iPhone 11 Pro Max Vs. Google Pixel 3a: Camera Comparison

What is going on everybody. Thank you. So much for tuning in my name is John. Today we're going to be doing a camera comparison between the Apple iPhone 11, Pro Max and the Google Pixel 3a, which you can pick up at any Best Buy or any participating retailer for about 399. The iPhone 11 Pro max here, I have it in rose gold starts out at 1099. You can pick it up for about eleven.

Seventy-five, like I, said the Google Pixel three, a three. Ninety-nine. You can pick it up for about four thirty really awesome little devices takes awesome photos, so does the iPhone 11 Pro Max, and today we're going to be comparing the two by looking at some photos. I took just recently, so I am no pro photographer, but we're just going to take a look at some of the photos that these devices can take. On the left hand, side is the Google Pixel 3a and on the right hand, side is the Apple iPhone 11 Pro Max, as you can see by just looking at device model here you can see iPhone 11, Pro, Max and Pixel 3a.

So if you lose track of where we are throughout the video just make sure to look at the Vice model, so you can tell the difference anyway. So I went to my local downtown area early in the morning to try to get some cool night shot photos and was able to capture this photo here of the social house, which is a bar and restaurant from the street. Here, iPhone 11 Pro Max on the right Google Pixel 3a on the left, I am going to have to say the Google Pixel 3a looks better here, just the colors on the photo look better. They don't look quite as bland as they do in the iPhone 11 Pro Max. They look good on the Google Pixel 3a.

Let's go ahead and look at some other photos here. So we've got this really cool picture of the sky bar. This is another restaurant. That's next door! That's outside! The social house they've got their bar on top of a roof which is really cool so, as you can see, I'm having a lot of fun here with the iPhone 11 Pro max, using that 50 millimeter zoom that you get on the triple camera: module no zoom on the Google Pixel 3a, just to standard 28, millimeter lens, but still a gorgeous photo, but definitely more interesting on the 11 Pro max, because you do get that 50 millimeter lens this one was just pretty silly I, don't know why I took this photo, but there was this really cool green light and I just wanted to see which phone could portray the green, better and right now. I think the iPhone 11 Pro Max is really showing how green that scene really is definitely more true to life on the iPhone 11 Pro Max than on the Google Pixel 3a, as you can see on the Google Pixel 3a, there's kind of a bluish tint.

That makes this green look almost teal, and it's not till it's its an it's a very bright green. So it looks more real and true to life on the 11pro. Max so just keep that in mind for future photos. As you can see here, the 11pro max or excuse me, the 11pro max is really showing a lot of that haziness that you get from this light. There was kind of a smoky smokiness and the iPhone is really picking that up well as compared to the Pixel 3a.

Here we go. This is the photo that I like better on the iPhone 11 Pro Max. It just looks more exciting on the 11 Pro max it looks like there's more action. I believe I took this with the wide-angle lens, so I actually had to change positions here, I was standing, I was standing further back when I took the picture with the Pixel 3a, and then I actually had to walk up a little just to use the 12 millimeter wide angle lens on the 11pro max to sort of get that banding here that you see on the light, that's sort of bowed a little and that's because I'm using that 12 millimeter lens, so it gives it a very cool, dramatic effect. When you use that 12 millimeter lens, you don't get that dramatic effect at the Google Pixel 3a, simply because it doesn't have the 12 millimeter lens.

It only has the 28 millimeter lens, but it does a pretty good job of taking a dramatic photo. Nonetheless, here is a picture of a rep of a sign-on of the of a restaurant. This is Capone's, they Bank Pizza Coal Fired Pizza, as you can tell by the sign, but let's go ahead and look at this black behind the sign here. It just looks so much better on the Google Pixel 3a, it looks darker the blocks, look richer, the Reds look richer and overall, the photo actually looks more dramatic, and it looks more it just pops a little better on the Pixel 3a, and I'm just using the standard, 28 millimeter lenses on the Pixel 3a when compared to using the standard, 27 millimeter lenses on the iPhone 11 Pro Max both are using nitrite, so both are doing a pretty good job of taking a low-light photos. Here's some here's another picture on the iPhone 11 Pro Max using that 12 millimeter and then here's just you know the lump and Pro max is very interesting.

You really have to avoid taking photos in direct light, or else you can accidentally take a photo. That looks a little washed out now with the Google Pixel 3a. It has this sort of ND filter on it that allows you to take photos and direct sunlight and I. Think that gives the Google Pixel 3/8 a lot of advantage. In many circumstances, earlier I was saying that color is on the iPhone 11 Pro Max they're a little more true to life than they are on the pixel, 3/8 and I.

