Meizu Pro 6S Unboxing And First Look

Today I have another first tear for me. This is the missile pro 6s. The first message phone that I will be looking at now heard: good things about them. So this model here has the Hello x.25 with MAL ET, 880 GPU, four gigabytes of RAM- and this is the 64 gigabyte model. I pick this up here from AliExpress. So apparently, in this model the camera has changed.

It's now a 12 megapixel sensor and has a slightly larger battery too. So the battery capacity has increased to three thousand six hundred million powers. A 3060, sorry so well packaged up here now. I didn't have to pay taxes on this because it did come with DHL. So that's normal! This happens every time.

I've never had anything not be stopped for taxes with DHL, at least here in Spain. Now it's running Android 6, and it has their fly me. Custom OS, which is something I, have never used before so hopefully, I can get used to that quickly. So the seller included a screen protector. Well, two of them.

This is a different one here, but I'm not too sure why that is below. Maybe it's just the top coat, or it could be style. An u. s. two-prong, 2 euro adapters, of course, I'm going to need that, because all these charges are the two prongs style out of China, and I've included some other bits and pieces here a case and some sort of cable another junk that I will probably just put that end of in oh and even some cheap headphones.

That will probably sound like junk okay, so they've included lots of little things in there that really I don't need, but just to try and sweeten the deal. So there we go pro 6s. Quite a nice box. That's made out of it's made out of plastic. Now the seller I think they did open this well, they should have because they were going to install Google Play for me.

So it looks like that. Just folds back and that is I, see quite nicely presented there. The way they have packaged that up so charger, of course. Okay. So that's rated to 12 volts, 2 amps as the highest charging output you get from that alright.

So the phone has a protective wrap on there, and you can see that I went for the black version. Of course, here I'm a little tired of all the white phones with the white face on them that tend to make the bezels look a bit larger on the screen left and right. So I'll just get these protectors off it, and you see there that front-facing fingerprint reader. We have a 5 megapixel camera there in the front. Now this has an aperture of 2.0, the rear camera that one has an aperture of 2.2, so slightly different, and we'll see, there's that ring flash. They have the LED rings, so it's actually made up of various tiny little LEDs in there now the camera I can see it protrudes.

Probably by about one millimeter, you can see, sticks out a little buttons on the right-hand side. These are made out of metal, build quality seems perfect nice and rounded off there. Those edges and along the bottom 3.5 millimeter headphone jack torque screws, USB type-c port. Now this is also USB 3.1. According to one of their press release images there the loudspeaker this little hole there, of course, is for microphone, so just get that powered on and small little vibration and there's the logo else we get here in the box.

You can see there's a symmetry tool, I'll take a look at the SIM tray in just a minute or so in this video just have a look and see what kind of size Sims it takes with its NATO or normal since there I take it. There probably be some instruction stuff here are there's a VIP card and warranty card and what I can see that that is in Chinese. And what else do we have in here? Nothing, there's just a gap. There I, don't know what that was meant to be. Some hit hits it.

Maybe who knows okay, so just to check out the weight of it so 167 grams, that's not too bad I mean slightly heavier, maybe because of the build of it, but build quality. Yeah, really nice very smooth. Those antenna lines, though along the top here that is very familiar. That looks just like an iPhone's okay, so I've just piled it on. It's come straight into the fly me UI.

Now, we've never used this UI before, so I'm not used to it. I've just noticed that I don't have back or menu keys on it. Now, I don't know actually whether they are there or I need to enable them or not, but the home button is working, and it also clicks down. That also doubles, of course, as a fingerprint reader, which I will just check out so in the settings here, we've got the typical standard menu layout this at least as familiar as an Android user. You can probably make you well around that quite good, so there's the battery information, a power mode does actually have balance and performance and saving, but I'll just keep it on balance, and I'm heading to go back here.

That is really weird white way. Why do we have no back button? So everything is just going to be going through multitasking I guess if we think that's the way to get out of everything and that's what they want you do. So here are the toggles typical toggles. Here's we've got the auto brightness mode. Flashlights smart touch huh, it's my touch.

What is that now that does apparently have this 3d touch thing like I can feel a vibration there, but apparently 3d touch I'm, not to sure whether that is the smart touch, but this is so unusual having no back button. So it is smart touch. Okay, tap, hold move, slow, right, mm; okay, so this is the smart touch, yeah all right, I'm, going to just going to disable that one for now and sit along here. That is okay. That's the browser.

I keep going to hit the back button, I'm, not sure whether I like that. So here we have the camera, of course, so I just take a quick photo. I'll go outside and just to see going to take some photos, while I still have a little of daylight. The weather has been terrible here at the moment, so not perfect for taking photos, so it naturally starts up in auto mode. But here we have manual mode, so manual mode gives us a second zero ready, but got the exposure setting ISO manual focus and exposure compensation.

Getting out of that, we do have slo-mo a slo-mo wonder what resolution depth goes up to well, it doesn't actually mention there and over back into video mode, so video mode here, video size that that goes all the way up to 4k on the rear-facing camera and then up to 1080p on the front-facing camera, which is good, so I'm. Finding this phone is so awkward not having that back button there. Okay, so get out of that deer on have a look to at how the fingerprint reader works, which will probably be right here, so I'm going to have to set up a password first before I. Do that and a very easy one? Okay so place my finger so just to be the typical got to do this about ten times: okay, lock it! No, it looks like it's at it. I have to wake it first and then unlock, so it's not like other phones, for example like the VEVO x9.

