OnePlus 9 Vs Google Pixel 5! (Comparison) (Review)

Welcome back everyone, let's go ahead and do a quick little comparison between the Google Pixel 5 and the OnePlus 8 or the OnePlus 9, my bad. Both these phones are fairly new, the OnePlus 9 being the newer phone, but I will tell you the OnePlus 9 is far more. You know expensive. I think it's not a crazy amount, but it is a little more expensive in the new market in the used market, though, because the OnePlus 9 is the newer one. The Google Pixel 5 has been out for a minute, you're, probably going to be getting a cheaper used price on this one than the OnePlus 9. If you want to pick up either, one of these links will be down in the description you can get them from there and help support the channel.

At the same time now side by side. You can definitely see that the OnePlus 9 is an overall bigger phone. I just increased the brightness, it's bigger in almost every single dimension and the hand you can definitely tell the OnePlus 9 is a bigger phone. The Google Pixel 5 has that six inch panel on the front, the OnePlus 9, has a 6.55 inch panel on the front. Both are 1080p the PPI higher on the pixel 5, though so.

Keep that in mind doesn't really mean too much. You know the both panels. Look perfect and they're both flat displays. So if you prefer that that's great, and they also have the whole points displays on the same sides too. So I think that's a really nice touch too.

The OnePlus 9 has a 120 hertz display the pixel 5 has that 90 years display. I really don't think one is way crazier than the other one, but I'm glad they have a higher refresh. The OnePlus 9's display those probably better USB c ports on the bottom. In terms of the side and thickness, I think the OnePlus 9 is a thicker phone, but the pixel 5 kinds of feels a little thinner on the back. You can see glass back on the OnePlus 9.

The pixel 5 has that standard aluminum back fingerprint sensor up top the OnePlus 9 has that built-in fingerprint sensor in the display triple camera setup on the OnePlus 9, dual camera setup on the pixel 5, and definitely the OnePlus 9, is the better feeling phone you're definitely going to be feeling like you, have a more premium device on the OnePlus 9 over the pixel 5. So keep that in mind is that a crazy big deal, probably not, but that is something to kind of keep in mind at the end of the day now I think one of the bigger advantages that both these phones have is probably the software. Both these phone software are stock. I still think oxygen. Os is probably number one followed by you know the pixel 5 stock android, but both of these are stock they're, going to be getting software based for a very long time.

So there really isn't anything crazy. In terms of that, I think both these phones kill it in those standpoints. So there is one area where I'd be like oh, the OnePlus 9 or the Google Pixel 5 are the same. It is 100 in that area for sure, but there is a little of a difference in the battery life department, both these phones first. So I have a wireless charging, which is great, but the OnePlus 9 has a bigger size battery a 4500 William hour battery here, but the pixel 5 has a 4080mah battery, so you're getting a little smaller of a battery here.

But the bigger thing to keep in mind is that the pixel 5 has a smaller display and not as high of a refresh rate, so you're kind of saving some battery life in that standpoint, and it's not as performance heavy as something like an OnePlus 9. So that's another area where the OnePlus 9 could potentially be a little of a know: more power, hungry device, more battery hungry device, but I still think when it comes down to both of these the pixel 5's battery life is perfect. The OnePlus 9 is perfect too, but dude. The pixel 5 has killer battery life. Anything I've ever done with.

It was really, really good. I think with android 12 that is on now. It's not really that great, but it is a developer beta, I'm basically my experience off android 11 with oxygen OS. It's still going to be great, and you know, battery life is going to be perfect, probably a little better on the OnePlus 9 as well. So in terms of that, if there was one area where I would say they're about the same as the software, but the battery life may be slightly better on the OnePlus 9, so that covers it up there.

Now, let's go ahead and do a little of a speed test between both these devices. Google Pixel 5 has a Qualcomm snapdragon, 765 g chipset, with eight gigabytes of ram on the only one model of this phone, but the OnePlus 9 has a Qualcomm snapdragon, 888 chipsets inside it with eight decks of ram on the base model and then 12 gigs of ram on the top tier model. So let's go and see which one is the faster film between both of these okay. Now that we're back all the apps should be cleared out in the background, hopefully right now. So let me clear these out and go and clear these out.

Okay, perfect, let's get started the OnePlus 8 and the OnePlus 9 is just flying all over the place. Let's do phone calls three two one and about the same on both as you can see, the animation speeds are about the same hopping out too messages. Three two one and the one plus nine seem to be pretty fast. There play store three two one and the OnePlus and the Google Pixel 5 actually was a little faster, they're scrolling through you guys can see. The scrolling speeds are roughly, I think, smoother overall on the OnePlus 9, as you guys could see, it seemed to be a little glitchy on the pixel 5.

So keep that in mind hopping over. I have a bunch of these third party apps. Let's do Snapchat three two one about the same, not a big difference at all fruit, ninja three, two one, and you can see the OnePlus 9 does seem to be faster. It already loaded up, and it took a while to get into this display on the Google Pixel 5. Hopping out of here.

