iPad Pro 10.5 inch - Unboxing and First Look (4K 60P)

I have run errand here for Solo tech, and this is the new 10.5-inch iPad Pro. This is Apple's latest iPad Pro. That adds some features and comes in a little larger than the previous generation. Nine point seven inches at ten point: five inches for this one, so we're going to unbox this take a first look and then, after about a week or so I'll do a review on it after I've used it for some time. So this comes in at 6:49, for 64, gigabytes of storage and then goes up to 512, gigabytes of storage. So for 649 you get 64 for 749, you get 256 and then for 949 you get 512.

So it's kind of a strange incremental bump as we go up now. This particular one is a 256 gigabyte, Wi-Fi version and then, if you want to add cellular data and a GPS antenna, basically you'll bump up about a hundred and twenty-nine dollars on top of that, so this can get pretty expensive. So this is the Space Gray model. You do have a couple color choices like before, but we'll pop this out here and the specs in this are pretty impressive, so we'll set this aside and just like any iPad now you get a lightning cable, just like this, and you've got a power adapter, and this is a 12 watt power. Adapter, nothing fancy here! You can charge this more rapidly.

If you have an adapter, so you can charge it with USB-C and you also can get data transfer speeds that are a little more rapid, using USB-C as well. But again you have to buy an adapter for that. So it looks like there's a little of padding in here, but you've got your stickers and welcome to iPad Pro. So let me set this stuff aside, and we'll take a look at the device itself now. This is pretty impressive.

As far as the chipset goes, it's not only a ten point. Five inch display, but it's very bright. It's 600 nits, which is incredibly bright, and I'll, show you that next to a different iPad later, but it's a little different as far as the size of it. So now we have a ten point. Five inch display 600 nits brightness.

It retains two 2224 by six team 68 with 264 pixels per inch, and it's got an anti-reflective coating on it. It also has a hundred and twenty Hertz pro motion screen, and it's got a p3 wide, color granite, true tone, so it should be pretty impressive, so it looks just like any other iPad. Furthermore, it does have a 12 megapixel camera with an F 1.8 lens, just like the iPhone 7 and 7 plus do, and it also has optical image stabilization built in it's got a ten-hour battery and then on the front. We have a 7 megapixel camera with an F 2.2 lens on it. So it should be pretty impressive.

So, let's turn it on holding it down. It should boot up unless the battery's dead. No, there we go, and it's going to take a moment to boot. Up and I'll set it up as a new iPad and what we'll do is talk about. What's inside, while we wait for this to boot.

Up, let's talk about the chipset inside. It's an 8, NO system-on-a-chip. It's got a m10 integrated motion. Coprocessor, it's got whatever storage, you choose four gigabytes of RAM and, like I said you can get some pretty high-speed data transfers. So, let's click the button here, Oh English I'll connect to Wi-Fi and you can see the screen is a little different.

It's picking up the ambient light and adjusting for that we'll wait for it here. It may take a few minutes to activate now you can enable or disable location setup touch, ID, create a passcode, and then I'm going to set it up as a new iPad. So I'll agree to terms they will set up and to give you a size comparison. Let's wait for this to boot up and set up what I have here is the non iPad Pro. This is the latest generation iPad, that's not the pro, so we've got the two 2017 iPads.

Basically, let me turn this one on. So you can get an idea of what it looks like now. Immediately you'll see the display differences. This one is trying to make paper look like paper. This one doesn't have that adaptive display this one has the pixels right on the screen.

There's no gap or anything here, there's a gap, so we're waiting for this one to boot. Up you'll see this one's booted up already, and it's a little smaller. It's the same size as an iPad Pro nine point: seven inch, the nine point. Seven inches is no longer pretty much, and this is the iPad Air replacement it seems like for now. So we have this iPad.

They just call iPad and we have iPad Pro. We also have a larger version, that's the same as the previous generation as far as size and what it looks like now. I've brought all iPads in, and you can see. Here's an iPad from 2017, the new iPad Pro the old iPad Pro 12.9. So these are the size differences offered today.

So we have a nice little bigger iPad in the middle, and then we have a huge iPad and a normal iPad, this one's really inexpensive. This gets about double the price and this one's even more. If you want the bigger screen about a hundred dollars more or even more than that, depending on what setup you go with as far as its configuration I've got all the displays set to full brightness, so you get an idea of what it looks like between all three of them: they're all full brightness here, and you'll, see they all look pretty good, but there's an obvious standout here to me with the new iPad Pro they all look pretty good, but something's different about this one. As far as the way, the display looks they're all pretty bright, but this one's definitely brighter again. So that's the size comparison.

Let's take a look at what the screen looks like I'm, recording this in 4k 60 frames per second. So let's see what that looks like when we're scrolling to show you another comparison. I have both of these devices at full brightness on this on the display. Now let me turn on auto brightness, and you'll see that they're about the same brightness. Let me turn them up a little and then this one has true tones.

So let me turn that on to give you an idea what that looks like it looks at the light in the room and adjusts for it to make it nicer on your eyes. So let's turn that off we'll go back home, we'll go into a web browser and let's see what this looks like here, we'll go to Apple and see the scrolling, and immediately I see the difference. I, don't know if you can see it I'm recording this info k60. So we can hopefully see this, but let's go home pod here, and this display just looks incredibly nice and much better than the less expensive iPad, and you would expect that from the pro and aside from this, you can also use the pencil on the pro display, but let's scroll, this is just so much smoother on the right in the display looks amazing. So that's pretty impressive I'm going to continue to use this iPad for some time and see what it's like.

This also has four speakers, two on the front or a top two on the bottom. You've got your headphone jack still, thankfully, microphone, and it should be nice to use I need to get a cover for it. I did order the slip case, which is really expensive. It's a hundred and twenty-nine dollars for a leather slip case we'll see how that goes. I may have to get rid of that.

That seems a little excessive, so I'll take a look at this for the next week or so. If there's anything, you want to see specifically I'll be using it to draw on things like that with the pencil. If there's anything you want to see specifically, though let me know in the comments below I'd love, to show you something- maybe you haven't seen elsewhere if you haven't subscribed already, though, please subscribe and like as always thanks for watching this is Erin I'll see you next time.
