Is iPhone 11 Pro Still Worth It In 2021? (One Year Later Review)

Hey it's Daniel from DLT reviews, and this is iPhone 11 Pro, and today we're going to find out if it's still worth it. So this has been the phone that's been in my pocket for the past year or so now, and I've had a pretty good experience with it. It does all the basics well, but I didn't really think it was worth the thousand dollar price tag, but now that the iPhone 12s are out, is it worth picking up at a lower price? I think the first thing we need to consider is the new iPhone 12 lineup. Of course that's on everyone's minds. Right now and in comparison I don't really think the 12 pro is such an upgrade from the 11 pro that it justifies that couple hundred dollar price difference between the two and the 11 pro is still a great smartphone today. I just don't really think that thousand dollar smartphones are worth it anymore, like you could get a perfectly good smartphone from last year, at a great price in comparison to you know, shelling out a thousand bucks just for a smartphone.

You know, I don't think it's worth it, okay, so now that we got that out of the way, let's talk about the phone's design and there's not much of a story here, it's basically the same thing as iPhone 10 and 10 s. It's just that it has a frosted glass back which, if you don't use a case, is really amazing, because you don't get any of those fingerprints anymore, and it's harder to slide off of any surface. But I guess, if you're using a case, it doesn't really matter. Also, it has this wacky camera bump, which was meted a lot last year and it kind of looks like a Bob phone in my color, but it's just there. You know, I guess it's normalized.

Now it doesn't look as weird, because all the iPhone 12s also have it so yeah this that's about it for the design. Moving on to the display, this phone has a 5.8 inch OLED display, and that means you get those nice inky, blacks and the very nice punchy colors that you can expect from an OLED display, and I think the 5.8 inch form factor is an ideal form factor for me, since I don't really like huge phones or small phones, so I can't enjoy my media on it. I do like one-handed devices, though still so the iPhone 11 Pro is a perfect size in that regard. Also, the display does get pretty bright out in the sunlight, so I'm able to view it. You know when I'm trying to do stuff outdoors, which I don't really do anymore and also at night it does get pretty dim, so it doesn't destroy your eyeballs when you're trying to watch videos in pitch black scenarios, you're not really going to notice much of a difference between this display and the displays on the iPhone 10 and 10s and even 12, because they're all pretty much the same thing.

It does have slightly different colors, but you're not really going to notice that anyways unless you're looking at them side by side. So this is a very nice display in the end and if you're coming from an lcd like on iPhone 10r, iPhone, 11 or iPhone 8 and older, this will be a very nice upgrade since you are upgrading from LCD to OLED. Those are two very different technologies and sleds. Just look much better. Next, I'm gonna talk about the cameras and cameras on the iPhone.11 pro are very good and still hold up today. Obviously they don't have some new features on iPhone 12 and 12 pro and pictures and videos aren't as nice, but I still do think they take very nice pictures nonetheless, and also very nice videos.

So let's talk about that. One of the cool things about iPhone 11 Pro's camera system is its versatility. It takes very nice photos and very nice videos, whereas some other phones might take very nice pictures, but the video isn't that great iPhone.11 pro covers all the bases here and that theme is extended to the camera hardware. It has three lenses, the ultra-wide angle, lens the wide angle lens and the two times telephoto lens, which means you have options for whatever picture you want to take my favorite one is the ultra-wide angle lens. I love that all phones now have an ultra-wide angle lens and, of course, on the front.

It also has a selfie camera. It takes pretty alright selfies, it still kind of looks grainy, but the good thing is, you can take 4k video at 30 frames per second. So if you do want to vlog and use the front camera, there's that also iPhone 11 Pro is the first iPhone to get night mode and night mode is obviously a very important feature today in all smartphones and iPhone 11 Pro's night mode is automatic, so you don't need to toggle it on or anything. If the subject is too dark, it just turns on night mode, and it takes a little more time to process, but the results are pretty good as well. I think this phone still does a good job.

So now I'm going to shift gears into battery life and battery life is usually what takes a hit on the smaller form factor smartphone when there's a normal phone and a plus-sized phone because of the smaller you know, hardware, it's harder to fit in a huge battery, so the iPhone 11 Pro really surprised me in how good the battery life is. This thing can last me, through a heavy day of use and still leave 30 to 20 percent battery. In a normal day, it probably leaves me 40 battery at the end of the day, so I think that's just amazing out of a smartphone, that's this size. It just really surprised me how good this is. Apple actually made the phone thicker than previous generation iPhones to put a bigger battery in that.

Just like blew my mind when I heard of it, and also if you're, comparing this phone to iPhone, 12 pro or even iPhone.12. Keep this in mind that those two phones have a smaller battery than this phone actually and those two phones are bigger than this phone and because those two phones have the 5g modem inside that sucks up a lot of battery, so you're probably going to get much better battery life with this phone, despite it being smaller than those two phones. So if you're trying to compare the two and see if you should spend more money on those phones- and you want to keep a budget in mind- iPhone 11 Pro is going to do you just fine all right. Let's finally, move on to the phone's performance on iPhone 11 Pro is pretty speedy. It opens everything up fast, there's not many hiccups around the OS and given that it's using Apple Silicon, and it's an iPhone, you know it's just one of the fastest phones on the market.

But nowadays, all phones are pretty amazing. They all perform really well, and they can all last a very long time. So I wouldn't really care much about the performance, since you know they're they're, all great nowadays, and especially given apple's track records with software updates. You can expect to use this phone for a very long time and now that I've gone over my experiences with iPhone 11 Pro. Is this phone still worth it, and given that the phone is discounted everywhere now, and you could pick one up for a good price used? I think this is a great alternative to the iPhone 12 and 12 pro if you're looking for a cheaper option, but you still want a solid smartphone.

The only problem is this phone doesn't have 5g compared to those phones, but you know what 5g really doesn't matter right now I have tested 5g and honestly, depending on where you live, you're, probably not going to see much of a difference for now, maybe in a couple of years after the carriers have finished, improving their 5g networks and finished building them out, but right now it's basically a beta test. It depends on where you live and the crazy fast speeds you see with millimeter wave you're, not really going to be able to use that that much anyways, if you are even close to a place where they have millimeter wave signal. So given that iPhone 11 Pro is still a solid option.
