Hands-on FINALLY Answers Our Sony Xperia 1 III Questions!

This channel isn't about me. If it was about me, it would be called something like super tom or tom HD or Tom's, the boss, or something like that. It isn't. It's called Sony 365, because I'm passionate about Sony and if you love Sony as much as we do here, bob the bonsai- and I have to go to this point in the video or ideally watch the whole thing, because there's something we can all do at this point that could massively help Sony and help us preserve the Xperia brand that we love so much so check that out and anyway, let's get on with this video right now. Now I wanted to be the know, the first person to show you this with you know, with the one mark three and the five mark iii in the studio here, but we've been beaten to it. But let's look at this amazing footage that now exists on YouTube and finally answer some of these questions that have been lingering for a while.

So while this b-roll is running here, showing off the one mark iii in all its glory, I want to point out here we are here's the channel here. It's really important to credit YouTube channels that manage to get this original content and give them the props they deserve. Do check out their channels. I'll put the links in the description below there's a lot of fake videos out there, claiming to be one mark iii, uh, hands-on reviews really rude. I hate that kind of thing, so you know the people that get this, let's give them props, and I also want to now jump to this chap here in Russia.

Luckily, someone has put this into English subtitles. So a lot of what I'm going to tell you now you can also see on his video. He goes into a lot of detail. He seems like a really not just knowledgeable guy, but really nice guy. I like the way he comes across here.

I definitely recommend checking out his channel okay. So look the matte look on the one mark iii is a hands-down winner. I think it's safe to say one of the things that hadn't come up in any previous videos. That I'm really happy to see here is that the fingerprint scanner is now also matte, which hopefully, will give even better results. I know that um, where I live, there is a rainy season, and sometimes it can be difficult with the uh, the one mark ii that I have if it's raining and the hands get wet that should help.

I look forward to trying that overall, the design it really is absolutely a winner. The camera bump is obviously a bit bigger and that's obviously because of the new world first technology that we have in there I'm going to come on to that in a little here. The other great news here regarding buttons is the Google Assistant button. It can be remapped, I'm so happy to hear that that's just wonderful news, and it seems to be pretty much flush there. I don't think anyone's going to be hitting that accidentally.

That's great other good news in terms of the buttons the dedicated two-stage shutter button here. Has that beautiful textured finish. I have to say this is looking great, but for me the best news. That's come out of what we've seen in some of these videos popping up now in like this one here in Russia is, you can do 4k and 120 hertz. At the same time, I was really concerned like genuinely worried that wouldn't be possible and people would get kind of bent out of shape about that, but it is possible.

You can force it. You can bring the resolution down. If you want to- or you know, reduce the refresh rate down to 60. But point is you can do both, so it is genuine world first technology here, that's a massive deal for Sony fans for exterior fans. It's just a nice way of saying to the industry.

You know this is what we do and uh we're setting standards. I love it. Okay, so now let's concentrate on this camera bump. Here it's obviously bigger. It still looks very classy and minimalist.

I love the fact that they don't go overboard here when these camera bumps are designed beautiful, mass branding here, of course, very clean. Looking the world first technology. Of course here is the variable telephoto, as I said before, and this is backed up in this video here from this event in Russia, the zoom, the level of Zoom isn't going to be s21 ultra, but you will not get the drop off in quality that goes with that sort of crazy, crazy, zoom either. So it's a nice balance, that's been struck here. The other main reason to get excited is this autofocus.

The autofocus on the one mark iii. Here is just absolutely mind-blowing, and it's wonderful to see this alpha technology being showcased here in such a way. This actually feels almost more like a concept phone than just a regular flagship. It's really something to behold. I can't wait until we have it here in the studio.

So what we can see from this video here is that the chap is very, very impressed with the both. It's definitely looking really impressive here. The stabilization has been improved. The smooth zoom he demos that nicely as well. That's looking pretty cool.

I have to say it's also worth mentioning that the new camera app does include the photo pro app within it and that's a great move. I'm really happy. That's been done overall. This is looking very, very cool now, if you've seen my videos before you'll know that there were a few things. I was really concerned about that could kind of make this whole thing dampen the fire somewhat.

One of them was the front-facing camera, but it seems we're in good shape there as well, because, although it looks in terms of the raw specs on the spec sheet very similar to last time around which- and I said before, the one mark ii- front-facing cameras pants, this one looks better again. I don't want to go into too much detail here until we have one of these one mark iii's in the studio, but again just the fact that it's been tweaked and improved and gives better results according to the ERP here, that's great, but what were the other concerns, so overheating you've probably seen with the Xiaomi mi 11? This is you know, with the triple eight I mean we are seeing instances where seriously powerful flagships now can overheat and going back in time with Xperia phones. That has been a thing before early reports bubbling up in little pockets of the internet are showing that actually we're not having these problems here with the one mark iii and the other good news is that the battery is coping much better than expected. It's obviously jumped up to 4 500 William hours. It was 4 000 before with the one mark ii, so that's encouraging as well.

The other thing, of course, we've said this before charging 30 watts, 21 watts. I think it was before okay, it's not crazy fast, but, as we know, Sony loves to look after the battery for you for the long term, so it would have been weird if you think about it, for Sony to suddenly drop that philosophy. I'm pleased they haven't. So there you go. These are the best bits of b-roll uh.

The best footage I can find of the one mark iii, I'm so excited what could possibly go wrong. This is shaping up so well, oh yeah, it's not for sale, it's not for say you can't buy it. There's that so other than the little detail there. The small detail that this is impossible to buy and no one really knows when it's going to be available for pre-order other than that small detail. We're in great shape come on Sony.

We've got to get this on sale, and we have to do it soon. Okay, so here's what I've managed to find so far. It looks as though it'll go on sale or maybe this is a pre-order date. I don't know, May 20th in China um I'm also hearing that July 20th in Russia, according to our friend ERP, but then I've also seen b h photo and American retailers are talking about august, although I suspect that's just a placeholder, while they're waiting for the exact date, please don't keep us in suspense any longer Sony just give us the information and let's get this phone on sale and I think it could be a real success, but talking of success, one of our commenters here, Mr Benoit Blanc. Thank you ever so much for your comment suggested something that could really help us grow the channel, and it's all about the community tab.

So what I'm going to do is ask for your support. I'm cooking up a plan here. I don't know how much detail I should go into right now, but its something called the global Xperia alliance, and it all starts with us on the community tab right here, starting now, I'm going to do this super regularly, and I really want your contribution. That would mean the world to me. If you can like and comment in all of these videos and regularly check the community tab, I think we can grow this channel and with the global Xperia alliance that I'm putting together, we can do something absolutely amazing for Sony, and I know that we all want Xperia to do well and for Sony to sell more Xperia phones.

We can do something very cool here, so that's it from me. I hope you've enjoyed this video I'll, see you over at the community tab and also make sure you follow me on Twitter and Instagram for breaking Sony news and fun stuff foreign.