Think this little of yellow that you're getting here with the 11pro max. On the right hand, side is just because of the lighting that's available. It's its just gonna, look a little yellow, as you can tell by these little dots here, the lights are yellow you get one blue light there, but the lights are pretty yellow and overall, the photos is going to be yellow because the lights are yellow. So you're getting something, that's true to life and that's true to color, that's color, accurate on the 11pro Max and on the Google Pixel 3a you're, getting something that's a little more stylized howbeit. This picture does look better than on the iPhone 11 Pro Max it's not, it is accurate.

Color wise I would even venture out to say that the black and the red are a little more accurate on the skeleton. So this red skull cap is definitely brighter on the iPhone 11 Pro Max, and this black t-shirt is definitely darker. The black t-shirt on the Google Pixel 3a on the skeleton, looks a little more like it could be. Maybe blue! You could argue that I think and that's due to the fact that there's just this bluish tint with the Google Pixel 3a, when you take photos with it. So here's a photo of Starbucks again, not a very good composition, not a very good subject for on either device.

But, as you can see, the Google Pixel 3 a just makes it look fascinating, and it just makes it pop. But, as you can see, perfect shadow picking up on the shadows here with the iPhone 11 Pro Max is terrific and of course you get the 50 millimeter lens, the 12 millimeter ultra-wide and the 27 millimeter standard. So really, this thing is a lot more fun to shoot with than the Google Pixel 3. A just some photos taken here is a gentleman delivering for Gordon Foods, just working early in the morning, making sure that these this restaurant has everything that it needs when you're taking pictures of people or anything natural I think the 11pro max is the way to go. It doesn't look stylized in any way.

It looks like it just looks more accurate, and it looks more true to life on the Google Pixel 3a. Furthermore, it looks more dramatic and that's not what you're really going for when you're taking just a basic picture like this you're really going for something more true to life, I think and the 11pro Mac. So it's just more true to life. So here's a cool picture of Ford's garage. This is just a restaurant.

That's this is the restaurant, where that guy is delivering those packages to just a cool picture of the neon lights out in front of the entrance to the restaurant. There you only get one shot with the Google Pixel 3a, but it does a damn good job of taking photos. I will say that so this is specifically a night shot taken with each device. Exposure time here was one ninth of a second exposure time here was point three zero. Eight three seconds not really sure how that compares, but both were using an F 1.8 aperture both have the same aperture value. Both are at a resolution of 72 by 72.

If we just zoom in on the Google Pixel 3a, here really a lot of detail and the brick and then the table itself, you can definitely see what Dominoes are being played with, as well as on the iPhone 11 Pro Max I would even argue that you get more detail on the 11pro max here. Those Dominoes just really pop and come to life and so does the table and so do the characters when you zoom in and so does that brick, this brick even looks more detailed. So if we actually look at the brick between the iPhone, 11, Pro Max and the Google Pixel 3a I would definitely say that the Pixel 3a is lower resolution than the 11pro max oops. This is a pretty lackluster photo here. I just wanted to give a good idea of what the nitrite can do on each device.

What's fascinating about the iPhone 11 Pro Max. Is you can't just toggle nitrite whenever you want it sort of comes up when it thinks you need it? So both phones do a very nice job. Here's Downtown House of Pizza, really nice, perfect pizza restaurant downtown for miles I think this photo actually looks much better on the iPhone 11 Pro Mac. So if we actually look here at the 11pro Malice's photo, the wall is actually a very nice color. It's not an inaccurate color.

It's just. Furthermore, it looks a little too dark on the Google Pixel 3. So if we actually look at the Google Pixel 3 a photo here in comparison, so here is the iPhone 11 pearl max. This is the 11 Pro max. As you can see, this wall looks bright.

It looks like it's accurately depicted on the Google Pixel 3, a just looks a little on the darker side. Similar photo took some landscapes, what's actually really nice about the pencil 3 days you get some detail, so here is some trash, and here is some dirt on the wall that you really get good detail of with the pixel 3. Oh, that's really not coming up on the iPhone 11 Pro Max I, wonder if the 11 Pro max just thinks that that is some kind of splotchiest, and it's using HDR to get that out of the photo. But you can see if we zoom in on this beer bar here. You actually get much more detail on the Google Pixel 3ac.

