Galaxy S10 Plus vs iPhone XS Max SPEED Test - Battle of the BEASTS!

What's up guys, my name is Brandon, and today we're going to be running a speed test between the two most popular flagship phones on the market right now, the Samsung Galaxy S, 10 plus and the iPhone 10s Macs, and if you guys missed my last video, where I compared the s10 II to the iPhone 10 are definitely check the cards and also the description down below to watch that video. It was really, really interesting. So hopefully, this one is just as interesting and just as unexpected as that video so anyways in this video we're going to be doing our typical speed test, so we're going to be doing boot up tests app launching tests, we're going to test, the RAM, we're gonna, do web browsing tests and more so, of course, before we get into any kind of testing. Let's lay out the specs here, so you can see what we're working with so starting with the Samsung Galaxy S 10, plus we have the snapdragon 855 processors, with 8 gigabytes of RAM and then over here on the right. We have the iPhone 10s max, which has apples a 12, Bionic chip and four gigabytes of RAM, so we have half the RAM and the iPhone 10s max compared to the s10 plus, so eight gigabytes versus four gigabytes, we're going to see in this test. If that does make a difference in real-world usage, alright, so let's not waste any time at all.

Let's get straight into this test, so we're going to start off with a boot up test, so we're going to shut both of these guys down right here, I. So they are both shut down right now, and we're going to boot them up at the same exact time here in three two one pressing the power button on both holding it on both. At the exact same time, and of course we do have a visual on the Samsung Galaxy s, 10 plus 1st, but let's see if the iPhone can prevail here and actually boot up before the S 10 plus. So still waiting got some graphics here on the S.10 still have the Apple logo on the 10s Macs, and it looks like maybe the 10s Macs nope, the S 10, plus one. The boot up test by about a second there's about a second difference between the two but the S 10 plus, did boot up before the iPhone 10s max, and that is definitely interesting because in my last speed test, the iPhone 10 are booted up before the S 10 II.

So let's go ahead and get on with the speed test. So now we're going to see which one can get to the camera. First from the lock screen. I always like testing this, because I know a lot of people like to pull their phone out of their pocket and just go straight into the camera without fully unlocking their device, and this is something where speed it's always going to matter. Even a second is going to make a difference when you want to get that shot, really quick you're going to want to get to the fastest, let's see which one can actually get to the camera fastest from the lock screen.

We're going to see, which one actually shows the image from the front-facing camera first. So here we go same time and the s10 plus definitely one there. We have to flip the camera around here on the 10s max. We can get a better idea, so it's going to run that again because we couldn't really see when the 10s max launched it. So, let's go again and the 10s max one that times we're gonna.

Do it one last time, so I'm trying to do this as accurate as possible, so go and yes, the 10s max one again, so the tennis max could have even won the first time, but the front-facing camera was not on. It was talking on the back. Camera so looks like the 10s max gets to the camera first from the lock screen. That was the same deal with the 10 R versus the s 10 E as well. So I'm going to stop comparing those two.

Now you guys need to watch that video. If you are interested in that- and you guys see the fingerprint sensor there on the s10 and s 10 plus- is not the greatest at all. So now, let's move on to opening up some applications and seeing which one gets into the application. First and I had some people comment on my last speed test that doesn't really matter if there's like a second difference, but the thing is like yeah: it's not really a huge deal, but over time those you know one or two seconds are gonna. Add up, and you're gonna really feel the difference.

You know, especially today in today's time when everything is so fast phones are so fast, and you're used to everything opening up so quickly that one second or two seconds when opening up an application can definitely make a difference, and you will notice it in real world usage as well, so we're going to test out some games. First, and we're going to move on to social media, and things like that. So, let's start off with games. We're going to start off with. Let's do Galaxy on Fire three first I saw all applications are closed, so let's go ahead and start Galaxy on Fire three and three two one pressed at the same time.

We just have a quicker animation here on the iPhone 10s maximum that we do have reduced animations on the S 10 plus. So it's looking like the iPhone tennis max is in the lead, but just a little and yes, so wow I actually got to this screen pretty much at the same time. I think the iPhone 10s max had it, though, by like a couple milliseconds not much at all, though not a big difference there. Now, let's go ahead and open up asphalt, 9 and three two one, and we have a much bigger logo here on Android and the S 10 plus, for some odd reason, and it's looking like the iPhone 10s max- is in the lead here. No, that was super close again.

It looked like the S 10 plus may have actually taken that one there, with all nine very, very close. Now, let's do CSR racing in three two ones. Oh, I thought I didn't press it, but I did. It was just a little of a lag there on the s10 plus for whatever reason and neck-and-neck, and it looks like the iPhone 10s max- definitely be the s10 plus by a good margin here. For some reason we have some choppiness and some lag here on the s10 plus, even though we're loading up the same game so like at least the three to four-second difference there between the iPhone 10s Max and the s10 plus.

