one over uh.

I put this on. You know the free promo they had. Even if I would not have gotten this free, I was going to buy the unlocked version uh. So it didn't matter because I wanted the phone and to be fair, I do use the OnePlus a lot uh, but that's not to say that you know the TCL just because I don't use it as much isn't the better device. I think the TCL is the much better performer, better camera, better screens battery life always subjective, but they both get good battery life.

So hardware, I think, is a little better on this. The overall design, I should say, is better on the TCL 20s, so I was going to compare the 20s e, but I think this is the better match up right here. You know they have they mimic each other in hardware, a little with the fingerprint reader, the screen size and things like that, so which one of these would you purchase for 250 uh, you know- or you know, even at the price there right now, 240 and 250. I think one plus should have gone with a different processor and that would have solved all a lot of the issues with the um with the OnePlus word n200, and they could have doubled that storage too. They definitely should have given 128 gigs of storage with that four gigs of ram and then maybe a 665 like this device over here, and it would have been as speedy as this device, because the software is definitely here on the OnePlus.

It's just it just feels sluggish at times, but I still give this an 8.5. It doesn't do.4K, recording the front. Camera is not the best to me um the overall performance of it isn't as speedy as what I'm used to for OnePlus and the screen is great but does not match the screen quality on the TCL. So with that being said, you know. Obviously I rank the TC a little higher.

I give the TCL about a 9.5 or so because the TCL device, while it is a much better device. You can't get this on carriers, and you know some people uh. If I were, we were on carriers, and you had both of these options for you. I would tell you to take the TCL for sure, but um. You can't find this on carriers, and you have to pay full cost for the TCL period.

There's no carrier deals with this, but the great part is the TCL works on all carriers. You know it works on Verizon ATT. You know T-Mobile blah blah blah. It works there. So um.

I just feel like the TCL is the better purchase of the two, but they're still both great 8.5 9.5. That's my rating on both of these. I, like the TCL 20s better. It's your manager hope you guys enjoyed I'll, see you in the next one.
