Is The OnePlus Nord As Fast As The OnePlus 8?

Did OnePlus kill their own phone. How much of a differentiator can the snapdragon 865, plus UFS 3.0 combo in the OnePlus 8 pro to be compared to the 765g plus UFS 2.1 combo on the OnePlus word? Well, let's find out in today's speed test: hey guys ash here from c4atech, and today we are testing out the OnePlus 8 against the north. So if you do find this video entertaining please consider subscribing and turning on notifications by hitting that bell icon, let's now get started now, I'm sure most of you know how a SP test go, but in case you're new to the channel. Well, here's a brief rundown. We have two rounds. The first one is where we test out some social media apps and a couple of casual games.

The second round is where things get serious, we're going to have graphically demanding games as well as a video render test that really tests out the CPU and GPU horsepower. Each of these rounds are divided into two laps. The first one is going to be all about app opening times and the second one tests out the ram management. Now, before we begin the speed test, let's play a little guessing game. No, this is not the usual whole win.

After all, the OnePlus 8. It has better internals compared to the OnePlus, not right, so we pretty much know who's going to be the winner here. Instead, what I want you guys to guess is what is going to be the biggest time difference between these two phones, five seconds 10 seconds, 20. Whatever your guess is. Let me know in the comments below now coming back to the speed test.

Both phones have been set to 90 hertz they're on the same wireless network, and there are no apps running in the background. Let's now go ahead and start the stopwatch as usual, we're going to start off with Mario Kart run neck and neck, both phones as we head into Spotify and Facebook heading down the second row of apps, the OnePlus 8 takes a slim lead, and it maintains the lead finishing the lap in 34 seconds. The north trails behind by just three seconds generally there's a chance for phones to make up for lost ground in the ram management lab. But since this is oxygen OS both phones are just tearing through, and the OnePlus 8 wins the first round clocking in 49 seconds. The knot does really well too finishing at 53 seconds.

So basically, if you're, someone who doesn't push their phones a lot, the word and the OnePlus 8 are pretty much similar when it comes to the day-to-day tasks. A fraction of a second in app opening times is not gonna, be really noticeable, but will this situation change when we introduce more demanding games and thrown a video render test? Well we're going to be using the video shop app today importing the same 4k clip on both phones, slowing it down to 30 and keeping it ready to render with that out of the way? Let's again start, the stopwatch kicking things off with PUBG looks like the OnePlus 8 is loading it up a tad faster yep. There you go. That's the fast two lanes, UFS 3.0 storage at work. The OnePlus 8 gains an early lead this time around by the end of the second row of abs, the word is behind by two apps.

Can it catch up? It's at hot star, while the OnePlus 8 has already started the render things are starting to look grim for the word as the OnePlus 8, with its snapdragon 865 and arena 650 GPU, it's just chewing through the render, and it's actually finished the render by the time the not has even started the OnePlus 8 claims the first lap with the timing of a minute and six seconds by the time the nod finishes at a minute and 19. The OnePlus 8 is nearly halfway through ram management. It finishes it without any hiccups and claims an easy second round victory at a minute and 26 seconds. The knot is nearly 16 seconds behind finishing the second round at a minute and 42. Let's now reboot the phones and check boot timings.

Now, like I said at the start, the speed test wasn't about which phone's going to be faster because going, and we knew the OnePlus 8 would be, but it was more about how much faster would it be so hope? This video satisfied your curiosity as it did in mind. It was actually quite interesting how, despite being a mid-range device, the not then falter with ram management. It kept PUBG in memory, something many flagship phones have struggled to do in the past. So for me, if you're a light user, the OnePlus knob might just be as fast as the eight for you. But if your usage is heavier you're, definitely going to get a noticeable speed bump with the OnePlus 8.

By the way, did you get your predictions right? Leave a comment down below letting me know and with that we get to the end of the speed test thumbs up thumbs down, based on whatever you felt about it, also subscribe and turn on notifications by hitting that bell icon. If you haven't yet, and thanks a lot for watching till next time, my name is ash. You've been watching c4 retch, and I'm signing off. For now. You guys have a great day bye.