We can actually tell this is a coarse light on the iPhone 11 Pro Max. You cannot tell that it's of course, like yeah, we actually have no idea what it is. So there's just some, you know, I mean these cameras can go back and forth all day. The Google Pixel 3 a really is a phenomenal camera. Though, for 399 you really cannot beat it.

Look at the detail on the Google Pixel 3a here of the wall. I mean this cement wall is really just popping with the Google Pixel 3/8. It looks great on the iPhone 11 Pro Max as well, though it actually I, don't know which one would be more realistic. The iPhone 11 Pro max or the Google Pixel 3, a guys are gonna, have to. Let me know in the description below oops, which one is better I, think overall we're getting more detail with the Pixel 3a, but I think the 11pro Mac just looks a little more true to life.

This is a pretty ugly photo here we go here is a pretty one of the beach. So, as you can see, you only get one shot with the Google Pixel 3a and that really hurts, because with the iPhone 11 Pro Max I can go with the 12 millimeter ultra-wide lens to get everything the shot. I. Can get the sun's Sun in the background here? I can get these really cool, chem trails or whatever trails they are, and I can get the shoreline and I can get the beach not on the Pixel 3a. It's either the water or it's either the shoreline or it's either the Sun.

You have to choose between the three you have to choose between the three which one you want to capture, not the case on the iPhone 11 Pro Max. You can get some really exciting shots with that twelve millimeter lens on the 11pro max that you just cannot get with the Google Pixel 3a. Everything is pretty, pretty standard. With the Pixel 3a, like I said you only get one shot, you can sort of make it work, but you only get one shot. It just looks a little more rich and exciting on the iPhone 11 Pro Max here.

Also, it's more colorful. So when you're out in a well-lit environment, the iPhone 11 Pro max color accuracy is definitely going to outpace the Google Pixel 3a I. Think the sensors are a little newer, they're, probably a little wider than in the Pixel 3a. There's a fun and interesting photo with the Pixel 3a. Here is a really fun and interesting photo with the iPhone 11 Pro Max.

As you can see that 12 millimeter wide angle lens really looks awesome. It just makes photos, look so much more fun and interesting. Here is a nice. Like I said you only get one shot with the Google Pixel 3a, so you better make it a good one with the iPhone 11 Pro Max, you can go in and get a few different shots and make everything look fascinating. If you want no, that's not a good photo, and last but not least, this is a photo of a movie theater downtown, Fort Myers, you know just here, I'll show you guys a couple more photos.

That's a that's! A nice landscape shot there, we've got a nice landscape shot using the iPhone Pro max. Do I have another landscape shot? No, you just have. You can just have so much more fun with the 11pro max and I would even say that this photo looks it just pops on the 11pro max when compared to the pixel 3 a just in well-lit situations, you're going to get a better color reproduction on the 11pro max when compared to the pixel 3, a so anyways guys that wraps it up. In conclusion, I would have to say that the phones are pretty much, even especially when you consider the price point of each device, the pixel 3 a starts at 399, the iPhone 11 Pro Mac starts at 1099, it's much more expensive than the pixel 3 a only get one opportunity to take a good photo, but with all that software and with all those different features that you get that make it really easy to use this camera. There aren't really a lot of Pro features on the pixel 3/8, it's sort of just point and shoot, and let the software algorithms take over you're, pretty much going to nail a good picture every single time and get a good one at that with the Pixel 3a, because you're going to get a lot of detail and stuff with this sensor.

This is a really nice sensor on a camera for a phone that goes for 399, but with the iPhone 11 Pro Max it's a little more forgiving you're getting those software features, and you're getting the option to shoot with three different cameras. So you get a little more. You get the software algorithms, and you get the Pro aspect of it, which is being able to choose between three different lenses: the ultra-wide, the telephoto and the standard. The telephoto is a 50 millimeter zoom lens. The ultra-wide is 12 millimeters and the standard is 27 millimeters, so you're getting more of an opportunity to take a good photo or an interesting photo, and you're just going to be able to get more angles and things of that nature.

With the iPhone 11 Pro Max, but both are perfect cameras. This phone can easily beat out the iPhone 11 Pro Max the iPhone 11 Pro Max and well-lit conditions. It has the better color reproduction over the Pixel 3a, but the Pixel 3a is just so much better for point-and-shoot than the iPhone 11 Pro Max. You really have to set this phone up. Anyways guys.

My name is John. This has been a comparison between the Pixel 3a and the 11pro max. The Pixel 3a is our best buy of 2019, and today it took on the 11pro max and I think did pretty well anyways, guys I, hope you enjoyed this video. My name is John. I will see you in the next one.
