Introducing Xperia Pro - Mobile World Congress 2011 By sonyericsson

You, my name is Pergolas I'm, the product manager for Xperia Pro, we're developing this product in Japan, where I'm also based, and we're here at the Mobile World Congress, and I'd like to show you a little about the phone. So I'd like to start by showing you the hardware. As you can see, it's got a concave back here and when I slide out the keyboard, it's actually made to be to have a very good ergonomic fit in your hand, because we know that the use is that by this phone will be heavy textures and people who use this for business. As you can see, the keyboard is very nicely designed as well. We have been using the x10 mini pro as a reference when designing this keyboard- and we put a lot of time into actually optimizing the space from the slider and a click filling of the Kiel's, the tactile feeling of the whole keyboard, because we know that our use of really using this very heavily. Now in this phone as well, we are putting in several useful widgets, for example, in the email UI.

This is something that we Sony Ericsson have done on top of Android 2.3 Gingerbread, you have it. You have a slidable scroll bar here, so you can actually really set up the email I mean how you want to see it. If you just want to see that the headers of the email or, if you want to have the preview of the actual email and because we have a hardware keyboard on this one, we have introduced a feature called smart keyboard, and this is quite into intuitive feature. That will actually react to you popping up the keyboard in different given situations. So, for example, as you can see now, I'm looking at this email and I pop up the keyboard, and it will automatically understand that I want to reply all or forward.

So this is just to help you to get very quick and very intuitive interaction with the phone itself, and now I can just start typing away here will directly go into my email. I can just type away, and this is not only in the email it's actually put in the calendar as well. It's also put into Timescale we're also putting some productivity features in this one, such as an office suite pro. This is actually the full version, we're bundling in the phone. So when our customers buy this, they will immediately be able to open and actually edit Word documents and Excel documents as well.

So I can just show you quickly here. This is a document about Ex moor or the camera sensor we have in our new experiences. So in here this is a Word document and I can just go into edit mode, for example, and delete or type in Excel. You can do macros as well, if you're into that, and you can also view PowerPoint presentations, and that is excellent because we do have an HDMI output here. So if you, if you are actually using the phone as a business phone, maybe you can skip your heavy notebook to the next meeting and actually play it on the HDMI enabled TV or projector.
