Google Pixel 4a Unboxing!

Well you guys already know what time it is. I got the Google Pixel 4a, somehow google actually sent it out to me. Thank you for them. They didn't sponsor any videos literally, which is really, really great. If you guys remember last year with the Google Pixel 4, google also sent me out that phone early on and what's funny is, is that I don't think I've ever hated or, like said more mean things to a phone. Unlike the pixel 4.

, there's only two models of the Pixel 4 XL, where there are three models of the 7 pro, but the base model storage is 128 gigs, so the base model of the 1.7 pro is already higher than the top tier model of the Pixel 4 XL, which is insane, and the fact of the matter is, is that for some reason google has still not opted in for 4k at 60 frames per second, where even a phone that sells for you know way less than the Pixel 4 XL brand new can still do 4k 60 frames, and I was pretty sure they would never send me another phone, but they did which is really nice. So all these opinions are mine. So keep that in mind, like literally I can say anything about this phone, but I find it really cool that google is willing to still send these things out to people who are so critical on their devices. If this phone is trash, I'll definitely say it. But the great thing about this phone is that it is 350 as a starting price which does undercut the iPhone SE 2 with also the OnePlus word.

So you do have to keep that in mind. You have to keep the price of the phone in mind so thickness wise. I mean you guys, don't care. Let me just go ahead and box it, as you guys know, I'll, be doing a ton of comparisons coming up. So let's go ahead and unbox this bad boy like, so it takes a while for these things to come out there we go, and immediately we see that this color of this phone is actually really, really nice.

I know it's kind of hard to see because it's completely black, let me go ahead and take this out for you weirdos now I'll go ahead and power up this phone for the time being and just put it to the side. So the power button is up here, and I'll talk about the phone. Very, very briefly. In a second, let me go and power that bad boy. On now, inside the box, you have, you know, a little pamphlet, which is really, really cool.

You have the symmetric tool and all that other stuff, you have the power brick, which is fascinating because Apple is said to take out the power version. I'm going to take this thing out. Apple is going to take away it, but this is a fast charger as far as I believe, which is really cool. It also has the USB type-c cable, as well as an USB c, to USA type thing right here too, so that's really cool other than that. That's perfect in the box, and I just realized that made it sound like a huge deal that they put these things in here.

It's really not it's just a charger now, in the meantime, the phone did boot up. So let's go and take a look at this thing. Now we do have the Pixel 3a, which I'll go and show you guys. Now. This is the Pixel 3a from last year now size wise.

You can see that it is a little smaller. I think I'm pretty sure this is the three. Hopefully it's not the 3xl, but as you can see, it is definitely smaller than the 3a, but you can see there's way less bezel on the Google Pixel 4 8. So keep that in mind as well. Now before I get too deep in the phone itself, looking around the device, as you can see, we have the USB type c port down here, nothing on the left side on the top.

You do have a headphone jack, which is very surprising, and I just find it crazy that they still put it there for that price. On the right side, you do have the power buttons. Now they don't really feel like the best power buttons in the world. So I'll keep that in mind, but really not too, that you know it's really not that big of a deal I mean you're going to put a case on it, and I mean I don't know. I mean it kind of is a big deal, but I don't know its kind of that middle point.

Nothing else on the sides and on the back you can see single camera setup and the flash up top, but the way they put it on there. It honestly doesn't look like a single camera setup. I know it looks so weird, but that's honestly kind of funny kind of quirky I mean I wish that I had more than one camera sensor, but for a hundred and fifty dollars I would still rather take one perfect camera than like three cameras that has like a one megapixel ultra-wide and like whatever, and as you can see, you do have that single camera setup up top, which I think is a huge step upcoming even from the pixel 4 series, like the fact that the pixel 5 will probably also have some type of technology like this, you know it's going to be really cool for a phone. That's completely stock android, now I'll go ahead and quickly go through this whole entire setup. So I don't have to like log in or anything and so far it really doesn't seem too slow and there we go we're already into it.

