Hey guys Dan here from CLE Tech, and today we're going to take a look at my top five favorite features about the BlackBerry key one. So to me, there is no doubt that the key one is BlackBerry's best phone to date. Not only is it my favorite blackberry, but it's possibly becoming one of my favorite Android phones, the design and the overall feel of the phone is sleek, but very professional couple that with BlackBerry's flight software tweaks on top of what is seemingly stock Android and you have a pretty interesting device so without wasting any more time here are my five favorite features that make the BlackBerry key one for your next smartphone. As you can probably tell the BlackBerry key one's primary draw comes from its physical keyboard, so you can guess that a few of these features are going to be keyboard related starting off with the ability to use your keyboard as a trackpad or scroll wheel. This is super awesome for scrolling through Twitter timeline or long articles, because your finger never blocks the content and that greatly reduces the amount of fingerprints that you put on your phone's display. It also makes using the key one with one hand a breeze, at least when you're not trying to type anything out now.
There is one flaw when using this feature in portrait mode, you're, almost certainly going to hit the navigation buttons when accidentally scrolling, it's a bit frustrating, especially when typing or swiping up on the keyboard to use the predictive text feature. If this is something that really bothers you, you can always switch to landscape mode, which makes this feature flawless. Sticking with the keyboard here. For my next favorite feature is the ability to remap almost any key to open up almost any app or run any service now remapping, every key to open up all of your apps might be a bit much, but this feature is very useful to those who need to launch into a specific set of apps or functions quickly. So to do this simply long press to key, you would like to remap, and then you'll be greeted with some options to choose from like open up any app speed, dial send a message to some of your favorite contacts, or you can dive further into all the shortcuts available and there are tons of different shortcuts broken into different categories.
So, for example, I use YouTube a lot, obviously, and I program the Y key to open up the YouTube app. Now some of these keys already have preset functions tied to them, so you will have to press a few keys around to see what's available, but this can be highly useful and pretty much eliminate the need for apps on your home screen. If you want to have a cleaner home screen, look so if you're really into remapping button, then the convenience key located on the right side of the device might just be your new best friend. Unlike the Big C button on the new Samsung Galaxy S8 and s8, plus the convenience key is meant to be well more convenient, meaning you can practically route this button into whatever direction. You're thinking, whether it be an app function, service, etc.
This button here is to make whatever you do with most of your phone, quick and easy for you to access. So in this case, I have it mapped to the BlackBerry hub, since this is where all of my notifications live so that I can quickly access my notifications and handle all of my emails and text was a tap of a button now. This brings us right into our next feature, and that, of course, is the BlackBerry hub. Now the BlackBerry hub is arguably one of the most intriguing things about blackberries and definitely was the main priority to somehow keep when the company made their switch to running Android on their devices. Blackberry hub is a hub of all of your notifications and messages from all sorts of accounts, its BlackBerry's way of organizing your notifications without any of the extra fluff that the app might add a lot of business, men or women might find this feature very useful, because I never actually have to leave the hub to get work done, thus minimizing distractions and increasing productivity.
So, as you can see, I have a few email accounts and text linked up to the hub, and this really made answering all of these messages much more efficient and easy for me, something I kind of had a hard time doing with other phones. Finally, our last feature and doubling down on productivity, as if the BlackBerry hub wasn't enough. Blackberry also gives you the productivity tab which, to me, is a much more useful version of the edge panel that you find on some Samsung devices. The productivity tab can be accessed by swiping from right to left, or vice versa, depending on how you have the tab. Configured you'll then be greeted with information based off a few different categories, like your calendar message, tasks and contacts, this can be accessed from almost any screen on the device and is definitely helpful to have some of this information at a quick glance.
Now I do have one honorable mention when it comes to features, and that is that the space bar actually doubled as a fingerprint sensor, which not only makes the front of the device cleaner, but the fingerprint sensor is very good. It's definitely one of the more accurate sensors that I have used in a long time, and it's very quick and super responsive. So that does it for me and my favorite features about the BlackBerry key one. If you guys want to see more coverage on the blackberry, q10 comment down below letting me know what you guys would like to see. Thanks for watching, and I will see you all in the next one.
You.