Now, let's go on to pub G. This is going to be a real test right here. So three, two one press: it is the exact same time once again and they look pretty identical so far. Let's see which one gets off this screen first and looks like the iPhone 10s max is in the lead, but we have seen the s10 plus just come in at the very end here, and we did update and everything we did all the updates at the same time on both phones. So there's not gonna, be any kind of update make this as accurate as possible.

So, yes, the iPhone sent us max by a good still loading here on the s10 plus so good, at least five seconds, maybe going on 10 seconds, not quite 10 seconds, but at least a five-second difference there between the iPhone, 10s Max and the s10 plus so very interesting. Now, let's go ahead and move on to some social media apps, so let's open up Twitter first and three, two one, and we are still loading here on the s10 plus, and it looks like yes, we just finished up on the s10 plus and the iPhone 10s max. It doesn't open as quick as the s10 plus, but the tweets do load a lot quicker on the iPhone, then Android, but still the s10 plus definitely one there for Twitter. Let's go ahead and do Instagram and once again it just now loaded up here on okay, my apologies for that video um, but uh Instagram, definitely loaded up first on the s10 plus I would definitely have to blur that out. I'm sorry! Now, let's go ahead and open up YouTube in three two one, and we get content and fully loaded up first here on the s10 plus ahead of the iPhone 10s Mac.

So it's looking like social media apps are definitely a win for the s10 plus over the iPhone and the iPhone 10s max. Let's try Reddit and red. It looks like it's going to be the same thing. Yes, so we have Reddit loaded up first here on the s10 plus over the iPhone 10s max, let's launch twitch and three two one and an on the s10 plus over the iPhone 10s Mac. So it's looking like pretty much everything besides games are loading up first on the s10 plus, whereas the games are you know, an iOS in general is just so much more optimized for games and things like that.

So the games are gonna launch first on the iPhone, but again everything else seems to load up faster here on the s10 plus, so we're going to keep on opening up applications to see which one is faster, and it's also going to help when it comes to the RAM management test. When we're going to have a lot of applications open, we're going to see which one relaunches in which one doesn't, so we're going to go ahead and open up Amazon and look like thee. It looked like maybe the s10 plus, but only because we didn't get to this page so that one was a pretty difficult one to judge. Let's go ahead and move on to the weather application where it's weather on here we go three two one and the weather application is going to load up first on the s10 plus once again, once again, by a pretty good margin by a couple seconds there over the iPhone 10s Mac. So it's going to open up ESPN and three two one, and it's looking like.

We get content first here on the s10 plus, and we got the ad there as well. We're still waiting on the ad here on the iPhone 10s Mac. So definitely another win here for the s10 plus. This thing is putting the iPhone 10s max to shame when it comes to anything but games. Let's try out the App Store, so it's going to be the App Store on iOS and the Play Store on Android press at the same time and the Play Store definitely loads up.

First before the 10s max and the App Store it's going to open up the camera and the camera was that looked pretty much identical. Maybe the 10s max there that was really tough to say, and we're opening up. One more time- and yes, it looked like the 10s max- opens up the camera first. So now, let's move on to the RAM management test. So again we have eight gigabytes of RAM here on the s10 plus versus four gigabytes on the iPhone 10s Mac, so tons more RAM on the s10 plus, let's see if it makes a difference when we go back and open up the applications we just had running.

Let's start off in order with the game, so we're going to start off with galaxy on fire. Three we're not going to see if they open at the same time we're just going to see if they leave or where they open, where they left off. So it looks like we have a relaunch for both, so we did have a relaunch there for Galaxy on Fire, three, not a good start. Let's move all to asphalt, 9 again we're not pressing them at the same time we're just seeing if we have a relaunch, and we're we left off for both so no relaunch on either one there. Let's go and do CSR racing ? and once again we're right where we left off.

Oh no, we do have a relaunch here on the s10 plus, so we did not get that here on the iPhone 10s max we're still right where we left off, and it's a long, low, ?, so CSR racing. Definitely a big disadvantage here on the s10 plus, so I'm really surprised the iPhone 10s max is keeping up with the s10 plus when it comes to RAM management. Now let's go ahead and do pub G, and we have no relaunch on either one there. That's very interesting because games that are a lot less CPU intensive are relaunching. Let's go ahead into twitter right where we left off.

