IPhone 12 VS LG V50 Thinq - (Cameras, Gaming & Speakers)

What is up guys today, we'll be comparing the lg v50 to the iPhone 12, one of the latest flagships and the v50 a little older, but one of my favorite phones this year, my number one pick uh recommendation for most people this in the g8, just because of these uh price to spec ratio. It's just amazing. It's a 5g phone. These are both 5g phones, that's why, so they can pair actually very evenly uh, but this one is just much cheaper. So you can pick this one up brand new 300 bucks put the links down below iPhone, 12 uh brand new is going to cost you 7.99, I believe, like after taxes, it was like 87, so a very expensive phone uh. So let's go ahead and get started with the hardware.

So picking both phones up the iPhone 12 is definitely a little heavier uh than the v50 and uh. The b50 is definitely a bit taller uh. They are both glass and metal phones, so just to go around both have power button on the v50 sim tray power button on the iPhone, which is huge. I love that these power buttons are so big, and you also have your volume rockers on both of these phones. On the left side, you have your mute vibration switch on the iPhone, and we have a Google Assistant button on the v50.

So if you come down both these phones support stereo speakers, which we will check out. You have USB type c, and then you have Apple's lightning cable, and you also have a 3.5 millimeter jack on the v50, with the quad dag. If you don't know what that is. Basically, if you have some perfect pair of headphones, you can get some perfect high quality audio out of the v50, which is awesome now. One thing that goes kind of underappreciated about the v50 has a completely flat camera design.

So, as you can see no raise, you can see the iPhone as just a little raised right here, and you know wobbles a little the v50 completely flat. As you can see, fingerprint scanners right here does not wobble at all. It actually slides such a really like slippery phone. I just absolutely love it. It looks spotless, and you also see that 5g lighting logo- I just really love that it just gives it a very classy clean.

Look to me alright. So let's talk about the displays with both of these phones, starting with the v50, we have a 6.4 inch, 1440p poled display 538 for the PPI. It's an always on display on the iPhone. We have a 6.1 inch display it's the super retina Dr OLED display. This is a long name, it's 1170 by 2532, so basically 1080p panel for 60 for the PPI.

So, basically, when you're looking at both displays here, uh there's one thing that you will notice: the iPhone has a much bigger notch uh than the v50 it houses the face ID. The vb50 has a notch, and it houses the dual cameras up here, so they both make use of having this a notch space um, you have pretty slim bezels on both of these phones. They look pretty much about. Even I think you have just a little more bezel on the v50 at the bottom on the sides. They look pretty even uh, though so alright.

So I do feel like the v50 still has the better display here. It's 1440p a higher PPI. This is 1080p with a lower PPI and basically, if you look up close uh text and icons is going to be just sharper on the v50 uh, so the iPhone display isn't bad. It did a really nice jump from the 11 going from IPS uh to this OLED. So I really like that, and you also have just the smaller notch, so you get a more you know: immersive experience when you're uh watching content on your phone here, but they're, both very beautiful displays, uh, beautiful colors, uh, so yeah, the v50 just has the know slight edge here.

Both of these phones have stereo speakers, one at the bottom and then one at the top here. So I have them at max volume. Let's go ahead and see which one uh sounds louder or better yeah. The iPhone definitely sounds uh way louder and has way more bass presence. And it's because of this front speaker, I'm thinking because the speaker right here is just so small.

Only b50 yeah so definitely uh a louder set of stereo speakers on the iPhone 12 uh. Now, if you're in a know loud, environment you'll be able to hear both of these phones uh easy, no problem, so the software experience on both phones is very smooth. There's a lot to like about both. I really love like FaceTime and iMessage on iOS, and I love just the integrated Google stuff that they do in android, like the Google now page, is a must, absolutely love it, and it's different with each android phone. So when it comes to features like you have screen, recording built-in screen sharing have a ton of stuff, like I said, the quad deck on the v50 as well.

You have dark mode on both of these phones as well just a ton of stuff to play with in android, but this is a more clean version of android on the v50 uh. So it's you know pretty much like stock android. So if you're on like a Samsung device, then I can show you like a ton of stuff. That's really uh different, but this is really like basic android stuff. So uh let's go ahead and get into the specs, so we have the snapdragon 855 and arena 640 and on the iPhone we have the Apple A14 bionic chip.

We do not have expandable storage on the iPhone. You only get 64 gigs of uh internal storage, which kind of sucks, because I think that's a little low for this price point, and we have four gigs of ram uh on the iPhone. We do have micro, SD support on the v50, 128, gigs of storage, so more storage, and we have more ram on db 50 at six gigs all right. So let's go ahead and start off with YouTube. I have all the applications closed.

It's faster on the v50 here, Instagram faster on the v50. I think it loaded it up it loaded that video up faster, let's try, temple run uh games are usually much faster on iOS, oh wow, I'm surprised the v50 is keeping up with the iPhone wow they're, both even huh. I wasn't expecting this at all. Oh see, subway surfer iPhone got it. There, put the v50 right behind so this 855 chip.

