Hi guys it's Frankie from Frankie tech good to see you guys again, and I'm out hiking again, and I brought with me the 10 ultra the meat 10 pro and the OnePlus 8 pro. So we're going to do this once again kind of like a vlog style, but mostly going to be sharing photos and videos of this. This is front-facing video on these three phones hear the mics. Let's see how they sound, and we'll see you guys on the other side, let's have a look and here's rear-facing video on the 10 ultra the 10 pro and the OnePlus 8 pro pretty overcast day here today in Hong Kong. I just want to share a bit of this view here with you. Guys of the brook sun is peeking through the trees over there, and you can see the city in the distance anyways.
Let's keep going, and here we begin the climb going up towards mount butler again, pretty good stabilization on all these phones. I must say here we go all right. We're coming off the trail. Now look at this gorgeous sun. Here, it's a beautiful spot to take a little of video and next up mount butler up the hill.
Here and here we go guys climbing mount butler. Now it's probably going to be like 15 20 minutes to the top, and you can hear the wind, but these phones are doing really well here on this hike, let's go, and I'm still breathing deeply guys, but I'm doing a lot better today than I did last time. So I think that means progress getting in shape. Baby, oh yeah, and we made it to the top of mount butler, showing you guys, the 10 ultra me 10 pro and the OnePlus 8 pro gorgeous views here from the top, and I did a lot better this time than I did last time. So now it's time to go down, give me them in the comments, and now I'm going down the hill guys and that's the challenge in Hong Kong.
When you get to the top, it's always a bunch of people. So it's hard to ever record anything without voices in the back, but anyway going down out towards the Wilson trail and honestly, these phones are doing a great job. So far, it's a bit overcast today, but I think it still looks. It also looks pretty good, so I'm going to take some good shots, hopefully on the Wilson trail with these three phones, and we're arriving now at the fork in the road here at the Wilson trail, and you know what guys I'm making good time. I could go that way.
It's much faster. You know what screw it. Let's go. Let's go to johnny's lookout. Let's make this a serious hike here windy, but gorgeous views here, all right guys, so I've made it to the top of Jordan's lookout, exhausted and, as usual, there's a bunch of people there so but anyways it's starting to get dark here.
We're past 6 p. m. Now, and now we're going to the nighttime portion of this camera comparison guys, I will get down to the city, but anyways see you guys in a little, and it's exhausting hiking with three phones in your backpack. I can tell you and coming down the hill from the mountains going through happy valley here. This is a pretty big town on the way to causeway bay, see how these phones are doing in the evening here.
Stop for a second here we go so and walking down right next to the happy valley racecourse. It's right there. You can barely see it. On the other side, it's been a long hike, almost three hours and 15 minutes pretty insane, but let's see how these phones are doing. There's going to be quite a bit of jitter.
I think on these phones, but right now the temp pro looks the brightest. Lets kind of stop and look at the feeder, but hit me up in the comments. What do you think and wow guys one of the most elaborate camera shootouts I've ever done here on the channel? I hope you enjoyed it, and so what do you guys think did the me10 ultra earn its spot here? With that 130 DXO mark score? Did the mi 10 pro answers back in a strong way or did the OnePlus 8 pro surprise us all in terms of daylight seals? I think all the phones did a solid job, but I did notice the OnePlus 8 pro tended to wash out the colors a bit more and the dynamic range wasn't as good as on the meat 10 pro and the meat 10 ultra and those two phones were much closer in terms of quality. I would say, but I do think the 10 pro did hang in there with the 10 ultra in daylight overall, but then with the evening shots. We started seeing the power of this me 10 ultra, and you notice, especially in some of these final shots, especially the night mode shots.
There was just more light that this Univision sensor was pulling out of the scene, and I noticed the OnePlus 8 pro struggled with the lighting from these lampposts in the evening. It really did wash out a lot of these images, and so, overall with steel photography, I probably give it to the meat 10 ultra though the me temp pro was very close and surpassed it in some shots. But when it came to video, I was surprised to see the 10 pro did a stellar job in this comparison and in some ways I feel it even surpassed the 10 ultra with some of these shots, especially with this nighttime video. I noticed the me10 pro was gathering a lot more light, and it was a much more pleasing, albeit a bit noisier shot. But visual quality is just one part of the story.
Did you guys notice the mics, the mics on the me10 ultra and the me10 pro were far louder than the ones on the OnePlus 8 pro? I did not change any of the volumes of the video, so what you hear is what you get and so voices sounded far clearer on the m10 ultra and the meat temp pro, but at the same time they captured quite a bit more wind noise and I think the OnePlus 8 pro did a better job in this regard. All in all, I was still very pleased with the video quality of these three phones, but if I had to give it to one here, I would give it to the 10 pro, maybe because of software optimizations and updates over time. It just did the better job it's hard to pick an overall winner for this. But if I had to go with one phone, I'm going to go with the me10 ultra. This Univision ov48c sensor is spectacular and as the phone continues to get software updates, I think the video quality will improve as well, and you will have- and you will have the best camera on a phone in terms of stills and video in 2020, but hit me up in the comments which phone do.
You think won this epic hiking camera shootout. I'm sure there's going to be a lot of varying opinions, so hit me up in the comments. I'd love to hear about it and that's it for this video.