Now. This thing does have a 5.8 inch, one screen of its front. I noticed that they're really weird, and it is an OLA display which is really nice now it's not a bad looking OLED like I'm looking at it from a weird angle, so the viewing angles really aren't too bad. I'm kind of surprised about that, but don't expect to get like a 120 hertz. You know Samsung Galaxy s20 ultra display on this is not going to be the case, but for 1080p display.

I really don't think it's too bad and the fact that it is OLED makes it that much better. You are getting that Qualcomm snapdragon 730 processors in here, so keep that in mind an autocore CPU and arena 618 GPU and there's only one storage model, the 128 gig model with six gigs of ram. So that might be the only issue with the storage. You know what that is, but it is a lower storage, there's, no micro, SD card slot in here, so you're kind of stuck there. But again, I think google purposely makes these phones so that they can go and push more people to buy.

Google Drive, I honestly think that's what it is performance wise I mean, I honestly don't have an opinion on it, keep a lock-down on the channel, though, because tomorrow, I'm going to be making a ton of comparisons. Probably, but I think for the most part I mean it's not a bad phone, I don't think for the price like if they were selling this for like more than 600 dollars. I think there would be a pretty big ripoff, considering the OnePlus series of devices as well, but for 350 brand new. I really don't think google, you know, made a bad phone or anything like that and I honestly think they're a series of devices with the Pixel 3a and all those. They do a really, really good job on those phones, and I think overall, I think the pixel 3 is going to do it's going to be a pretty good device.

I think it's going to sell really well as well, and we'll go and hit on the camera extremely quickly as well might as well. Now it does have a single 12 megapixel camera on the back, and this is not a full review at all. This is going to be a really, really bad review, but honestly it really doesn't look too bad. I mean again, this is like horrible, because this is awful lighting and everything, but it really doesn't look too bad. You know once I do my full comparisons.

I'll do a camera comparison as well between this one and a ton of other devices, but you do have the capability as far as I know, of shooting 4k video- and I think I take that back. I think it only taps out at 1080p, but let me go ahead and try this out real quick. So, as you can see, I go ahead and tap on here. Let me go and tap on this. So, as you can see, I go and tap on this and I think it only gives me oh, so I am able to shoot 4k video, so that's really important on the spec sheet.

It says it's only able to do. Okay, I see it. I was able to do 4k. I don't know what the heck I was looking at, so you do have the capability of shooting 4k video on here, which is really, really cool, and I'm curious to see how it compares to the Samsung Galaxy s20. Obviously it's not to you know, probably that's why I'm going to be better, but more specifically the Pixel 3a, as well as the iPhone SE 2.

I feel like those two phones, maybe the OnePlus note as well. Those are three phones that this one is going to be heavily compared to, but at the same time I don't think that OnePlus one is going to be there because, mostly because of the know it not being available in the United States officially and all that so overall, my consensus of this device so far is that I think for the price: it's a really, really decent device. You know, but I haven't tested it out, though early, so keep that in mind once I do make my next couple. Videos and it'll make a little more sense, but the build wise everything about it. There's really nothing.

As far as I can tell that I would hate on it, like I said, the buttons and everything like everything minor is just kind of cosmetic in a way. The fact that this thing does have you know an OLED display that it is you know, stock android, for the most part, is a pretty decent thing and the fact that for that price tag, I think it stays the same price as the pixel 3. I honestly don't remember, but the fact that this thing still has you know a whole punch display is really, really surprising. I mean back in the day you remember when the s10 just last year when that phone came out, that thing was like mind-boggling in a way, and that was a flagship at the time, and we still have hole, punch displays. If you look at this phone and if you look at a phone like a galaxy s20, you probably I mean you could tell some difference, but without holding it they would look kind of the same.

Obviously, the s20 is a better phone, but this one is pretty surprising for what you're getting now. I don't want to hype it up too much because I haven't tested it out thoroughly, and it's going to sound like google paid me to say this, so I'll save my final judgment for when I do a full review. After all my comparisons, so I can get a better idea, but for the price, I don't think it's really that bad. To be honest, so that really pretty much covers it.
