Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 10.4 2020 Review. Gaming, Streaming, Studying.

Hey guys and welcome to another episode of quick experience reviews today, we've got the Samsung Galaxy tab. A7 bought with a 10.4 inch display, usually in the past, when I did a review of the a7, it was 7 inch. A8 was 8 inches, and then you had the 8 10, a 10.1 which was 10.1, and now it's a7 10.4. That's that's strange, if not a bit confusing, but let's crack on with the actual video review right. So what we have on the bottom is a type c port we've got the headphone jack, and we also have two speakers, then, to the side. We've got volume down volume of power button, and then we've got another two speakers, so we will get a quad speaker setup, and then we've got the memory cards tray.

You can buy a 4g model as well, so you get the memory card and a sim card tray and on the back, we've got an 8 megapixel camera with the front facing one. Well, you've got two dual cam setup, but it's a five megapixel camera and the dev sensor to to work with the um face, recognition to unlock the device, and then we've got the standard warranty card quick start guide, a box standard charger. However, it's a fast charger um, so we've got the charger and the lead in the box itself, which is always nice. So what have we got in here? We are running on android 10, with a one UI 2.5, and we have the android security parts from September 2020. So considering this, the review is being done in October.2020, that's actually pretty decent. When it comes to the actual device we have a battery, which is nice, which is 7040 milliampere hours, we've got different power modes, and then we've got adaptive power saving as well.

Now when it comes to charging like, I did mention, it does support fast charging. So, if you'd like to you can turn on fast charging, it takes around two and a half hours a bit over two and a half hours to fully charge it. So it's not bad storage. Wise we've got 52 gigs of internal storage, but you can also buy a 64 gig model. However, both storage sizes can be expanded with a memory card of at least 400 gigs and then, when it comes to special Samsung features, you've got the double press shortcut, so I've got it set as a camera.

So if you double tap it on just the camera, or you can set it up to open an app- let's say I don't know a zoom skype, Spotify or whatever you'd like to, and then we've got caller calls and text on all the devices um. So if you want to you've got the Samsung phone, you can actually reply to text messages on the tab itself. Then you've got a smart pop-up view, which is one of my favorite features of all Samsung tabs. If you receive a text message- or I don't know, you want to open a calculator while you are browsing excel, you can do that, and it does that in a small pop-up window. Then, when it comes to another neat feature, it is um double tap to wake which isn't quite often set up on tablets.

So it's nice to have and when it comes to unlocking the device like I did mention you do get face, recognition which works pretty well, it's actually quite fast as well I'll show you later on and then, when it comes to lock screen, you can change the clock style face widget. So if you'd like to, for example, you can set up music or today's schedule next alarm. So when you lock the screen, it shows you everything on the last screen. Obviously I'm not listening to any music right now, but you've also seen how fast it unlocks with the face recognition. So when I locked that screen- and I locked it with my dog- it worked pretty well now when it comes to display, we've got obviously dark mode which goes across the whole device.

If you'd like to you, can turn it on a scheduled custom schedule or sunset to some from dos til dawn uh. Let's use a movie reference if you'd like to, so yeah does a pretty decent job and then, when it comes to sound um settings, those lovely quad speakers do benefit from Dolby Atmos. You don't have to plug. In the headphones to benefit from Dolby Atmos and as you've seen, Dolby Atmos allows you to set it up for different media consumption, gaming movies, music and so on, and that was a different song. Let's go listen to the speakers actually and see how they actually perform in both music and some video, so so, yeah lovely crisp, full HD display brilliant for movies, um and even gaming, as it is an android device.

If you'd like to you, can obviously pair a Bluetooth keyboard. This is tag's key cover keyboard. Obviously you can use any keyboard, and I'm using a micro, sorry, Logitech MX anywhere to mx2s Bluetooth mouse as well. So, as you can see, if you'd like to you can do some pretty decent word editing, not only Microsoft Word, but you can also use, I don't know PowerPoint you can use Excel. So considering the lightness of the device um, it isn't really that heavy.

It weighs around 476 grams in a Wi-Fi, only model, which is this one or 477, which is one gram more in the LTE 4g variant. It's actually pretty neat, but you can do that on a tab. I do feel like. Sometimes tablets are just more convenient than laptops, but obviously you do need a keyboard and because it is an android device, it also supports controllers. This is an Xbox One X controller, so we're going to set it up.

First, with some native games like Minecraft, I do get asked a lot about Minecraft. Does this table you run Minecraft or Roblox. As you can see, it runs Minecraft really well um, so it's actually quite smooth, considering you've got the snapdragon 662 and three gigabytes of ram and arena 610 GPU. It actually works really well um, as you can see quite smooth, no stuttering, no lags or anything like that. Pretty silky, smooth, gameplay, obviously Minecraft, isn't that taxing or demanding when it comes to GPU, but it works really well.

Another thing I wanted to show you, which you can obviously do as well using the tab is GeForce now, so you can either use Microsoft, project cloud or you can use GeForce now and that allows you to play PC games on your tab. Now this GeForce now I'm using now this is actually streaming from the NVIDIA servers. It's not going from my gaming laptop um. I do apologize. The quality of the actual gameplay might not be as smooth as you'd like to, but it's purely because I've got only 50 meg broadband, and this is currently going um on 2.4 gigahertz Wi-Fi as well, because I'm two rooms away from my Wi-Fi router, so it might not be as silky smooth as it is when you're sitting next to your router, and you are set with five gigahertz rather than 2.4, but as you can see, it's actually not that bad and considering I'm playing grip, which is a very, very fast-paced game. It's actually not that bad.

You do see occasional stutter, but come on. I am playing a full-blown PC game on my tablet, which costs like 220 pounds, so it is pretty decent. I have to admit especially that when you play games like this, they don't actually kill the battery as much as when you play games natively on the tablet. So when it comes to media consumption, videos and so on, it does actually last a pretty good chunk of time around four and a half five hours. So it's not that bad um.

Obviously it's nowhere near 10, 10 hours of let's say an iPad Pro or anything like that, but it does a pretty decent job. So, thanks for watching another episode of quick expert reviews, and I'll speak to you soon guys bye.
