iPhone 11 Pro vs Sony RX100 VII | Who is the new King of Compact Camera?

This is the Sony rx100 mark 7, and many people say that this is the king of compact cameras, the Sony packs a 1-inch camera sensor with 20 megapixels. It has a 200 millimeter super zoom lens that shoots Forte's at 30 frames. It comes with a flippy screen, so you can frame yourself during your shots and in this latest version, Sony has given us a microphone, jack ? and for the pleasure of owning one Sony will charge you one thousand two hundred and ninety-nine dollars on their website, and this is the iPhone 11 Pro, which apple claims to be able to take pro level photography. The iPhone doesn't come with a one-inch sensor like the Sony, but it has three smaller camera senses that are paired individually with a white ultra white and telephoto lens Apple, currently retails a 250 GB version of the iPhone 11 Pro max at $120049, and that's almost the same price. You would pay for a Sony rx100, Mark 7, which is why we are comparing these devices to find out which one has the better camera sensor. Size matters the larger the sensor, the more light it can use to create an image.

This is the full-frame sensor of a Sony a7. Three, the Sony rx100 has a one-inch sensor and the sensor on the iPhone is a lot smaller than that, and therefore the one-inch sensor on the Sony rx100 should technically create the better photo, but because the iPhone 11 Pro has three of these sensors. Coupled with Apple's outstanding image, processing capabilities, it was able to push out images that were comparable to Sony's one-inch sensor. But if we take a closer look at these photos, you'll notice that the photo from the Sony rx100 is a lot sharper when zoomed in and that's because of the 20 megapixel sensor. But what the iPhone 11 Pro lacks in megapixel.

It makes up for using its image, processing software, and it's powerful 813 chips and, as a result, Apple was able to push up the highlights and vibrancy of this photo and Apple. Does this by taking 340 at 15 exposures, one at the brightest setting another at the darkest and then one more at regular exposure and the software automatically blends the photos together to create the image we see here. Apple calls this HDR photo which stands for high dynamic range and the image processing software on the iPhone. Does this in a fraction of a second Apple also uses software to blow up the background to create depth of field, and they're getting perfect at recognizing faces, but when it comes to food photography, it can sometimes struggle at finding the edges enhance. This is a typical 200, millimeter, telephoto lens, and yet somehow Sony has managed to squeeze this bulky lens into the compact body of the rx100.

The iPhone, on the other hand, only has a 52, millimeter telephoto lens, which sits almost flat in the body of the phone in our tests is quite obvious. The rx100 captures a lot more detail. The image on the iPhone 11 Pro looks like it was cropped in and that's to be expected of, that small camera system, and so far, there's just no amount of software trickery that Apple and Google can pull to replace physical optical zoom enhance, enhance, enhance, enhance, at least not yet. This famous rocky scene from 1979 was shot with a Steadicam back. Then, if you wanted to shoot stabilized videos without At tali, you had to strap on a 20 pound Steadicam gear, but then you fast for to 2019, and then you're inundated with a gazillion options, and then you get E is which stands for electronic image.

Stabilization electronic image stabilization compensates for jittery camera movements using the onboard gyroscopes and special software algorithm in the world of action cameras. Software is being used, create stabilized videos on tiny cameras like this, and this GoPro Hero 7 black currently lets us shoot cinematic, buttery, smooth videos that looks as if they were shot on a dolly or a gimbals. So for this test, we're comparing the e is on the rx100 and iPhone 11 Pro to the GoPro Hero 7 black, okay stabilization now shooting a Steadicam video is probably not what you're picking up the iPhone 11 Pro and the Sony rx100 4. But if you have to shoot handheld at least you know the iPhone 11 Pro does a slightly better job. You might want to prep work a bit more when you're on the Sony you'll also notice the audio quality from the iPhone 11 Pro was a lot better when compared to Sony's own microphone, but in terms of video stabilization, the GoPro Hero 7 black is totally in its own world.

No, like photography, has been iPhones Achilles heels for the last few years, but on the new iPhone 11 Pro, there is a new night mode, and it promises to take better photos at night. The night photos from the iPhone 11 Pro are definitely a huge improvement over the older generation. iPhones Sony was perfect too, and by having that larger sensor, it also meant that it was better at low-light photography, and it preserves more detail when you take a closer look, but in all honesty they are both very hard to tell, apart with the Sony rx100 you'll, get the option to manually set the aperture and shutter speed to yield different results, whereas the iPhone 11 Pro always seems to overexpose on everything. We felt that there was too much light in the city, so we headed over to the heart of darkness at the Gardening Ranges. He realized the simplicity of having a camera system like the iPhone 11 Pro under complete darkness and by simply selecting the maximum exposure in night mode.

The iPhone was able to capture this image and under some really clear skies you could even do Castro photography when the Sony we had to trial and error a few camera settings before getting the ideal shot. But when you compare them side-by-side, the image from the iPhone 11 Pro is very grainy and by having the option to manually set different aperture, shutter, speed and ISO. The Sony is a much better camera if you know what you're doing, but for the most of us that leave everything in auto mode. You'll find that the night mode on the iPhone 11 Pro is very competent at grabbing the perfect shot a lot of time at low-light situations like when you're at the pub hello Internet. We all know that the best camera is the one that you have in your hands.

So it's very important that the camera is small and compact enough to be carried around a lot of the videos that we've published on YouTube. I would say 50% of it, we've been shot on the smartphone, but the smartphone doesn't always produce the greatest result, except maybe until now the iPhone 11 Pro has proven itself to be a real, capable shooter, and you can really point and shoot and then let the software figure out which frame is best. The new ultra-white camera is a great addition, which means you don't have to back up in crowded areas just to take a picture, and you can fit more people in and that translates to the front-facing camera as well night. Photography has suddenly improved and Apple has made it very difficult for anyone to take a bad picture. The Sony is no slouch either with a 2.8 aperture. This camera produces true depth of field without any of that software trickery that sometimes misidentifies the edges of the subject and with a 24 to 200, millimeter zoom lens means you don't have to carry around all that heavy lens equipment whenever you're on the move, sound quality has always been bad on the rx100 and Sony has acknowledged it by giving it a microphone jack so now.

Loggers who value sound quality can now bring their own microphone and take advantage of this system. So this is what we think about the two camera system. Apple has made a camera that lets you take pro quality photos with minimum skills, but the Sony rx100. Will you a much better result and a much rewarding one in the hands of a camera, enthusiast or professional, and if you're in the market, for the iPhone 11 Pro? Why not check out it's cheaper little brother, the iPhone 11? It's got the same camera system just without the telephoto lens. Thank you for watching.

Please! Let us know what you think about the two camera system in the comment section below and if you like, this video, don't forget to give us the thumbs up, and please subscribe to find out what happens during our camper van trip in Japan hasta la vista, baby,.
