Hey everyone marks quack here today. I want to talk a little about the age-old question, one of the hardest questions to answer in the world and that is the 11-inch iPad versus the 12.9-inch iPad. So this topic has been absolutely beaten to death. I think everyone is always asking, because you have a choice right, you can either choose the big iPad or you can choose a smaller iPad, which one you're going to go with. Most people will tell you, oh, it depends. It depends on who you are and what you value.
That is all true, but I do think having now owned both of these and used both of these extensively. I do have a winner in my book now before I tell you about the winner and the one I choose the most. Let me tell you that both of these are absolutely capable devices. I think the iPad is an incredible innovation. It's been around for a while and honestly, it's really the only tablet worth owning.
I know there's the Microsoft Surface out there, which is also great, but I think at the end of the day, when you talk about tablet, there's nothing that quite does it like the iPad and, yes, I may be a bit of an apple fanboy, but I truly do believe that when it comes to tablets, what else is there other than an iPad like? Are you getting the Samsung Galaxy stuff? Sorry, I don't want to disparage you if you are, but I tell you there's a reason the iPad is doing so well and maybe so many of these other tablets have just kind of disappeared into thin air. So I'm a huge fan of the iPad. I don't personally use it as a full-blown laptop replacement. I don't think anyone really does. Furthermore, I know they try.
Furthermore, I think a lot of people might substitute it as good as they can, but at some point, they're going to have to go back to the computer iPadOS macOS two entirely different beasts. Generally, I think you're really kind of neutering yourself by taking the iPad as your only device. The laptop still, I think, reigns supreme. There, but for most daily activities, I think the iPad is still the king. I mean we talk about media consumption, video photo reading the news internet surfing the iPad is the way to go, and I highly recommend purchasing either of the iPads now, which one do, I think wins in this battle between 12.9 and 11, and why do I even have both of these things ridiculous right here it is. I used to own this one, the 11.
, my fianc? says she wants an iPad, so I decided to get another iPad gift this to her, which one did I choose. Furthermore, I chose a 12.9. It was a risk because, honestly, I didn't I. I was really happy with this experience, so I thought, maybe you know, is this going to be okay or not? Is it going to be too heavy? The truth is between the two. I would choose almost every single time the 12.9 there's a couple of reasons. I believe that the 12.9 actually wins, though the first thing is that the benefit of the screen size is pretty gigantic and that's for multitude of things for media consumption. We're talking a significantly better movie television experience, YouTube experience.
I mean people even say when they're watching between kind of like the regular iPhone and the iPhone like max, that's a pretty small difference in size, but they feel like it's a big media consumption change. So if media consumption is your main thing, the size of this screen wise, it makes a huge difference. It's just more satisfying to me. Another thing: people are multitasking a lot more on their iPads than ever before. When you are multitasking, you need as much screen real estate as possible and having this much allows you to actually be able to kind of multitask having two screens up at the same time on an 11 inch versus a 12.9. It makes a difference.
I still think it's kind of small to be honest for, for like major multitasking, you still want like a monitor, or you want. I don't know at least a 15-inch laptop, but for what you get between these two, you do really get that ability to multitask with more comfort. There's. Also, this intangible of kind of, like which device do you feel better owning having being around with and to me pulling out the 12.9 inch. Some reason feels more hefty.
It feels more Luke. It feels I just prouder to own this device and I want to take it around with me more versus this. Furthermore, it's not a toy, but it's its. Furthermore, it feels less like a hefty thing. Furthermore, it feels less capable and that's a real thing too.
The way you perceive it the way you feel about it. I think that also matters now, of course. Obviously the trade-off here is that it is heavier and bigger, but the truth is when it comes to any bag. There are very few bags that can't fit this guy, but can fit the 11. , and maybe I'm speaking as a guy, maybe there are some purses and things like that, but any backpack any messenger bag most totes.
This guy is going to fit just fine, so really sizing wise, you're, not gonna, miss out much. Then it comes down to the weight too right. So wait. Oh, is this too heavy compared to 11. ? So, yes, there is a weight difference between the two, especially when you actually add the keyboard.
I do actually have the magic keyboard here, so I do have this whole contraption and yes uh. It is an amazing device, and it's expensive and so on. It does really add a ton of weight to this whole package. This is basically as heavy, if not heavier than a laptop at this point, so is that okay? Well, I would say that most people have become more and more used to carrying laptops in their backpack and when you take this keyboard off- and you just have the iPad, it is significantly lighter than a laptop and the 11, even though it is lighter than 12.9 isn't so much lighter that it's going to break anything here, we're talking about subtle differences, which I know matters but for the real estate of the screen. I say it's a trade-off.
That's well worth it also, I'm starting to think that apple is actually starting to invest more in the big iPad than a small iPad. Anyway- and I don't know if that's because of sales or if it's because they also believe that this is the more capable iPad, but I've heard of even bigger iPads coming out like more like 15 inches so overall, I absolutely recommend any iPad, especially the iPad Pro. I have the iPad Pro 12.9 as my main daily driver, but if you want the 11, also great machine highly recommended, but answering the age-old question 12.9 versus 11, my answer is 12.9 for the reasons I said. Maybe you agree with me. Maybe you don't, but those are my thoughts.
So thank you guys so much for watching. My name is mark quo. I will see you guys on the next one. You.