Let's go ahead and do snake versus blocks three two, and I already screwed that one up I'll load that up in the right management portion both three two one, one plus nine again- was the faster one hopping out of there, and I don't know where my apps or all my apps went on this device they like vanished. Let's do temple run two three two one, and you can see the OnePlus 9 is fairly fast. I mean you can see the Google Pixel 5 is a little slow. I don't want to say the pixel 5 is a very slow phone, but you can see there's quite a bit of a difference between both of these devices, I'm getting into some gameplay. Let's see, if there's going to be a difference at all, and as always, I really don't think there's going to be that big of a difference once you're in the game itself, but that loading speed.

Actually, I saw the OnePlus 9 kind of good job a little, but you'd be surprised still how fast the Google Pixel 5 is hopping out over here. Let's get into their cameras, three two one, the pixel 5 actually was pretty faster. I don't know why the OnePlus 9 was so slow, chrome. Three two one and different tracks are different, like I just saw tracks here different, you know pages, but roughly around the same, I would say I'll be kind of here. Let's see this one three two one, and I think the one plus nine was over a little faster there.

You can do YouTube music, three, two one, I think, roughly faster on the OnePlus 9. I did kind of grab it before it was able to finish. Let's do YouTube three, two one for some reason: click on the Google Pixel 5. , it's very strange, but let's go and get into some rand management. I mean, I think overall, the OnePlus 9 is probably the faster phone.

But, to be honest, if I wasn't comparing them side by side, I don't think I would notice that big of a difference other than maybe some heavier intensive games, even like something like temple run, which isn't that crazy intensive. There was a pretty big difference there, but I think other than that. Both these phones are still extremely fast. I think the OnePlus 9, though, is the faster one, but it's not really that noticeable, if I'm being honest unless you're doing super heavy intensive tasks, so that pretty much covers up the speed comparison, let's go and briefly hit on the cameras. Now, as I mentioned before, the pixel 5 has a dual camera setup, a wide angle lens and an ultrawide sensor where the OnePlus 9 also has the wide angle lens and ultrawide sensor, but it also has a little of an additional depth lens, which is really cool.

Now I'm sure everyone already expects this, but the pixel 5's camera is really, really good, even in weird, like conditions like this is a fairly weird condition, even though I perfect lighting for the video, the pictures, you know it's all kind of dark here, and you have the ability of shooting 4k 60 on this camera, which is perfect. You also can do 1080p at 30 on the front, which is great it's fairly similar to what the OnePlus 9 has, but this camera, as most of you already know, the software is so great. I want you to look at something look how fast it is to kind of zoom in it's not like iPhone level zooming in, but it's fairly fast. You can see its kind of like integral, like I don't know the best way to describe it, but this camera was good. I've already done a lot of camera comparisons, and it's a great camera for sure.

But when you look at something like the OnePlus 9, for example, this camera is great. You have 8k capability on this camera as well, which is amazing. I love seeing that type of capability here, but one thing about their UI. Am I'm not really too much of a fan? I like stock android UI, and I like one UI's UI for their camera for this one, as you can see it's a little glitchy when you're trying to zoom in and out it's not as fast as something like the pixel 5 as I demonstrated, but I feel, like the cameras are still great. Like I said, the 8k capability is awesome, 1080p at 30 on the front as well, which is kind of a downside.

You know OnePlus really hyped up this camera, and I was expecting them to do a better improvement for the front that didn't end up being the case, but I do think this camera is probably feature full in terms of you know, just the raw features more than the pixel 5. But, to be honest, I think the pixel 5's camera quality wise is probably better, and I just love the pixel 5's fluidity in the camera, but I think the OnePlus has probably the more features to it when it comes down to it. So, to kind of sum up this video and to answer the question: should you go and buy a pixel 5, or should you buy an OnePlus 9? This is what I'll tell you, I think for sure. If you have all the money in the world, I think the OnePlus 9 is feels more like a flagship phone than the pixel 5. You know you're getting that 120hz display you're getting a bigger phone.

The display isn't necessarily better looks kind of the same, but you are getting somewhat of a better feeling: phone you're getting glass on the back you're. Getting you know, wireless charging, which both phones have you're getting a bigger battery on this phone, which is great the performance, could be better if you get that top tier model with the 12 gigs of ram, that's going to be a better performing phone in terms of management. So that's another w in my standpoint, and it's just a perfect feeling phone. This is a solid phone. I think the price tag is kind of pushing it, especially when you look at like used one plus eight, like the OnePlus 8, is so much so close to the OnePlus 9th funny, but the pixel 5 has a lot of capability for sure as well.

When you look at this phone you're getting stock android, which some people may actually prefer a great camera on the back and the front, and to be honest, the camera isn't even that far off between these two, like it's very similar like I'm joking, the performance is still perfect on the pixel 5, the battery life is perfect. The OnePlus 9's battery life is probably better, but the performance- and you know the whole entire package- is great here. It's not that expensive and I really do think if you can pull off with like a used. One of these that's great. The OnePlus 9 is even more flagship phone, as I stated.

If you had to pick up one, I think the OnePlus 9 would be my choice to recommend to people, but the pixel 5 is still a solid phone for sure. So in terms of that that pretty much covers it up, like I mentioned you can pick up either one of these in the links down below hit the like button, if you guys enjoyed the video but definitely hit that subscribe button, every single subscriber that we get really does count, so me so much if you guys can hit that also check out the other links down in the description as well.
