Infinix Hot 10T Unboxing and Review - Watch this before you buy!

Well, that was a partial unboxing, we'll get into the rest of it shortly. What is up guys, the name is Izzi and welcome to the channel. So, we are looking at the Infinix Hot 10t, a budget device from Infinix which has just launched. It packs some interesting specifications most notable being a 90hz refresh rate and a Mediatek Helio G70 chipset. I actually never expected to see 90hz refresh rate at the price this device is coming at, and most especially not on a 720p display, but here we are. Speaking of price, this one is going for about 64,500 naira for the 64 gig storage option and 72,000 naira for the 128 gig option.

Alright, let's finish with the unboxing. The Infinix Hot 10t comes bundled with complete accessories. When I opened the first pack, for a second I thought I got a dollar inside the box but it was actually an x-club invitation. Well, you also get an x-park leaflet, a film screen protector and a protective casing which is quite light, not the rubber type but it fits in firmly and it barely adds to the device weight. You also get the charging brick and a usb cable, a micro usb cable.

I thought we agreed to leave micro usb in 2020. Also bundled in the box is a pair of earphones. That is all you get in the box of the Infinix Hot 10t. The Infinix Hot 10t is not to be confused with the Hot 10s which is unlikely to be available for this region the. Hot 10t has a patterned rear design but a glossy finish.

It comes in a couple of color options, this one is called Heart of the Ocean. I guess that's another way of saying blue. The Infinix Hot 10t is a massive 6.8 inches device and it feels a bit narrow. Still on its build and design, it is a plastic rear and a glass display. It has a triple camera setup to the top left of the rear in a slight square bump.

Just beneath the bump you have the quad LED flash. There is also a dual LED flash atop the display. There is a fingerprint scanner on the rear and it is very responsive and as fast as you would expect of a physical fingerprint scanner. All buttons and ports are in their expected positions, nothing has changed not even the usb port. The headphone jack is still here thankfully.

The Hot 10T has a bottom firing mono speaker. On the sim slot it accepts dual nano sim cards and an sd card for expandable storage. The Hot 10T goes back to a waterdrop notch style for its selfie camera as opposed to a left hole punch camera which we had on the Infinix Hot 10 from last year. I'm sensing some 2019 vibes, thankfully that has nothing to do with the device performance. The display on the Infinix Hot 10t is a 720p TFT display, quite tall at 6.82 inches. Even with big hands you'll need both hands when operating this device.

The display is big enough to provide you with enjoyable media experience. It doesn't have stereo speakers but its mono speaker is loud enough. I mentioned earlier that I did not expect to see 90 hertz refresh rate at this price point and especially not on a 720p display. It is quite interesting to see that you don't need to break the bank to experience 90 hertz. It isn't the best 90 hertz experience I've had but it is definitely ahead of the competition at this price point.

I've not had this device long enough to be able to confirm just how well 90hz is going to fare over time as this device is used more extensively. It will be quite interesting to see. The software on the Infinix Hot 10T is Android 11 and Infinix XOS 7.6 which brings some improvements and new features alongside its bloatwares of course which you'll spend some time uninstalling and disabling for a better experience. With XOS 7.6 you can now schedule dark mode to come on and off automatically. This was not possible with previous versions of XOS.

Another new feature you get is peek proof. This darkens selected parts of your display to prevent someone else from seeing details while you operate your device. This is going to come in handy if you're operating your phone inside a bus or you're in a crowded place and someone is trying to see what you're doing on your phone. There are other features on XOS 7.6 which will hopefully be covered in another review. It is nice to see Android 11 on here but XOS needs cleanup and a revamp.

The Infinix Hot 10t comes in two storage options, 64 and 128 gigabytes, both with 4 gigs of RAM. For its processor it is running the Mediatek Helio G70 which guarantees you some decent level of gaming here. The benchmark scores on antutu and geekbench are quite impressive. This is the 4 gig variant of the Infinix Hot 10t and I've only had it for about 48 hours and so far for its price, performance has been well up to expectations. Depending on what apps you have running, the 4GB variant will be able to retain at least four apps in memory for some time without closing them.

The Infinix Hot 10t handles gaming quite well as you would expect of the Helio G70 complemented by 90hz refresh rate. I played PUBG for about 30 minutes and did not experience any lags or abnormal heating. You can play PUBG on HD and high frame rates. It is still too early to give a verdict on the battery life of the Infinix Hot 10t but it's a 5000 mah battery and if all things being equal it is expected to last you at least a whole day on a full charge. In my experience however I've only charged it once since I've had it, that is in 48 hours of course.

Now what is discouraging is the fact that there is no fast charging, so expect to charge this for up to three hours if it is completely drained. The Hot 10t has an 8 megapixel selfie camera in a waterdrop notch that is lower than the 16 megapixel selfie camera we got on the Hot 10. Its triple rear cameras comprises of a 48 megapixel main camera, a 2 megapixel camera not sure what it is for, probably depth or QVGA and the third is an AI lens. There is no ultra-wide or macro camera here. I was able to take a couple of pictures and I can say for its price, not bad at all but I'm going to let you be the judge.

Rate these photos on a scale of 1 to 10. The Infinix Hot 10t is able to record in 2k that is 1440p from both its selfie and rear cameras, there is no stabilization. What I find most interesting about the Infinix Hot 10t is the 90hz refresh rate and on a 720p display. Also, it is great to see that we've gone past the era of Helio A22 and P22 processors. If you're looking to experience 90hz on a budget and some decent level of gaming, the Infinix Hot 10T checks out.

But I'm still not a fan of the software and also the continued use of micro usb. So, what are your thoughts on Infinix Hot 10t? Let us know in the comments section. If you've made it this far into this video, a thumbs up and a sub to the channel will be very much appreciated. Catch you in the next one, Peace...