That I have right here with me that one all you need to do is this place, my phone there, and it booms and unlocks straightaway, which is what I prefer this now you must definitely wake the phone, and then it works well. At least it's working good though yeah, okay, so things back button is always going to be just the one tap and then clicking down that will take me to home. I think Play Store has been installed. Seller has put that on there for me, and we also have some Chinese junky bloody web applications, but I will uninstall. Most of those I can look like you can get rid of literally all of it.

Timor don't need those, so that at least is good so that your way to fly me, you always got to take a while to get used. You can see there is some Chinese characters along here, so this is the weather app that doesn't seem to have fully converted over to English, which is annoying, so we're going to have widgets as widgets and applications all-in-one. So if I put the weather back here or this one, no free space, it looks like that the weather widget is differently only really in Chinese. So that is not good. I have to find another third-party one.

So here we have the dialer. Will that have any Chinese contacts? Well, we've got the Miku contact. Their yellow pages will probably come out all in Chinese. Well, no, it hasn't actually and then the dialer there. Okay, so really not much to look at now when it comes to the UI we'll need to test that out fully, but so far I mean the performance of that seems good.

So, let's have a look at the performance of the rear and front facing cameras very quickly, so as a sample shot in 4k, that's the maximum! You can record, so the rear camera has an aperture of F to point to, and I'll test out and see if it does actually have autofocus in video mode looks like it does. Unfortunately, not really a good weather here at the moment seems really fast, so things look a little grim and cloudy because it has actually just been raining literally all week, she's a kind of unusual for this area, because it only is just like sunshine all the time, so it seems alright and just notice that the focus has sometimes pulsing in and out. Yes, it is actually, so that isn't good to see. That's a very common problem on these cheaper Chinese mobiles, so I'll, swap over now to the front-facing camera. We'll have a look at the video quality.

So here's a front-facing camera, it's a 5 megapixel unit as an aperture of f2 point 0 is slightly different from the rear camera. So far the quality seems fine weather conditions, as mentioned, and particularly good at the moment, but the frame rate, it seems quick. It seems fast, and it's capturing my face quite well there, but I'll check that out later on, when some better lighting conditions like daylight and things in the full review and reserve. My judgment until I have used this smile a lot more. This is just a first impression here you and just to check the thickness of it.

So it comes in at 7.5 millimeters, which is perfect, but where that camera bump is, is 8.25, so it does stick out a little there. So here is the cemetery and, yes, it does take to NATO since there, unfortunately, no micro SD card support, which is a shame. It's a very quick look at the screen here know those scan lines that you're seeing that are just running up and down the screen. That is only on camera. Now the viewing angles all of us are perfect.

I PS display and I did notice that ? that the corner of the glass just around here, so all the edges are 2.5 D, rounded edges, which is a nice touch there. The screen doesn't look that bad at all to me very nice panel. They have used and honestly really don't find that many bad panels now being used in mobile phones, they're, normally 1080p ones, IPs and the quality of this one looks quite good and again that shimmering that effect, you're, seeing that's just on camera. Here's a look at the keyboard that is part of the fly me is actually quite a nice keyboard layout as good typing on. It seems perfect, not bad, so it has a loudspeaker just down here on the bottom.

I'm going to play a track here from carbon-based life-forms, and we have a listen to how loud it sounds you so to me that sounds alright. There's a tiny little of bass in there, some meds are the volume. Isn't the loudest I have heard, but it seems to be adequate. Multitasking with flame is a little different. You have to do a swipe up gesture, and then you can go through your different apps there, so you can close individual ones swap to them or just close them all its a different way of doing it and well it works it's going to take a little while for me to get used to this okay.

So that's my unboxing there, my first impressions of the menu Pro success here, good the build quality, very, very nice. This is premium feeling mobile in hand. Okay, it's a little heavier, but that adds to more of a quality feel to it. The way it's finished, the edges. Everything is really well done.

Now. The camera performance I have to check that in a more detail. Today is quite a bad day. We just had awful weather for the last couple of weeks here in Spain, so it's very hard for me to get any kind of decent images with better lighting conditions. So when the Sun comes out, I'll get some good photos and videos up and the full review at least now the UI I can't say: I like it too much so fast.

With my first experience with it fly me, doesn't have any back or menu buttons or Lisa. This model doesn't with AMIS zoos, so everything I think is just going to be multitasking with most apps you're, not actually exiting out of them or maybe tapping home once it will exit out of it. But it's something to get used to like a print reader as well. You need to actually wait the device before you can unlock it. It's not just a straight unlock like others, which is I, don't know a slight annoyance and the fact that we have Chinese 2 in the operating system and the launch of the skin they've used that we can't get rid of so some widgets just do not convert either to English from Chinese, which is a little annoying there.

So that's something to bear in mind that you're going to have a bit of a learning curve with this, this new OS at least I will here, so we'll be back later on with some benchmarks. Gaming tests and a proper camera review is well, that's all going to be in the full review. So hopefully I will see you back. Then. If you are interested in the Mizzou pro is 6's here.

Thank you. So much for watching see you soon.
