Google Pixel 4a 5G Unboxing!

Hey, what's going on everybody, it's max here from matrices and in front of me, I've got the Pixel 4a 5g, it's pretty packaging, it's very minimal! This year I've got the pixel 5 here, uh, which I've already unboxed and set up and everything um. I haven't done an unboxing on YouTube and my gosh I think, like two years or so I just wanted to give this another shot. If you guys uh want to see more unboxing from matrices. Definitely let me know in the comments um, but here's the pixel 5. , it's a really sharp phone, I'm liking it so far. I've only had a day with it, so I don't have really any opinions beyond how it feels in the hand which is very comfy.

This is a perfect size for a phone, but I will have more to say in my full review, which is coming in probably two or three weeks time. So stay tuned. For that this is the pixel 5. I've got a pixel 4. I've had a pixel 4.

This is a sweet d brand skin that I've got um kind of matches the website's color scheme. I really like both of these phones, this one in particular the Pixel 4a. It served me very well um over these past. I think it's been two months since I got the phone. So it's its a really nice phone for the price uh, and this is kind of the bigger version of that phone I'll, keep it in frame.

Here there you go Pixel 4a, so the 485g uh 6.2-inch 1080p screen it's at 60 hertz, but uh. You know you, you take what you can get when these manufacturers decide what to chop off. It's got a snapdragon 765 g processor, which means it's got 5g. Hence, the 5g logo. Right there on the box uh, it's got six gigs of ram.

It's got 128 gigs of storage, um, and I'm kind of excited to open this up, because it looks like a fascinating phone. It's priced at 499, which is pretty cheap for a 5g phone, especially nowadays as these thousand dollar phones starting they're, just starting to come out with 5g. So this one should be fascinating to test. So let's get this thing unboxed, like I said it's super minimal. Typically, I think they print like a showpiece sort of um photograph showing the pixel 4 or whatever it is.

You have in the box kind of in like a real world use case and at least with this box. That's not the case whatsoever. You just get sort of a silhouette shot of the 4a 5g here, and then you flip it over you just get team pixel right there at the top. I use that hashtag all the time. It's I guess for brand clout is that what people do now anyway, lets uh peel these things off here.

So as you can see, google likes to make it very easy to open its phones. So we just peel these guys right off, and we will get this guy open and there is our phone, the 4a 5g we'll take that guy out. It's got some nice, it's not too heavy, but it definitely feels nice. It actually feels pretty good to hold. Furthermore, it definitely feels like a big 4a uh.

Let's see, I don't know if my iPhone can pick up ASMR, but I'll be real quiet. How was that? Is that good? Okay, fine! All right we'll set this guy off to the side. For now and let's see what else is in the box, we do get our paperwork right here, uh sim ejection tool, I don't think they're doing stickers with the no they're, not they, so they have taken out the stickers from their packaging, which is very unfortunate um. I don't think there are any stickers in my pixel 5 box either. If there were, I would uh I'll just update you guys in the comments section um.

As you can see, we do get a cable, USB c to USB. We have our converter adapter, which just basically lets you connect your old cable to your pixel 4 a5g, to move over all of your data during the setup process. Uh. We also have what apple doesn't include anymore in their phone boxes, a wallboard. This is 18 watts.

So it's not going to be the fastest uh charging in the world, but at least it's something, whereas uh apple doesn't give you anything like that. Let's shove all that stuff to the side, in fact, and there we go so here is the device itself and I got the just black model, there's also a white model, but it's exclusive to Verizon, because if you're on Verizon you're forced to pay an extra hundred dollars for the phone because, for whatever reason, Verizon thinks it's important to have its millimeter wave technology on every phone, it sells. So if it's a 5g phone from Verizon you're going to get millimeter wave, which means you got to pay more, if you want to pay less, you got to buy from the manufacturer and that's where google comes in, it's 4.99 from Google 5.99 to verizon, you get the sweet white color. If you want white, this black is just fine. I think it feels just like the 4a, which means uh.

You don't get too many fingerprints. You get some smudges here and there, but it's not that big a deal. Obviously, as you can see, we have a dual camera set up here on the back. We have a main sensor, which is 12 megapixels, and we also have an ultra-wide at 16 megapixels. Thank god.

Google finally decided to include a 16 megapixel ultra-wide camera. It's been. It feels like forever that google didn't do this like they slacked hard last year by including the telephoto with the 4 and the 4 XL. Thank god. It's gotten ultra-wide this year.

Otherwise, I would lose all faith in google as a company. I mean seriously. So let's get this guy booted up come on there we go. We have power friends, we have power and just to do a little size. Comparison here is the 4a next to the five.

So there you go, so I mean it's, it's a pretty notable difference in size. It's a relatively larger phone as it is as you can see, but it still feels pretty comfy. I don't think it's! Okay, it's not necessarily one handable. If your hands are a bit larger than mine, you probably can do it with one hand, but more often than not, I feel like people are going to need two hands for this phone. This is probably a double handed, so we will just let this guy boot itself up whenever it decides.

I mean these things can take days here. It comes, I think, maybe there it is look at that colors and everything okay. So here is, so I don't have to go through the setup process. Here's a size comparison between the pixel 5 and the 4a 5g so, like I said, a notable size difference. This phone is almost exactly the same size as the 4a, despite having a 6-inch display, whereas the 4a has a 5.8-inch screen, but this has 6.2, so bezels are a little chunkier. Obviously, a bigger screen would lead to a bigger footprint anyway, but it's definitely notably bigger, as you can see there.

So let me breeze through this setup process, and that should be just about all. We have to cover in this video. So, okay, now we're all set up the pixel, 4a 5g and just kind of messing with it during the setup. I'm really starting to like this form factor this size. It's really comfortable.

If you have larger hands and like I said it's not really a one-handed phone, it kind of is, but you do have to do the phone shimmy in your hand, to reach the notification shade uh. You do have the fingerprint sensor on the back that lets you swipe down. I guess the feature is not enabled, though, because it's not working for me um, but overall. I think this will be a really fun review. Furthermore, I should have review in just about probably three weeks time: uh it'll more than likely come after the pixel 5 goes up, so definitely stay tuned.

For that I'm max with metro docs, and I will see you guys later.