Let's do Instagram same thing: ESPN no relaunch there. So it's looking like the relaunch has only happened on games, and I'm. Going to have to give the win there for RAM management to the iPhone 10s max, not really too surprising. I said I was surprised earlier, but then, when I think about it iOS, and it's RAM management and just the optimization overall, it's just so much superior, so much more superior to the Android and the s10 plus. So not really too surprising.

You saw the same thing with the 10r: the RAM management tests. Definitely, you know, was a winner for the 10r over the s10 II looks like it's the same situation here, the iPhone when it comes to RAM management, it's just going to be better than Android overall, but when it came to opening up applications that were not games when we're talking about our social media, apps Amazon ESPN things like that, the s10 plus definitely beat out the iPhone 10s Mac. So now, let's move on to a web browsing test, so we're gonna start by going to product hunt, calm and three two one, and that was super close I think the s10 plus may have had the advantage there, but barely now, let's go to espn. com and three two one espn. com loaded up.

First on the iPhone 10s max we're still loading here on the s10. Now, let's go to apple. com and three two one and AFRICA, of course, is gonna load up first on the s2 air on the iPhone 10s max. So now, let's go to Samsung calm and three two one and look like the iPhone 10s max actually beat out the s10 plus going to Samsung calm as well, and then just for fun. Let's go to google.

com and see which one loads up. First then, three, two one and it looks like we're still loading here on the s10 plus so very interesting. The iPhone 10s max definitely beat out the s10 when it comes to web browsing. So while we're on the web browser, let's go ahead and run a quick Wi-Fi speed test just to see which one gets better. Wi-Fi speeds I always like to test this, just because we do have different internals in every phone, and they could get better Wi-Fi signal and better speeds than another device.

So we got a one. Forty-three point: six download here on the s10 plus, and we're going to get around a ten point: nine to eleven upload here on the s10 plus. So at ten point nine. Now, let's go ahead and run it here separately on the iPhone 10s Macs and see what kind of speeds we get. So we did get slightly better results here on the iPhone 10s max.

If you see we got a one. Forty-six point three versus a one. Forty-three point six and we also got a higher upload here on the iPhone as well. Eleven point three versus ten point: nine. So now, let's go back and run and an tutu benchmark test.

I always like to run these just to see which one finishes first and also to see which one gets the highest score. So we're going to run this test at the same time here in three two one, so press test at the exact same time it's going to run through this. It will take a few minutes, probably like maybe seven to eight minutes, so I will be back once this does finish up, and I'll share the scores with you guys and tell you, which one finished first, all right. So we did just finish up here on the iPhone 10s max, while we're still waiting on the S ten plus here. So let's go ahead.

Take a look at the rating here, their score. So we've got a thirty-two, eight nine seven six, and you can see the CPU GPU UX and the memory scores right there once the S ten plus finally finishes up we'll be able to compare these as well. So the final results are in. You can see there. We have a 328 versus a 359, so definitely a higher score here on the s10 plus.

When it comes to the CPU, though we have a higher score here on the iPhone 10s max at 125 thousand versus 118 thousand, the GPU score is higher on the s 10 + 156 vs.129 UX is higher on the s 10 + as well 73 vs.60, and then the memory is actually higher on the iPhone 10s Mac. So it comes in at 13, 647, vs. , 11 729 and that score actually does make sense, because we just saw the iPhone 10s max, beat the S 10 + when it came to RAM management, despite having half the amount of RAM, so fascinating results. There again just shows how well iOS and the iPhones are optimized, but overall the speed tests was very, very close when it ? opening up applications that were not games. I would say the s 10+1.

When it came to opening up games the iPhone one ran management had to go to the iPhone a lot of the other things like opening up the camera from the lock screen and things like that also went to the iPhone. We did boot up faster here on the s10 plus by about a second but I, don't know, let me know what you guys think. Let me know who you think won overall and this speed test, because obviously some things are more important than others, so I'm curious to see which phone you think actually won this speed test overall, but regardless of who won I hope you guys did enjoy the video. If you did make sure hit that thumbs up button. Please keep it civil in the comments section.

Please don't dislike just because your phone lost I hope you guys enjoyed the speed test I just like making them I, don't have any bias when I do these I actually root for the new phones, if anything, if I root for any phone, I'm going to root for the new one versus like the iPhone, so I really hate when people say that I'm, you know biased, and I'm, trying to make the iPhone win or something like that. That is not the case at all. I've! Never done that, but yeah make sure you guys do also subscribe, and we'll be doing a battery drain test between these two phones and also the two phones that I did the previous speed test on the 10r and the s10. So definitely stay tuned. For that video make sure you are subscribed with that.

Bell icon clicked, so you do not miss it, but anyways guys. Thanks again for watching the video, and I'll see you soon.