Remember it's still a flagship tier chip. It's just because it's in you know an older chip now doesn't mean that it's not still, you know, flagship speeds. The iPhone got it there. So as we can see very fast, let's go ahead and run the benchmark scores. That's why I will show you guys the have to download into two that's what I always show you guys the real world, because sometimes the benchmarks aren't gonna, give you like a realistic.

You know view all right guys, so we have to do it through geek bench because they removed an tutu from uh the play store for some reason, but as you can see huge score difference on the single core and multi-core, but again as we saw in the real world comparison uh, the v50 is not too far off uh from the iPhone 12 processor uh. But you know you got to get props uh. This is a very fast processor going to compare to the v60 tomorrow to the a65 chip. Let you guys know how that is. Going to do all right, so we're in pub g on both phones.

Let's go ahead and check out the graphics uh with the iPhone here, so we can go up to ultra HD, with frame rates on ultra on the v50. We can also go up to ultra HD as well with ultra frame rates, so it looks like the same gaming settings for both phones, which is really, really nice. How awesome is that just get into the game real, quick and see, so both phones look pretty much identical here, yeah, so you're on the same graphic settings on pub g, so these are going to be great gaming phones, uh. So, whichever phone you go with, I just know you're getting a phone, that's going to be able to play games on high, no problem. Now, let's go ahead and talk about some additional features, so both of these phones support NFC for mobile payments, which is really nice again.

The v50 has a headphone jack. The iPhone uh does not uh, so you have IPA rating on both of these phones uh, which is really nice, so you can get them wet, and they won't break. You know immediately with some that I really like so on the v50. You have a few ways you have the face unlock, and then you have the physical fingerprint scanner to get into your device on the iPhone. Furthermore, you only have uh the face ID uh, so basically getting into your phone or the v50 is going to be faster with both methods, because uh with the face unlock, you don't have that little animation that the iPhone does.

So, as you can see you just really just tap it, and you're in your phone there's no animation or anything on the v50. Now on the iPhone you have to look at it, it does a little unlocked icon, and then you have to swipe up. So it's going to be much faster, getting into your phone on the v50 as opposed to the iPhone now the face ID on the iPhone is definitely a little more secure than the face ID or the facial scanner on the v50, but you do have more options on the v50, which is something that I like alright. So let's talk about the camera, so on the v50 you have a 12 megapixel standard, a 12, megapixel telephoto, 16, megapixel, ultra-wide 4k, 30 or 60fps have a dual front facing camera setup and eight megapixels standard and 5 megapixels wide. It only shoots in 1080p, though, on the v50 on the iPhone.

You have a 12 megapixel wide and a 12 megapixel ultra-wide you get 4k video, 24, 30 or 60 fps 12 megapixel selfie. That is also 4k, 24, 30 or 60 fps, so uh. What I noticed from the cameras, definitely uh from the main sensors is that uh they both match up very well uh. The v50 is gonna, give you some very color accurate and realistic photos uh. They both do really well with detail as well uh, which is something that I really like the iPhone sort of does.

What Samsung does and kind of over saturates and doesn't give you like a real color, accurate life like image. It kind of like makes it like really pop and stuff like that. So I know a lot of people like that kind of photo. But if you like more realistic photos, then the v50 definitely can offer you that now, on the ultra-wide, the iPhone definitely has more detail than the v50 again, the v50 keeps its color accuracy, but the iPhone definitely beats it when it comes to just the overall photo. I think the quality is just better on the iPhone, with that ultra-wide lens now you're missing the telephoto lens on the iPhone uh, which kind of sucks uh for this price point.

But, as you can see, with these shots, uh they're very close with the main lens. I was really impressed uh with the v50. It gives you some really color accurate photos. The iPhone always seems to kind of bring in like a lot of light out of nowhere like even if it's kind of like a dark environment it'll like to bring in a bunch of light, which I found fascinating, the front-facing camera. I do like a little more on the iPhone again.

It does bring in a bunch of light that really wasn't there. The v50 is definitely more realistic, but, as you can see more detail on the iPhone. Just came out a little, crisper uh on that shot and as far as video uh, both of these phones really look identical again for video um. I missed the depth sensor on the iPhone. You don't have it.

You just have the ultra-wide, which is good, but I really miss it on here. For again this price point, so, overall, two very good cameras. You got to give it to the v50 for hanging in there with the iPhone's cameras, even though it's you know newer phone. I was still pretty impressed here. So let's go ahead and talk about battery life, so the v50 has a 4 000 William battery.

You have 18 watt fast charging. You also have wireless charging on the iPhone. Furthermore, you have a much smaller 2 815 William battery uh with 20 watt fast charging, so it charges a little faster, and you also have wireless charging on the iPhone as well. So basically, the iPhone is just no match for the v50 when it comes to battery life. Now, if you're using 5g, I have not used either of these phones on 5g, because I don't live in a 5g area, but on 4g you will get 8 hours and 30 minutes of screen on time versus approximately 6 hours and 30 minutes of screen on time on the iPhone.

So just much better battery life on the v50 can easily go a day and a half, but the iPhone you can get through the day. Uh no problem. You know if you're a light user or something like that, then you shouldn't be running to the charger at all. So what do you guys think be sure to let me know I'll catch you guys in the next video.
