iPad Air Unboxing And Review: Still Good Still The Same

Today I have the new iPad Air inside the box. We've got the iPad itself, maybe got some instruction. Pamphlets throw these in the trash, got your lightning connector for charging and your power break and that's pretty much it right now. The iPad lineup is pretty complicated at the high end of things. You have the two iPad Pro models and at the low end you have the original iPad now there's the new iPad Air and the iPad Mini, which slot right in the middle. First, let's go ahead and take a look at the specs.

The iPad Air starts a $4.99 for the 64 gigabyte version. This is the 256 gigabyte version, so it goes for 649 with the iPad Air. You get a ten point. Five inches laminated true tone display, which is a big step up from the regular iPads 9.7 inch non laminated display. The laminated display means that there's almost no gap between where you are touching, and the pixels are, and this provides for a much better user experience.

There is an 12 Bionic chip, the same that you'll find in the iPhone 10 s and 10 our touch ID. Amazingly still, a headphone jack, lightning connector for charging support for the first generation Apple Pencil, which means first generation charging, unfortunately, compatibility with the Apple smart, Keyboard, 10 hours of battery life on a single charge, front and rear cameras which I won't get into the specs of. If you're, that person taking pictures with your iPad. Please stop if you've used an iPad at any time over the last couple of years, you're going to feel right at home. Here not much has changed with iOS, and it still has the same strengths and limitations as before.

No the iPad Air is not going to replace your laptop. Not even the iPad Pro can do that. Yet the new, a 12 biotic chip in here, makes everything feel very snappy, especially multitasking performance in games is great, pushing out some very nice visuals. The display is definitely a bump up from the regular iPad, but doesn't come anywhere near the display of the iPad Pro, with its high refresh rate and pro motion technology. The true tone technology works quite well.

Changing the color temperature, depending on the lighting of your room battery life, is also excellent. With the mixture of surfing watching videos and very light, gaming I was able to get over 10 hours on a single charge. The speakers on the new iPad Air are decent, and they get very loud, but the sound quality isn't amazing. Also, the placement of the speakers is a little strange because it's easily covered up when you're holding the iPad horizontally and the sound can get pretty distorted easily, but I'm, not a fan of. Are these huge bezels on the top and on the bottom the design looks very dated considering this is essentially the same as the original iPad Air, which debuted in 2013.

Now in 2019, it looks especially old, especially when you compare it next to the iPad pros. So should you buy the iPad Air if you've bought an iPad within the last few years? The answer is most. Definitely no. If you are in the market for a new tablet, and you're mainly going to be doing web surfing and watching some videos, I'd say you should look into the regular nine point. Seven-inch iPad because that frequently goes on sale for around $250, which is half the price of this.

If you're planning on doing a lot of typing- and you want the smart keyboard support, or you want to sketch and need the Apple Pencil, then I'd say this is a pretty good buy because you won't have to shell out the $7.99, which is the starting price for the iPad Pro just don't expect anything too groundbreaking or new. Here Apple has played it very safe and that's it for me. Remember if you like what you see bite that subscribe button.
